Trapped by Him

Chapter 251

Ch. 249 / 398 Feb 22, 2026

Camille roared hysterically, "You can't be so heartless! In fact, the Carter Group and the Silver Spring Pack were both Harry's! He has given the Carter Group to you, and you just need to donate marrow to him, but why did you refuse time and time again? What else do you want? I will give you everything you want. Can you save Harry? I beg you."

In the waiting room of the airport, Gloria sat alone in a corner. She seemed to be enduring something desperately, her body trembling.

She clenched her fists and said through gritted teeth, "If you care about the Carter Group so much, take it!"

She had already put too much effort into the messy Carter Group and did many things unwillingly.

Everyone thought that she had taken advantage of the Carter family.

"I don't believe that you are willing to give up on it. If you do, you are either a fool or a liar. You are just coaxing me." Camille mocked.

Gloria closed her eyes and listened to Camille's voice on the phone. She didn't know why she still felt disappointed.

"I am indeed a fool." She mocked herself.

"What do you mean?" Camille asked in surprise.

Gloria didn't explain anything. Camille began to threaten Gloria to donate marrow to Harry.

At the words, Gloria flew into a rage.

She said coldly, "Tell Harry. Just rest in peace."

"Bastard! I gave birth to such a cold-blooded bastard as you!" Camille cursed furiously.

All her clamoring was interrupted by the busy tone. Gloria pursed her lips stubbornly and stared at the space in front of her, not saying a word.

For a moment, her eyes were wet. She blinked and tried to hold back her tears. She leaned against the chair quietly.

Gloria took the night flight back to Gabbs. When she got off the plane, it was late at night.

Mandy hadn't slept. Gloria turned on her phone and saw many missed calls and text messages.

She glanced at them. They were all from Mandy.

Gloria asked, "You are still up?"

"You got off the plane? I will pick you up," Mandy replied immediately.

"It's OK. I'm in a taxi." Gloria put down her phone. Her lips curved into a mocking smile.

Her so-called family was not as good as a friend without any blood ties.

The former forced her, blamed her, and hated her, while the latter waited for her to return and was willing to pick her up late at night.

Along the way, Gloria was thinking about whether she should have been more ruthless to them in the beginning.

The driver stopped the car and said, "We're here."

Gloria came back to her senses. In front of her was a familiar building and surroundings. She raised her head and looked at the floor where she lived.

The light was not on, and her house was blended into the darkness.

Patrick must have fallen asleep.

Getting out of the car, Gloria took the elevator and arrived at the door.

It was quiet inside.

She did not press the switch on the wall. Instead, under the dim light of the street lamps from the balcony, she could see vaguely and walk into the room.

Since she went to see Heath, she had been tense. The moment she entered the room, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Gloria walked to the living room, threw away the backpack, and was about to throw herself on the sofa.

Only then did she see a figure on the sofa.

She looked carefully and confirmed that it was him.

The fragrance was familiar. It had the same smell as the shampoo in her bathroom.

It was Patrick.

Gloria didn't find it strange or woke him up as usual.

She stood next to the sofa and watched him quietly. Patrick was lying on the sofa with his head resting on his arm.

She did not disturb him. Instead, she went to the bedroom and fetched a quilt for him.

When Gloria turned around, she saw the food on the table. She stood in place as if her feet were nailed to the ground. She reached out the plate and found that it was still warm.

"Gloria?" Patrick muttered. He might have woken up.

Gloria did not respond.

"Gloria, am I dreaming again?" Patrick mumbled.

Patrick turned around in surprise.

Patrick pinched his arm and cried out in pain, "It wasn't a dream. Gloria, you're back. When did you come back? Are you hungry?"

Gloria didn't move. Patrick got up and turned on the light. Immediately, the room was bathed in warm light.

Patrick chattered on and on, "Gloria, I can cook now. I learned how from the TV program."

Gloria glanced at the food on the table, which was still steaming hot.

"Mandy said that you ate well every day. Did Mandy lie to me? Did you have dinner late at night?" Gloria asked deliberately.

"No. I had lunch before it got dark." Patrick was unaware of her emotions.

Gloria's face darkened. "Don't lie to me. If you had lunch in the evening, would the food still be warm now?"

Her tone was a little harsh.

Patrick looked aggrieved. "I didn't lie. I had lunch early. I wouldn't lie to you, Gloria."

"Then, explain to me," Gloria asked angrily.

"If the food turns cold, I will heat it again," Patrick explained seriously, afraid that she would not believe him.

"Heat it? Why?" Gloria's heart beat faster.

She pressed her chest and tried to stay calm. She stared at Patrick without blinking.

She knew the answer.

Gloria's palm was wet. She was so nervous that she was sweating.

"I was waiting for you," Patrick replied as a matter of course.

Gloria's heart was beating fast, and now it skipped a beat.

She lowered her eyes and asked calmly, "Did Mandy tell you I would be back tonight?"

Patrick shook his head.

Gloria pursed her lips. "Then how did you know that I would come back today?"

"I didn't know that." Patrick shook his head once again. "I thought that if you came back, you would need warm food."

Gloria looked calm, yet she was a little flustered in her heart. She asked tentatively, "Do you cook for me every day?"

"Yes," Patrick answered, blinking.

Gloria clenched her fists.

She roared inwardly, 'Patrick, don't answer me without hesitation like this!'

She lowered her head and did not want to admit that she was touched at that moment.

Gloria was swayed.

She picked up the fork and began to eat. To tell the truth, the food didn't taste good. Patrick had no talent for cooking, but Gloria enjoyed it anyway.

'Gloria, have you lost your mind!' She shouted in her heart and finished the meal.
