I could almost jump for joy for how well that turned out. My little bug looked at me as if she knew I had something to do with Ashlee’s outburst. I wondered what she was thinking of doing about it. Her eyes held mine a little longer than I liked. Before making a bigger scene, she quickly looked away.
I guess she realized there was nothing to do in this situation but leave. I was Luna now, so I had the power. I got my wish as she calmly walked out of the courtyard into the pack house. It didn’t take long for the party to ramp back up as my mood went back to the usual happiness I felt earlier.
That was a cheap trick, Alaia. She was no threat to you Elena squeaked out.
As long as she’s here she’s a threat, Elena.
How?
She’s been with our mate, in an intimate fashion. Those feelings just don’t disappear overnight, Elena. You should know that by now.
If you focus more on being with our mate than these schemes, you wouldn’t be so insecure Elena growled back
I was a bit impressed by her attitude. I knew she was being cautious with her words but at times she finds a way to voice her opinion.
Just remember, Elena. This is more for you than me. I would gladly give all this up to be a witch again.
Elena didn’t respond. Of course she wouldn’t. Any threat to her time with Devon or Isaiah quiets her down like a good little wolf. Though I knew I would be just as devastated to be away from Isaiah because of the bond, I didn’t want her to know. I wanted her to feel like every moment with him was precious. As a matter of fact, where was my little Alpha?
I looked over to my right to see that Luna Bella was getting real cozy with a couple bottles of wine while Alpha Jack was doing his best to get them away from her. I wondered what was making her drink so heavily. She looked as if she wanted to tear someone apart. After a while he finally got her to sit down. Right next to me.
“Pardon us, Luna.” It felt weird having Alpha Jack call me Luna in front of Luna Bella, but much appreciated. “I’m just going to get her some more tea.”
I watched him walk away into the packhouse. I didn’t want to be left alone with a drunk she-wolf. She looked as if she wasn’t really in the mood to talk about whatever was going on. Something must've happened when she followed Isabella into the house. I wanted to pry but I could likely guess it had something to do with a disappearing Victoria. I turned to see her smiling at me while she sipped from her now full cup of tea. I have no idea where she could have gotten it from.
“You know, Luna Alaia. Now that everything is going the way it should. How long til I can get some grandbabies?" Luna Bella asked.
"I'm not sure. We haven't really talked about it yet." I felt a blush come on as she stared at me with a smile.
"Well the way you both were looking at each other tonight I don't think there's going to be much talking," Luna Bella giggled like a little girl. So this was what a drunk wolf looked like. “Besides, it's not like I’m going to get them from his sister.”
She hiccuped and giggled again, followed by a sad cry. I was starting to believe there was something a bit stronger than tea in her cup. I looked around for her mate hoping he would appear soon. I’m not well versed in drunk Luna as of yet. Isaiah must have felt my uneasy emotion because he was by my side in an instance. He noticed the situation and pulled me away.
"Hey how about we dance, hmm?" Instantly his deep voice calmed my feelings.
I quickly nodded and grabbed his hand as we made it to the makeshift dance floor in the yard. The first song was slow which was perfect since I didn’t dance much. Isaiah, on the hand, picked up on it and made the steps smaller just for me. How very thoughtful. I thought as I could feel Elena’s appreciation fill me.
He moved us both so sensually to the music while we stared into each other’s eyes. I wasn’t sure if it was him or the bond but his eyes were the perfect shade of gray that can make a girl fall at his feet. I could see myself waking up to them everyday.
Mate is gorgeous Elena purred.
She was relishing his closeness and feeling of him against our body. Hell the feeling was mutual. I felt as if my body perfectly fit into his. We were two parts of a perfect whole. At this moment I gave in to the feeling and melted against his chest. I could feel his breath on my skin sending little sparks down my body.
For a split second I thought of Maria and how she described these very same feelings for James. For a split second my heart ached at the thought that I couldn’t make James feel that way for me. Isaiah lifted my chin until I was staring at him.
“Tell me what’s wrong. Why did I feel sadness just now?” He asked with a worried expression.
Though we weren’t mated, he was still Alpha and I was part of his pack, so he could easily feel my emotions.
“Just thinking about the past and how my parents aren’t here to see this,” I lied. Well at least it was the half truth. He looked at me for a few more moments before nodding his head.
“I understand. I’m sorry that they're not here, Alaia. If they were, they would see what I see. The most beautiful person the Goddess could ever create. I would thank them and her everyday. I really can’t express how I’m feeling right now,” he said, spinning me around only to pull me back in.
“I think I can feel it,” I giggled, noticing his manhood pressed against my leg through my dress.
“You know, I think we’ve been down here long enough for my mother to appreciate it. We could call it a night,” Isaiah suggested with a mischievous grin.
Before I could say anything we heard a clang of dishes behind us. We turned and saw Luna Bella throwing dishes at Alpha Jack, who was dodging them easily. Isaiah sighed while grabbing the bridge of his nose.
“Let me help get my mother settled and I’ll be back. I promise.” He gave my hand a kiss and ran over to help his dad. I looked around to see if I could find my recent distraction and couldn’t find her anywhere. This was truly an entertaining ceremony I thought.
“I hope you’re having fun,” someone said, clearing their throat as I turned to see my brother. Well that goes with my earlier notion.
