Eero's perspective
Cohen immediately swallowed hard after he saw Serra walking out of her walk-in closet wearing red laced lingerie. His cock immediately tightened up inside the pajama that he was wearing.
"I just bought this... but I am not quite sure if I look pretty wearing something like this," she said. He knew what Serra meant with those words. She was fishing out compliments from Cohen that he was more than willing to give.
"You are uncertain whether you look pretty in this lingerie? Are you kidding me? You are not just pretty while wearing this, baby. You are sexy too," he said, complimenting the woman that he was about to marry. Cohen looked down on the growing bulge in his pajama. Serra was now gazing at it too.
"Finally! You are in the mood to make love to me. These days. You are out of it, and it's starting to scare me."
Serra flirtatiously pushed Cohen on her back, and then she crawled on top of him.
"I am scaring you? Why would you be scared?"
"Why not? I thought that you were being cold to me. It's starting to cross my mind that you are cheating on me."
"Me? Will cheat on you? I will never do that. I was just not in the mood to fuck you these days because I think something is wrong with me." The flirtatious and seductive look on Serra's face quickly faded after she heard those from Cohen.
She didn't know that he was enduring something.
Cohen was about to kiss her, but the woman pinned him back on the bed, which left him dazed and confused. Serra then lightly hit his chest.
"What do you mean something is wrong with you? And why are you telling me all of this now?"
Cohen once again tried to kiss Serra, but she kept on pinning him back to his place. She wanted to talk to him first.
"What are you feeling?"
"It's nothing serious. It doesn't matter. Let us talk about it some other time," he said. Cohen then brought Serra's hand in his crouch, so she could feel how hard he was right now.
"I need all of your attention on that. I missed seeing you writhe in bed and scream my name," Cohen whispered in her ear.
"Lucky you. You can make me do that all night long." Cohen leaned closer and was about to kiss her. This time around, Serra was anticipating that kiss to happen when Cohen once again felt the pain hammering his chest.
That was what was wrong with him. It's been a week since he started feeling these pains. It felt as if it was slowly killing his wolf, and he did not have an idea why until a bulb of an idea lit up in his head.
He suddenly remembered what his mate had told him before that the Moon Goddess would punish him for cheating on his mate.
Out of panic and fear, he pushed Serra off him, who fell straight to the floor.
"Seriously? What the fuck is wrong with you?"
"I am sorry, but remember when I told you that I felt as if something was wrong with me, I-I could feel it again. The pain in my chest. It's not just not a simple pain."
"Ha? What the hell are you talking about now?"
The pain that he was feeling was sucking out the strength of his inner wolf but he couldn't tell her that.
"Cohen, where are you going? Are you really going to leave me hanging? You are unbelievable!" Serra asked in annoyance.
Cohen couldn't afford to look back at her. He rushed his way to the temple of the Moon Goddess.
After, he lit up a red candle and got down on his knees. He closed his eyes and there went the Moon Goddess. She was now standing in front of him as if she too had been waiting for Cohen to visit her for a long time.
"What is happening to me, Moon Goddess? I-I know that I cheated on my mate, but I already rejected her." He licked his lower lip.
"I rejected her and cut ties with her. Why do I feel like you are still punishing me?"
"Why not? Did you think that you had successfully rejected your mate? But you didn't Cohen. The pain that you are feeling isn't from me. It's from the bond that you and Eero still have."
"What do you mean? Moon Goddess, I can't understand."
"I know that you can't, but the answer to all of these is in the hands of the Alpha Ameo and his Luna," the Moon Goddess said before she left Cohen.
Upon opening his eyes, Cohen immediately thought of the person who could help him out of this situation, which was Serra.
"Will you stop doing that? God, why are we acting as if we are sneaking around, Cohen? We can just ask them why you are still bonded with Eero even after you rejected her."
"No! You must not ask them that. You can't just ask them that," he cut her off.
"You should have just sent Serra with Alpha Claudius instead of Eero," Luna Vera said. The door to the Alpha's office was slightly open, and that was the reason both Cohen and Serra could hear the Alpha and Luna talking.
"Have you lost your mind? Why would I send my only daughter to become Claudius' breeder?"
"What a fool. You didn't get it." Luna Vera closed her eyes out of frustration.
"Of course not as his breeder but as his wife. You could have struck a deal with him. I will lose my mind with just the thought of that cruel Alpha discovering the truth that Eero is not our daughter!"
Hearing that, Cohen quickly realized why his rejection failed. He did it all wrong because Eero isn't from Alpha Ameo's lineage. She was someone else's daughter, and for him to reject her, Cohen must find out whose daughter and lineage she was from, which would be impossible for him to know.
Cohen chuckled bitterly.
"I think I know now why I am feeling this. Oh, God. It's because Eero is having sex with another man while she is still bonded with me. T-That's the reason behind this pain and why my wolf is getting weaker."
