The Alpha's Triangle

Chapter 34 Zack

Ch. 34 / 200 Jun 24, 2025

It’s been over a week since coming back and I finally received an invitation to my sister’s ceremony. Can’t believe she’s going to be a Luna of a pack in a few days. I won’t lie and say I’m not a little jealous of her finding her mate but I will be happy for her. Even if I feel this is a little fast.

Returning home without a mate was a bit disappointing but having a small pack was useful. We were all like a close knit family. No one made me feel bad or said anything about the interrupted marriage plans. Well, almost everybody.

I was sitting in my office going over the finances of a few diner chains I’ve acquired over the years when my Beta knocked on the door.

“Come in, Bronx.”

Bronx slowly opened the door and peeked inside. His short black hair was in its usual spiky style looking like horns coming through the crack. His dark blue eyes scanned the room as if he was going to see something horrifying.

“What are you doing,” I asked him.

“Wasn’t sure what kind of mood you’ll be in after-you know,” he said as he plopped himself down in one of the chairs.

I stared at him for a few seconds while he fiddled with the tail of his shirt. I knew he wanted to say something stupid but I wasn’t going to play his game. I went back to looking over my papers.

“So,” Bronx started, “how are you doing there, buddy?” He asked, looking at me with sorrowful eyes but knowing him I could tell he’s just being an ass.

“I’m fine,” I said cautiously. “Did you find the information I wanted?”

“Oh yeah,” Bronx pulled a flier from his pocket and placed it on the desk. “The bar owner is a witch from the Sacred Serenity Coven that got wiped out some years ago. Mirja Haynes.”

“Mirja.” Alexi perked up at the name.

I didn’t blame him. It sounded beautiful but she was a witch. The only part I dislike about the whole thing. I’ve only known two witches and one was completely insane. The fact that this one had a bar could only mean trouble for us.

The flier was for Wormhole. A bar about two hours away from here. The flier had a bunch of promotions and events. The bar logo matched the one on the box of matches.

“What about the wolf insignia I drew? Anything on that?”

Bronx shrugged his shoulders. “Well I went yesterday. So it was pretty quiet. Though there was this smoking hot bartender with a star tattoo over her eye that wanted a piece of your boi but I was like “No not unless you give me information” and she was like “Maybe we can find some place quiet to-”

“Bronx, can you just get to the point,” I asked, grabbing the bridge of my nose. I forget how much he likes the play by play.

“Fine. She said it looks like something from a gang of rogues that frequent there,” Bronx started, “ but that was after ten shots and a full foreplay session behind the bar.”

I growled at him. “You just can’t help yourself, can you?”

Bronx smiled, “I wouldn’t be me if I could. Besides I know secretly that’s the part of me you love. Why else would you make me your Beta?”

“Because your mother was a friend of mine and hoped with a little responsibility you would grow up,” I said, knowing that would shut him up. Only for a second though.

Bronx grabbed his chest as if he was in pain. “That hurts bro and I know it’s only because you’re in pain, too.” Here we go again I groaned. I knew exactly where this conversation was leading.

“So if you need a shoulder to cry on I know just the she-wolf,” Bronx continued.

“For the last time, I am not mating with your sister!”

Bronx stood up and threw his hands in the air. “Come on man! Emily’s only a year older than you, she’s super nice, unmated, loyal to the pack, and I’m pretty sure she’s kinda, might be, somewhat of a virgin.”

What the hell does that mean I thought to myself.

You’ve got to be kidding Alexi said in the back of my mind.

I couldn’t believe my Beta was seriously selling his sister to me. It’s been like this for the past year when she returned to the pack after graduating college with her masters. Now she’s working her way up the ladder at the pack’s clinic.

Don’t get me wrong Emily was a beautiful, smart woman but she was more of a yes girl and I didn’t need that. I wanted someone strong-willed and could shake things up just for the hell of it. Someone like Isabella. Just the thought of her made me smile.

“Aha! You’re smiling. You like the idea,” Bronx said, nearly jumping up and down. I can’t believe I replaced James with him, but at the time he was the next best fighter. Before I could disagree, Bronx pronounced loudly. “Is that the door I hear?” I looked at him confused until I heard the softest knock on the door.

What the hell is he up to now? Bronx opened the door to reveal a smiling Emily holding a paper bag in her hands.

You are relentless I yelled at Bronx.

I have no idea what you’re talking about. I didn’t know she was coming. Cross my heart, hope-. He said doing the motion.

Oh there’s no hoping, You will die I promised him.

I stood up as Emily made her way into the room. I watched as her straight black hair sashayed across the front of her yellow maxi dress. She was always very modest about her clothes making sure it wasn’t very revealing. It’s opposite of what I like about girls but I respected it. Emily stood in front of my desk avoiding eye contact. She looked back at Bronx who pointed to the bag. I knew it was going to get weird from here.

“Oh, I made these for you, Alpha Zack. Sorry I wasn’t here to greet you when you came back. I’ve been so busy at the pack hospital,” Emily said, handing me the bag.

“Thank you, Emily,” I said, looking inside the bag to find my favorite, black and white cookies. “These are my favorites.”

“Mine too,” she said excitedly, making eye contact for the first time.

They were the same dark blue hues as Bronx’s but something about her smile made them look even brighter. I couldn’t help but smile which in return made her blush. She looked back at Bronx who gave her the thumbs up and egged her on. This was insane.

“Actually I was wondering, Alpha Zack, if Bronx is willing, if you needed a plus one for your sister’s ceremony I’m sure I could take some time off from my duties,” Emily asked.

“Well I don’t want to keep you away from your work, Emily. I know you’re trying for Head of Department. Don’t let my personal affairs get in the way,” I said, glaring at Bronx who just shrugged his shoulders smiling that stupid grin of his.

You can’t hurt a person for trying, Bronx said.

Oh I can and you’re first up.

“Emily, I would be happy to give up my ticket. I think it best my two favorite people go out and have a nice night,” Bronx said, giving his sister a pack on the back, “and who knows maybe the goddess has plans for the both of you.”

Bronx and Emily, both, looked at me as if it was my turn to say something. Goddess please help me I thought just as someone knocked on the door. That was fast.
