The Alpha's Triangle

Chapter 72 ZIRA

Ch. 72 / 200 Jun 24, 2025

We weren't on the road long until Isabella got a call. She pulled the car over to the side of the road. I started to panic but didn't show it. I waited for her to say something but she didn't. About five minutes in, I started to open my mouth when her side of the door opened.

“It’s going to be okay,” she said, getting out of the seat and letting Isaiah slide into the driver’s seat.

He looked at me and I noticed his gray eyes still held anger in them. My heart elevated as I pressed my back against the door facing him. For a moment I thought I was having another dream. My nerves started to calm when I saw Isabella slide into the back seat.

“Relax, Zira. I’m not going to hurt you,” Isaiah growled as he pulled off, keeping his gaze on the road.

We drove for a few minutes before I settled back into the seat, pulling the towel tighter against my body. We didn't talk the whole ride and I was glad. I didn't know what to say about everything that happened. It felt like I didn’t have control over what I was saying and Isaiah.

The way he looked at me like I was the most hated person in his life broke my heart. I get it. I do. I would be mad if someone was trying to get rid of my seed. Hell I might even try to attack them too. I just really thought I was doing him a favor, both of them.

I realized we were back at the pack and we passed my house. Deja vu. I turned to look at Isaiah and noticed his tight grip on the wheel. I guess telling him he already passed my house was out of the question. I glanced back at Isabella who gave me a small smile and shrugged her shoulders.

Of course she was no help when it came to knowing what’s on her brother’s mind at this moment. I'm sure he's blocking everyone from his thoughts. In minutes we pulled in front of the pack house. Isaiah hurried out of the car and walked to my side. He opened the door and I slowly got out adjusting the towel.

“Let’s go,” he commanded as I fell in step behind him. Not that I had a choice.

I followed him through the pack house to my old room. He opened the door and ushered me in. He slammed the door behind me as I stood there looking at the closed door. I was half expecting him to burst back in. After about five minutes of staring at the door I walked over and realized it was locked.

Great! Now I’m a prisoner.

Let’s be lucky that’s all Nina growled.

I knew she was angry about all this. She's been fighting me tooth and nail all week until this morning. I told her I was doing this and that was that. So she’s been blocking me all day.

Can you give me a break? I didn't go through with it. That should count for something I pleaded with her.

I didn't need her down my back either. She didn't respond, so I gave up on trying to talk to her. I sat down on the bed waiting for something and realized I was hungry. I tried linking someone and I got nothing. Maybe everyone is blocking me today. Well if I don't die from giving birth maybe I'll die from hunger.

To pass time, I took another shower. I looked around for some clothes but couldn't find any. I rarely sleep here so I never bring clothes from home. I either wear something of Isabella or wear the ones I borrowed from Isaiah. I found some shorts and a t-shirt. It was one of his black fitted shirts which looked ridiculous with my belly poking out the bottom. Even after being washed I could still smell his scent on them. It was calming.

After ten more minutes of laying on my bed, I got bored and went back to the door. Thinking maybe he unlocked it after calming down. Wishful thinking but it wouldn't hurt to try it. As I reached for the door, it quickly opened and my family walked in with some of my stuff. My mother glanced at me only for a second before ushering my brother and dad around, placing my things in different areas of the room.

Not one person acknowledged me, so I sat on my bed watching them work. After everything was done, it was my mother who spoke first. They all stood in front of me, looking down at me. It was a bit intimidating.

“Is there something you want to say to us, Zira Lake,” my mother asked with her arms crossed over her chest.

Well at least she didn’t say my full name. That’s a good start. “Um, did you happen to bring any food?”

“Zira Amethyst Lake, do not joke right now,” my father chimed in.

Great! Now my greatest ally is angry with me too. “What? I'm literally starving. It's been a rough day.”

“You’ve been having a rough day,” my mom laughed, sarcastically. I think I’ve just hit a button I thought.

“Let’s see," my mom continued. "I woke up early today like I usually do every day, make breakfast just in time for your dad to get home from training. Wash the dishes and busy myself with small chores until my daughter tells me she’s going to have a spa day with Isabella at the next town. That sounds great I thought to myself.

Maybe I should do a little spa treatment too. So your dad graciously runs me a bath. So sweet of him. So I get my favorite book and a glass of wine, only to get a link from the Alpha that you need clothes and a few things because you’re going to be locked in at the pack house for trying to get an abortion!”

Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry. I kept saying to myself as I held my head down through the whole rant. I knew there were tears in my eyes and I felt a bit of shame for them finding out like this.

"Mom, I'm sorry. I wasn't thin…"

"Of course you weren't thinking straight, Zira. You were dealing with all this by yourself, never letting people in," she said, sitting next to me and grabbing one of my hands. "We are a family and we deal with things like a family. We always have. So it hurts when my only daughter feels like she can't talk to me or us. It hurts when she makes a decision like this when neither of us are there to support her."

She began drying my face with the sleeve of her blouse.

"Mom, Dad, I really am sorry. I just didn't want you all involved and get in trouble too."

My dad walked to the other side of me and grabbed my other hand. "Z-bug, as long as you're our daughter, we will always be involved. We do things as a family, no matter what the situation.”

I nodded as they both gave me a hug. They were right and as usual I did things my way and screwed up.

Wow. Just wow. Who’s been saying this from the beginning Nina interrupted.

Really? Right now you want to say I told you so. Where were you at the hotel?

Blocked again. Isabella is right. Someone is fucking with us and I don’t like it Nina said.

A knock at the door broke our little family embrace. I looked at my mom who seemed to understand what that meant. My dad went and cracked open the door to speak to someone. He turned around and nodded at my mom.

“What’s going on,” I asked as my family prepared to leave.

“Well, this time you screwed up big, Zi,” my brother Zed started. I could tell he was a bit pissed at me, more than usual. “Now the Alpha thinks we might’ve had something to do with this.”

Zed left without saying another word. I looked at my mom who stood up bringing me into a hug.

“Don’t worry. We will see you soon. Right now just be on your best behavior, please,” she pleaded.

“We love, Z-bug. So if you gotta give them hell, do it properly,” my dad, making my mom and me laugh.

They left the room and I heard the lock on the door. Guess I’m stuck here til I have this baby. Just alone, waiting to die.

Hey, I’m right here Nina said.

I know but even you hate me right now.

Hate is such a strong word. Dislike you because you're constantly making stupid decisions that affects us both without considering my thoughts is more like it.

Thank you Nina I laughed. You always know exactly what to say. Thank you Nina I laughed. You always know exactly what to say.

Like it or not Zira. We’re in this together and I don't know about you but I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.

I laid down on my bed with fresh tears rolling down my face. Not tears of sadness but of joy. Joy that even after all of this I still had my family and my wolf on my side. Joy that I still had people who loved me despite my faults and that was worth living for. Or least trying to live for.
