The Alpha's Triangle

Chapter 63 Alaia

Ch. 63 / 200 Jun 24, 2025

After dealing with those Omegas I was a bit more irritated than usual. I decided it was time to check on my favorite witch. I took the grimoire from my office and transported myself to the bar. I walked in and noticed the changes Nas has made. The music was pure metal, the clientele was rougher than before with girls dancing on every platform, and the workers looked scared out of their minds. A part of me was disgusted by the change but right now I didn't have time to care. I had to find a way to open this book.

I made my way through the crowd to the basement. The moment I walked through the door a scream fell from Mirja’s mouth. Nas had her chained to the wall. There were little cuts on her from head to toe. Some were new while other ones turned into scars. She was half wolf like me so she didn’t heal as fast as a normal wolf. The silver chains around her wrists and feet didn’t cause any physical damage but it can still make her weak.

“Anything yet,” I asked as I plopped down in her chair.

“Tough cookie, this one, but I’m sure I can open her up. In one way or another,” Nas grinned. I guess he was having way more fun than I imagined.

“Why don’t you give us a moment, Nas? Maybe bring us a drink.”

“I’ll take a shot of my finest Brandy. Make that a double,” Mirja coughed up.

Glad to hear her talking about something. Maybe today’s my lucky day. Nas looked at me and I shrugged my shoulders. A little drink wouldn't hurt, especially in her condition. Nas cleans himself before leaving back upstairs.

“Mirja.” As I said her name she slowly moved up and gazed towards my voice. I noticed one of her eyes was swollen. A part of me wanted to run to her and stop all the pain, but I was on a mission and she was stalling it. “Just tell me how to read the book and I’ll let you go. I’ll get rid of Nas and his crew and you can have your bar back. I just need my powers back.”

She was quiet for a moment and her head fell back towards the floor. I thought she was thinking it over until I heard her sniffling which turned into laughter.

“Do you know what I lost to help you keep that little bit of power around your neck,” she asked through gritted teeth.

“What are you talking about?” I was intrigued by what she said. What did she have to sacrifice and why I wondered. “What did it take from you?”

Mirja turned away from me. Clearly it must have been important. I pity her. I pity the situation she’s in. I couldn't understand why I would torture someone who helped me when no one else cared. I truly did care for her but I guess I cared for myself more. I had a mission to give myself the almost perfect life, if only she cooperated.

“Mirja-”

“That book doesn’t just give. It takes and apparently you don’t have anything it wants.”

“Then tell me what I can give it,” I yelled. Clearly frustrated she was tip-toeing around the question.

“I should’ve never helped you. I should’ve let them drain you of all the magic they could grab from your stupid body,” she spat at me.

I stepped closer to her to touch her face but she pulled away from me. I forcibly grabbed her chin and forced her to look at me with her good eye. I could feel the anger rolling off her in waves but I couldn't care less. My feelings for her took the back burner.

“Mirja, I still care for you.” She scoffed. “I do but you have to know I would do anything to get what I want. Right now it is this book. How do you open it?”

Mirja shifts between my eyes. “I would rather die than tell you anything. You are nothing to me and hope you get what you deserve.”

I sighed with frustration and dropped her face at the same time Nas walked through the door with a bottle. I rushed over and took the bottle and took a long swig. The liquor burned and I embraced it.

“Save some for the rest of us,” Nas said, taking the bottle from my lips.

“She’s not going to give me what I want. Do whatever you want to her.”

I left the room with the book in my hand. I was going to figure out how to open it without Mirja’s help. I’ve come too far to give up now. I returned to my room with the grimoire in hand when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. Mary was holding a waste bin, staring at me with wide eyes. She must've seen me just walk out of the portal from the closet door. I was so in my head about Mirja I didn't think to check to see if anybody was here. I never really have to worry about Isaiah. I pretty much know his schedule but the help was another thing. They were slowly getting on my nerves. I slowly walked up to Omega Mary.
