Claudius’ perspective
I got up as soon as I felt that I was now all alone in bed after I tried searching for Eero with just my hand while my eyes were still closed earlier as I am still feeling asleep.
Her room is just the sized of my walk-in closet. All it takes is a few turns of head to check out the entirety of this place.
“Caspian!” He remained fast asleep, with drool flowing from her mouth.
“Caspian! Wake up!” I yelled at him, but just like before. His body remained motionless.
I grabbed the pillow behind me and threw it straight to his face.
“Wake the fuck-up!” Caspian was still half asleep when he got up from the floor. He turned to the door with his fist all ready to square up with anyone who posted us threat, but there was none and upon realizing that. He scratched the back of his head, and then he turns to me.
“Why would you wake me up like that, Alpha? I thought someone was attacking us, like on the verge of death,” Caspian whines before he sits back down on the floor, with his pair of eyes that were about to close again.
“As someone who was whining about how this place is not safe for us, you undeniably did get a good sleep.”
“Would you prefer I bugging you and Eero all night long than sleeping quietly?”
“Where is Eero?”
Caspian looked over the space next to me. I took another pillow and threw it towards him to knock a much needed sense in his head.
Caspian glared at me, and after it hit him that he was staring at me with a pair of dagger eyes, and I didn’t it. His eyes softened and he breathed out.
“I don't know, Alpha. Why would you ask me about her? You are the one lying next to her.” Caspian then motioned the blanket on the floor where he was sleeping at.
“Besides, I was still sleeping when you woke up, so how would I know? She is probably in the kitchen, eating breakfast or something,” he said before he lay back on the blanket. He even covered his face with his arm.
“Caspian, wake up. You need to get the fuck-up. We will leave in an hour.”
“Please wake me up five minutes before we leave. Why don't you go ahead and search for her downstairs, and please let me sleep in peace?”
Caspian's suggestion that Eero might be having her breakfast downstairs doesn't sound so bad. She didn't have anything for dinner, so it makes sense that she was probably starving when she woke up and went downstairs for a quick breakfast.
“Eero seems like she is in a better place compared to when she was here.”
I stopped on my trail after I heard a pair of women gossiping in the kitchen.
“Mandy, what are you trying to say? That the cruel Alpha is treating her better?”
“Sort of?” The other one doesn't sound so sure of herself, too. The one with a wavy hair chuckled mockingly.
“Why would the Alpha give her a special treatment? Eero is a breeder. In short, she is a pack's whore. Once the cruel Alpha got bored with her, she'll be everyone's toy back in that pack.”
The one with a straight, jet-black hair was the first to see me standing in front of the kitchen's arc door.
“I am telling you the truth. That is what’s going to happen to her,” the one with a wavy hair added. Slowly she turned around and when her eyes met mine. It felt like her heart momentarily top breathing.
I took threatening steps towards her. She closed her eyes and silently winced in pain as I grabbed her hair, bringing her ear closer to my lips.
“I am going to let this one slide, but if I hear anyone talking this about Eero again, I'll chop off their tongue and I will make sure to include yours, so you better make sure that no one else is gossiping about her like you do.” She nodded my head and I grabbed her harder before I let go of her hair.
I couldn't find Eero in the living room as well. I was about to walk out of the house when I heard whispers of male and female voices coming out from Ameo's study.
“God, what else can I expect you to do? The only thing that I was asking you two was to tame Eero, and yet you angered her.”
“You heard and see how she is now. She is not as gullible and naive as she used to be, Ameo. Now will you please stop blaming us? And just think of another plan to make her stay?" Vera asked her husband, who crumpled up my forehead.
“Now we are left with no choice but to kill Claudius and his beta. That is the only way that we can do to get Eero back,” Ameo said in a lower voice.
“You will do what? Are you insane? Why would you do that—”
“Trust me. We can do it. He is twice as strong as I am, but with our deltas and warriors. We can take them down. It's just him and his Beta.”
“Daddy,” Serra tried to cut him off, but Ameo couldn't be stopped from this evil plan of his.
“Of course, we will lose a lot of our deltas and warriors, but that won't matter as long as we can take them down.”
I stepped back from the door and walked back to the second floor, where Caspian was still sleeping. I pulled him up and held his shoulder.
“Alpha, what the hell it is that you want this time?”
“We need to look for Eero and leave the pack now!” I looked back at the door to be sure that no one else followed me.
“Ameo intends to kill us and with just the two of us, I am afraid that we can't beat them, so we need to escape now.”
