Let's Get A Divorce - Part 1
Julia sat in the car unsure of what to do with the revelation.
They soon arrived at the Haward's apartment. Mrs Haward knowing James was around asked the guard to send Julia to the 7th floor so she could shower.
"Where is James?" Mrs Haward asked upon entering the 6th-floor living room.
"He went out ma'am," replied the servant who had his head bowed while addressing Mrs Haward.
"How long ago?" Mrs Haward asked to know how much time she had before James returned.
"Not sure ma'am, but it's not been that long," replied the servant respectfully.
"How do you not know? Do you not know how to tell the time or you are just stupid?" Mrs Haward questioned angrily.
"I am sorry ma'am," the servant apologized.
"Get out of my sight and get me, Veronica," Mrs Haward yelled and dropped her bag on the sofa.
"Yes ma'am," the servant replied giving her a final bow.
"I said get out," Mrs Haward yelled making the servant run out of the living room.
Veronica ran into the living room less than a minute after the other servant had left.
"Ma'am you sent for me," Veronica said with her head bowed.
Mrs Haward shifted her gaze to look at Veronica standing on her right side away from the sofa she was sitting on.
"Come closer," Mrs Haward ordered and Veronica took some steps closer.
"A little more," Mrs Haward said and Veronica took three more steps and was now standing so close that the space between them was just about 20 cm.
Mrs Haward gestured for her to bring her ears closer and Veronica bent over bringing her ears closer.
"Do you still have the pest clothing in your possession?" Mrs Haward asked.
"Yes ma'am," Veronica replied knowing she was referring to Julia.
"Good, she is upstairs on the 7th floor, get some clothes for her and get her something to eat," Mrs Haward instructed.
"Yes ma'am," Veronica acknowledged.
"Make sure even the ants here will not know she is here," Mrs Haward warned.
"Yes ma'am," responded Veronica.
"Now get out and get to it," Mrs Haward dismissed her and Veronica bowed before exiting the living room to carry out the instructions.
Mrs Haward retrieved her phone from her bag and dialled the chief of police's number.
"Great job. That was well executed," Mrs Haward praised.
"Thank you, ma'am. I told you I don't disappoint," the chief of police replied.
"So how is he now?" Mrs Haward inquired.
"Aside from feeling disappointed, I will say he is okay," the chief of police replied.
"Good, keep me informed on any plan he comes up with," Mrs Haward requested.
"Sure I will but there is something you need to know," the chief of police said.
"What is it?" Mrs Haward inquired.
"I don't know how he did it but Mr Wellington is with him," the chief of police informed her.
"Are you sure about that?" Mrs Haward asked moving from her relaxing position to sitting up on the sofa.
"Yes, he was with us, only he didn't come out of the car. My men also informed me a night before, they saw someone around the place and they took care of him. Let's hope he is not one of Mr Wellington's men else we are screwed," the chief of police informed her.
"If Mr Wellington is here in Florida why is he not on the news?" Mrs Haward asked.
"I am not sure but I wouldn't tell you if I have not seen him get into Jason's ride," the chief of police reported. "He looks so much like Jason," he added making Mrs Haward frown.
"What are you saying, are you sure it was Mr Wellington you saw or Jason?" Mrs Haward asked.
"I saw the two together and they look so much alike," the chief of police replied.
"You know what, double check and confirm if it was Mr Wellington you saw or someone else," Mrs Haward said and the call ended.
"If he is right why will Jason and Mr Wellington look alike?" Mrs Haward thought. "Could they be related in a way?" she thought with a frown.
"No, there's no way Jason could be related to Mr Wellington, the second most rich, powerful and influential person. No way. Even if it is him, I am sure it's just business," Mrs Haward convinced herself and left for her room.
Inside her room, she tossed her bag onto the bed and quickly dialled a number.
"Hello, I have a new task for me. Get me everything you can find on Mr Wellington," Mrs Haward said as soon as the phone connected.
"Did you say, Mr Wellington, as in the Wellington?" the person asked.
"Yes. Do you have a hearing problem?" Mrs Haward replied.
"You can't investigate them and you know that. Why, do you want to get me killed?" the person said angrily.
"Don't raise your voice at me. I will pay you," Mrs Haward said.
"I am sorry, no amount of money will make me embark on this deadly mission," the person said.
"hundred million dollars," Mrs Haward said.
"Make it two hundred and you have a deal," the person replied.
"That is too much," Mrs Haward protested.
"Hey, you are sending me into the lion's den and you want to be cheap about it?" the person asked. "I mean my words," he added.
"Fine, fine. It's very important and also find out, what his relationship is with Jason," Mrs Haward added.
"Got it," the person said and the call ended.
"Oh God, I pray what I am thinking is not true," Mrs Haward whispered on her lips.
A knock on the door startled her.
"Who is it and what do you want?" Mrs Haward yelled annoyed.
"Ma'am is me, Veronica. I am done," Veronica reported.
"Okay, now go away," Mrs Haward yelled from inside and Veronica left the place immediately.
Veronica quickly went to her room and closed the door making sure it was locked. She went into the bathroom and dialled Jason's number. The phone rang twice and Jason answered.
"Hello Veronica," came Jason's deep voice.
"Sir, Ms Julia is here. Ma'am brought her. She is on the 7th floor but she doesn't look good," Veronica reported.
"Thanks, Veronica but in the future send a message so you don't put yourself in trouble. Thank you," Jason replied.
"Yes sir, I am going back to work now," Veronica said and Jason ended the call after acknowledging.
Veronica opened her door and jumped out of her skin seeing Mrs Haward standing right in front of her door.
"ma'am," Veronica said lowing her head.
"Get me a glass of wine," Mrs Haward said and walked away.
Veronica breathed a sigh of relief and quickly went to get Mrs Haward her wine. She took it and exited the living room and used the stairs to the 7th floor. The elevator doorbell rang and James exited with Fiona walking hand in hand as they entered the living room on the 6th floor.
Mrs Haward heard the elevator doorbell and knew it could be James and Fiona. She knew immediately she needed to hurry Julia out of the building. She sent a message to one of the guards to come up to the 7th floor before entering the 7th-floor living room.
On the 7th floor, Julia entered the living room upon hearing the door open. She was wearing a flare long-sleeved dress. Her hair was held with a band in the middle and her heavy curls flowed down her back to her waist.
"Here, in case you have forgotten. I brought you the address of the hospital where Jason had your pregnancy terminated. You can go and verify for yourself," Mrs Haward said and gave Julia a sheet of paper with an address written on it.
There was a knock on the door and a guard walked in once Mrs Haward responded.
"He will drop you off where you want. My work here is done. James told me you had gone missing. I hired someone to find you," Mrs Haward said and Julia only said thank you and headed for the door but was stopped by Mrs Haward who grabbed her hand before she could walk past her.
"Do not get fooled by Jason again. You may not be so lucky next time," Mrs Haward warned and Julia nodded before exiting the living room after Mrs Haward let go of her hand.
After a few minutes' drive, they were at the hospital per Julia's request. She walked in and after seeing a doctor requested a full body examination. The report was ready and the doctor confirmed her womb had recovered well from the loss of her pregnancy.
"Did I lose it or it was terminated?" Julia asked.
"Well, during pregnancy should anything go wrong a termination could be carried out to save the mother. Your pregnancy was terminated," the doctor said and opened her file.
"Oh, this was a requested termination signed by Mr Jason Haward. It had nothing to do with your life being in danger," reported the doctor and Julia got up from the seat in total shock.
"Ms Harrison," the doctor called but Julia could not hear him as she walked towards the door in total shock.
"Ms Harrison," the doctor called out to her again and got up from behind his seat to get Julia.
"Ms Harrison," the doctor called again but before he could get to Julia she dropped to the ground.
The doctor quickly checked her and also noticed the bruises on her wrist. He quickly called a medical team in and Julia was sent to the ER. His phone rang and he checked the caller ID. He knew who it was and decided to ignore the call for now.
