REJECTED; Mated To The Alpha I Hate

Chapter 19

Ch. 19 / 118 Apr 29, 2025

Dane's POV.

“Edmond must have told her, Alpha Dane! There's no way she must have heard it from someone else!” Ivar informed me like he was pretty sure, and immediately, my fist clenched.

How the fuck was it possible that Astrid would go to the Greenstone Pack to apologize to someone who had made her look like a fool in the past? “Is she that stupid?” I questioned inwardly with my eyes lowered to the ground.

“That's why they were together that day... Edmond… What games are you trying to play?” I muttered to myself, my knuckles clenching in rage.

There was a high possibility that if Edmond was closer to me at this point, I wouldn't hesitate to punch him in the face, making him realise that he had messed up big time.

“Alpha Dane, if she had gone to the Greenstone Pack as we have assumed, don't you think she must have arrived there by now?” Ivar informed me, and that was when I realised how much of a fool Astrid was going to make me look.

“She dare not mock me before those inferior fools!” I declared as I turned on my heels and began to walk towards my car.

Ivar followed me from behind, trying to catch up with my pace. The second I stood before the car, I didn't hesitate to open the door and climb into it swiftly.

Ivar, with urgency coursing through his veins, climbed into the driver's seat, and without a second thought, he turned on the engines of the car and zoomed out of sight.

We were headed for just one place, and that was the Greenstone Pack. I could feel my rage boiling as we drove in the direction of the pack, and if it were true that Astrid was there, I definitely wouldn't take it lightly with her. Not now, not ever.

After what felt like an eternity, we soon came to a stop, with Ivar stepping on the brakes with so much force that it made a screeching sound. We were right before the Greenstone pack.

Just as I was about to climb out of the car, Ivar held my hand, stopping me right in my tracks. I swiftly turned to him, wondering for a second what he really wanted from me.

“Is there a problem, Ivar?” I asked, raising my brows as I stared into his eyes.

“Not really, Alpha Dane... I...” he faltered, irritating me to the core.

“Can you just speak up? We don't have the whole day!” I commanded with a deep voice, which immediately made him summon up the courage to say what he really had in mind.

“Can you promise not to harm anyone? The guards are innocent; only Astrid is here to kneel before Camilla and Halfdan.” He notified me, making me scoff immediately.

“I'm sorry, Ivar, but I can't make such weak promises!” I pulled my hand out of his grip. “If they refuse to act accordingly, I won't hesitate to rip their flesh and skin off each layer of their body!” I whispered fiercely.

“But that would cause a war, Alpha Dane. Spilling blood isn't…” Ivar panicked as he tried to explain but before he could finish his statement, I cut in.

“They sought war, Ivar, remember?” I rolled my eyes in awe as I turned my gaze away from him and opened the door.

Before he could utter a single word to me again, I had already slammed the car door and began to trudge authoritatively towards the gates.

I pushed the gates open like they were nothing, and at the sight of me, several men, positioned at separate corners of the place, rushed towards me, ready to fight and positioned to kill.

“You all look prepared today, so I guess my Luna is here... Where is she?” I questioned, my eyes darting to each of their faces.

From the look of things, they weren't ready to speak or say a word to me, and it made me sore when I got delayed responses.

“I'll ask again, where is my Luna?” I gave them a second chance, hoping they'd obey, but I guess I was wrong.

Just as I was still trying to get their response, I sensed someone running towards me from behind, and with swift and calculated action, I turned immediately and snatched him by the neck.

“You shouldn't have!” I smirked as I glared into his eyes.

He tried to reach for my strait, but without hesitation, I tightened my grip more on his neck.

He dabbed on my hand countless times, pleading that I stop, but I didn't. I didn't let go of him.

“Let's all just use this as an example... Someone should tell me what room my mate is in, and I'll let him go!” I acted like a kind Alpha again, but this time, they responded violently.

They all began to charge towards me, and because there were about seven men at a go, I tossed the man I had in my grip to the ground and swiftly shifted into my wolf form, although it was just my claws.

“Alpha Dane, you go ahead; I'll hold them back!” Ivar urged me the second he rushed closer to where I stood.

“I can't go now, not when I don't know where Astrid is!” I said, glaring at the men charging towards us.

“She's in their chamber; the throne chamber; so I heard! Now go!” Ivar encouraged me, and immediately I did as he had instructed.

Anyone that stood in my way got it hot from me, but soon I was out of their clutches or reach. Ivar was strong enough to make them stay still.

The second I got to Halfdan's throne chambers, I didn't hesitate to push the door open forcefully. My sight immediately caught the scene of Astrid trying to go on her knees, and it irritated me to the core.

“What are you trying to do, Astrid? mock me?” I walked towards her as I asked, my glare fixed right into her eyes. I was thinking she was going to be apologetic, but she wasn't.

“I never asked for your presence… Why are you here?” She snapped, making my brows crease instantly.

“You left the mansion just to come here to do what? Mock me, and you ask why I came? Let's go now!” I grabbed her hand, ready to drag her out, but she immediately pulled her hand out from my strong grip.

“Let go! I'm not going anywhere yet, not when I'm not done with what I came here for!” She declared defiantly.

Who knew she'd be this stubborn?

“I said…” I was going to grab her hand again and leave, but this time, Camilla cut in, something she shouldn't have done.

“What a loser for a mate... I knew she would always be this way… Too weak to be mated to an Alpha!” She satirised, Astrid's expression changing from a willful stare to a scowl at Camilla.

Hearing what Camilla had said, I couldn't stand back; I couldn't hold in my rage. I turned towards where she sat, and with swift strides, I scurried towards her.

“What do you want?” She stared at me as she asked, her body trembling at my presence close to her.

With a taunting smile on my lips, I reached for her hair. Tracing every tiny strand that covered part of her face, I maliciously tucked it at the back of her ear, and just as she least expected, I snagged her neck, tightening my grip.

“Let her go, Dane!” Halfdan tried to stop me, but I immediately punched him in the face, making him fall to the ground, before I turned back to look at Camilla.

“I would warn you to behave yourself before me, Camilla... I'm not as foolish as your walking dead Alpha... Is that clear?” I warned through my gritted teeth, and before she could utter another word, I pushed her to the ground, a painful cry emitting from her lips.

“Stay away from Astrid and me, or else my next visit won't be this peaceful!” I pivoted on my heels and walked over to where Astrid was standing.

I bet she was expecting me to drag her arm this time, but I didn't. The second I got closer to her, I jacked her into my arms in a bridal style, not caring what she'd do.

“Put me down! Put me down, Dane!” She struggled to get out of my grip, but I didn't let her go freely.

I carried her to the exit, and seeing that all Halfdan's men were on the ground, a smile curled across my lips.

They were just injured and not dead; they should thank the moon goddess; I wasn't the one doing the beating.

The second we got to the car, Ivar opened the door, and without hesitation, I shoved Astrid into the backseat, climbing in immediately just to make sure she didn't run away.

“Let go of me!” She was going to open the second door beside her and run away but I embraced her tightly as a way of holding her in place.

“Let go!”

“Drive now, Ivar!” I commanded with a deep voice.
