Eero’s perspective
“I-I don't want to be a breeder anymore. It's just my second day as a breeder, b-but I can't stand it anymore.”
“I just turned sixteen. I am not even an omega, and yet, they made me a breeder,” she said with her voice cracking.
Alpha Claudius looked at me and I quickly understood what he wanted me to do. I took the young girl from his arms into mine to make her felt protected.
She caught a whiff of something, and then she looked up at me.
“You were marked by the Alpha? You are now our Luna?” She asked me in a small voice. I only smiled at her.
Alpha Claudius started making his way to the common ground of the village. Instead of following the Alpha, Beta Caspian chose to check on the poor young girl.
“Averi, that is your name, right? You are the firstborn daughter of Logan? Where is your father?”
“Why did he let this happen to you?” He continued to ask. Beta Caspian's question caused me to look at him. He was implying that this girl's father had a position that should have secured her safety when the usurping happened. But now that she was made a breeder, something might have happened to her father.
“Averi, what happened to your father?”
“I am not sure, Beta. My father tried to protect the Alpha's position against Gamma Killian and Alpha Ameo,” she started. She looked at me and then back to Beta Caspian.
“Half of the pack's warriors did try to protect the Alpha's title and claim, but with half of our warriors and delta colluding with Gamma Killian and Alpha Ameo…”
“They didn't win,” Beta Caspian finished what the young girl was saying, while I was left speechless.
Not only did Alpha Ameo attempt to kill the three of us, he went as far as stealing Claudius' pack.
“Alpha Ameo brought my father into the dungeon and tortured him. I-I am not even sure if my father is still alive.”
Beta Caspian looked at me.
“I need you to bring her to the pack house. I want you to keep her safe, Eero. I’m going to help the Alpha defeat those traitors.”
I nodded my head at him. The beta watched us get inside the pack house before he ran toward where the Alpha had gone earlier.
“I thought I was going crazy when I heard that howl. The pack members were told that you, the Beta and the Alpha are all dead.” Cielo, who took a good moment to hold and stare at me to make sure that I was alive and not just an apparition, said.
I handed Averi to her and went back to the door to lock it.
“Where is the Alpha?” She asked.
“He went to see Gamma Killian. In order to get back his right as the Alpha of the pack, he needs to kill the usurper.” I told her.
“Can you grab a blanket or something for her?” I asked Cielo. She nodded her head before running upstairs to go get the thing that I was asking from her.
Smiling warmly, I wiped the tears off Averi’s cheeks.
“The Alpha is here. You'll be alright now. We will be alright now,” I assured her.
“I am no longer pure. Eight men have violated me.” Hearing that made me close my eyes.
I always thought that my life was the most miserable, but now there was Averi. Her life was way harder than mine. Even though I used to be a breeder just like her, I was used by the Alpha only.
Tears escaped from her eyes again, and I didn't know how I would wipe them as before.
“I haven't met my mate yet. When I finally meet him, he is definitely going to reject me.”
“Averi.”
“No man in their right mind would accept a mate that has been raped.”
In the corner of my eyes, I saw Cielo came with the blanket that I asked from her.
I took it from her hand and draped it over Averi's shoulders.
“I will pray that the Moon Goddess will gift you with a mate who has a heart of gold. He would love you so much, and your past won't matter to him.”
She looked at me in the eye. There, I finally saw a small spark of hope. It didn't matter even though it was just small. For now, that was enough because it would keep her alive.
“Miss Cielo, I will leave her with you. Make sure to lock the door after I got out.” She was fast to hold my arm.
“Where are you going, Eero?”
“Alpha Claudius needs my help.”
When I finally made my way to the common ground, the battle between Gamma Killian and Alpha Claudius had been over.
Alpha Claudius was badly wounded himself, limping as he walked towards me. Things with the Gamma who had betrayed him were much worse: his body ripped up, and his eyes still open when I found his disintegrated head.
“A-Alpha!”
“You should have stayed inside of the main house.”
“How can I? I was worried that something will happen to you!”
“What could possibly happen to me?” He asked. That made me frown. Even when he was limping, he was still arrogant.
“With you around, I am stronger than I've been before. I only need some time to recover a bit, and make sure that I have a huge number of warriors and deltas. Later, I will burn the Moon Rivers Pack to the ground,” he said, cursing my old pack.
Beta Caspian walked towards us, holding the heraldic flag that he tore from the tower.
“What should I do with this filth, Alpha?”
Alpha Claudius snatched it from his hand, and then he dropped it on the ground.
“Burn it.”
