Trapped by Him

Chapter 268

Ch. 266 / 398 Feb 22, 2026

Patrick chased after Gloria and hugged her. "Don't be afraid. It's me, Patrick."

Gloria seemed to be in shock and struggled with both her hands and feet. "Let go! I want to go back! Let go! Don't touch me! I want to go back!"

"Alright, let's go back. I'll take you back."

Patrick picked Gloria. "I'll take you back now. It's alright. Let's go home."

Gloria shook her head desperately. "Let go of me. I want to go back!"

"Okay, I know. I will take you back now. Gloria, be good."

Patrick walked to the police and said, "My wife was frightened and unstable. I have to take her away first. When she calms down, I will take her to make a statement."

Hank drove over. Patrick held Gloria tightly and got into the car.

Perhaps because Gloria had used up her strength, she fainted.

In the apartment, Sean was packing up his medical kit. "It's fine. She just fainted. But she is quite weak. When she wakes up, she should pay attention to her diet."

Sean glanced at Gloria and curled his lips. "She should get more rest. Let her stay at home. Even so, I am not certain when her ruined body will be able to recover.

"In addition, after she wakes up, it is best to take her to the hospital for a check-up. There is no medical equipment, and I can't get definite data and analyze her specific condition."

Sean packed up his medical kit. A trace of pity flashed across Patrick's eyes. He tucked the quilt around Gloria properly and said in a low voice, "Let's talk in the living room."

Sean looked at Patrick's back and rolled his eyes secretly. He complained in his heart, 'Is it necessary? Even if there was thunder, it would not wake Gloria up.'

He didn't argue with his good friend. He picked up his medical kit and followed Patrick out.

Patrick sat down and crossed his long legs casually. "Since you're back, I'd like to ask you for a favor."

Sean felt flattered and raised his head in surprise. He patted his chest and said, "Don't scare me. Just say it."

Patrick said in a deep voice. "You know, she lied to me."

"What?"

Patrick lowered his eyes. "She said she wanted to stay alone for a while. She lied to me. She decided to donate her bone marrow to Harry behind my back."

He handed Sean a document. "She signed the donation agreement."

Sean took the document and glanced at it. "Since you can get this, it means that her plan failed, right?"

"To be honest, whether it is Harry, Alger, or the other members of the Carter family, I don't care about them at all. I have long known that Alger's illegitimate son's bone marrow matches Harry's. Alger and his lover didn't want their child to donate bone marrow to Harry, so they faked the medical report. I watched on coldly." Patrick's voice was calm.

"Why didn't you tell Gloria earlier? If so, she wouldn't have signed the donation agreement." Sean glanced at him.

"I saw that she only cared about the previous Alpha of the Silver Spring Pack and was indifferent to other members of the Carter family. So I wouldn't bother to tell her that."

Sean was silent. He knew that Patrick was born to be cold.

Not many people and things in the world could arouse his attention.

Apart from Sean and Stewart, he only cared about Gloria.

Sean knew that if it wasn't for Gloria, Patrick would never care about the Carter family. So, although Patrick knew that Harry could be saved, he would still watch Harry die.

Patrick took out a mobile phone and mocked himself. "Take a look at this number."

Sean picked it up and felt that it was a little familiar. "This is?"

"The name of the organization is not noted. After she left the Hammond Group that day, it was the first call she made. I felt strange and got someone to check it out. And guess what?"

Sean looked at the familiar phone number, but he could not remember it.

"Hank found it. The number belongs to an international bone marrow transplant registry," Patrick said.

Sean raised his head abruptly, his eyes full of astonishment. "It can't be..."

"That's right. Hank found out that she had been in contact with the organization since she came back from Waikiki Beach." As he spoke, Patrick gripped Gloria's phone tightly. "She hid it so well. She didn't give herself away in front of me even once. When I pretended to be a fool, she relaxed her guard against me. However, living with her for so many days, I didn't notice anything!"

Sean didn't know how to comfort Patrick and asked him not to think too much.

"She doesn't have to hide it from me. If she just wanted to find a suitable donor for Harry, she didn't have to hide it, even when she was facing me who suffered from memory loss!"

Patrick was shrewd. His shrewdness made him peerless and benefited him in every respect. But at the moment, he wished that he could be a real fool with the mind of eight years old.

"When she promised me to return to Gabbs from Waikiki Beach, she had made the worst decision. She planned to donate bone marrow herself if she couldn't find a donor." Patrick failed to hide the pain in his voice.

Sean didn't say anything. He wasn't stupid, and he guessed that.

How could Gloria be threatened by Patrick so easily with her deceased grandpa?

She resisted so resolutely at the beginning, yet she gave in easily.

At that time, Patrick ignored her subtle changes because he was too excited that Gloria finally returned to Gabbs.

Suddenly, Sean felt bad for Patrick. Patrick didn't hesitate to play dumb. As a result, he didn't let Gloria relax her guard. He was unaware of falling into Gloria's trap and was still proud of himself.

A sharp leopard was no match for a cunning fox in the end.

"Three years ago, she racked her brains to prepare for her escape. Three years later, she wanted to escape again. This time, she was ready to risk her life."

Patrick said with a bitter smile, "I know I was wrong. I only want to spend my life with her, but she would rather die than be with me. Sean, on her eighteenth birthday, I never thought that I would love her so deeply one day. If I had known it early, when she confessed her affection to me, I would have carried her on my shoulder, thrown her on my bed, and trapped her in my territory."
