REJECTED; Mated To The Alpha I Hate

Chapter 31

Ch. 31 / 118 Apr 29, 2025

Dane's POV

Seeing that it was Edmond who had blocked our path, I didn't hesitate to walk over to where he was standing.

He clearly had crazy and cunning intentions, just as I had imagined. There was no way someone driving would just run into an incoming car and stop before it.

He had a plan, but at this point, his plans had failed because I couldn't die in Edmond's hands. He was evil to the core, and that was all I could say.

“Alpha Dane, I am…” he was about to apologise and act like he didn't enjoy what he had just done, but I didn't give him the chance.

“You wanted to kill the Alpha of the Red Moon pack, didn't you? You are trying to commit treason and act like you didn't know what you were doing?” I scoffed as I glared at him.

“Come on, Alpha Dane… I didn't mean to run into you that way… fine, it was my fault, and I apologise, but I didn't know it was your car either!” He lied at this point, making me laugh out loud.

If there was anyone who would lie about not knowing my cars, it definitely wasn't Edmond but Astrid, because she was new to the pack.

As it stood, most of the cars I owned were handed over to me by the elders of the pack, and the one I was currently driving was part of a gift from the elders.

“You really don't know, or are you trying to feign innocence?” My hands slid into my pockets as I questioned him.

“How would I know your car? You have so many that I have lost count and recognition of them, Alpha Dane!” he uttered, his tone dripping with malice.

“You make me laugh, Edmond… you personally handed the keys to this car to me… were you planning to take it away by killing me? Giving me the car that would kill me?” I snarled, knowing how much he disliked it when his evil intentions were revealed.

“Come on, Alpha Dane… I…” he stuttered, clearly showing that he knew what he had done.

“Listen up, Edmond… I'll let this slide, but the next time you try to pull such a stunt on me, I won't hesitate to give you what you deserve, even if it means killing you. Is that clear?” My left brow furrowed as I glared at him.

“Kneel and apologise to Alpha Dane this minute,” Beta Ivar commanded from behind. I bet he was angry himself, seeing that he could have died in such a careless way.

“What?” Edmond exclaimed, his eyes squinting as he stared at Ivar. “How dare you make such a statement, Ivar?” His fist clenched as he yelled at Ivar, who didn't care about what he was saying.

“You tried to kill the Alpha of the Red Moon pack… don't you think kneeling and apologising is just the tip of the iceberg if you were to get punished, Elder Edmond?” Ivar urged, his tone tinged with fury and scorn.

“You are not the Alpha, Ivar… Only Alpha Dane can utter such a decree, and he hasn't… he didn't give such!” Edmond stated, thinking he was free, but just then, I snorted.

“Kneel before me, Edmond!” I declared, and immediately, he snapped his gaze to look at me.

“You heard me, Edmond… kneel and apologise now! Or do you want to go through the usual process of getting punished?” I threatened, my left brow arched as I watched him go dumb for a split second.

“But Alpha Dane you…” he was going to say, but I cut him short.

“Since you won't do as I say, Edmond… Why don't we meet in the mansion? Maybe there you will kneel and get several strokes to make you apologise!” I turned on my heels swiftly.

I was going to leave after all; his apology meant nothing to me. Just as I took a step forward, heading back to the car, Edmond's voice immediately broke through the intense atmosphere.

“I am sorry, Alpha Dane!”

I turned around to him after halting, and the sight before me made me smile. He was kneeling and apologising to me just as I wanted.

I was going to let him kneel for a long time, but I still had so much to do, so much to think about.

“You are forgiven, but just this time!” I smirked as I watched him stand to his feet.

“Thank you, Alpha Dane, but I'm curious too…” he suddenly let out, his head still bowed.

“And what is that, Edmond?” I questioned, staring at him as I waited for his response.

“The Alpha of the Red Moon pack should be in his pack, but right now, you are coming from the Greenstone pack…” he lifted his head as he walked closer to me.

“Is there something you are hiding from us? And why is your mate not with you, Alpha Dane?” He sneered, making my fist clenched tightly. He was still a vicious old man. His apology was just a pretence to his true identity.

“Why don't you mind your business, Edmond!” I stated, rolling my eyes in disgust.

“I don't mean to interfere, Alpha Dane, but then…” I cut in.

“But then, you shouldn't ask, Edmond!” I declared, scrutinising him from his head to his toe.

It was then I noticed something different and thrilling. He had bloodstains on his dress. The tip of his hand was stained with blood.

Seeing that I had caught sight of his hand, he immediately hid it behind himself, forcing a smile onto his lips.

“Why do you have bloodstains on your dress?” I asked, my brows creased with confusion.

“I went hunting, Alpha Dane… and I was going back home to clean up. I'm sorry for hitting you again… I'll be taking my leave now!” He stated abruptly with a bow and without a second word from me, he got into his car, started the engine, and zoomed off.

“It's time to leave, Alpha Dane!” Beta Ivar called my attention, seeing how I had kept staring at Edmond driving away from my sight.

Without hesitation, I turned on my heels and headed for the car. The second I got into it, I still couldn't take my mind off the stains on his hand.

“Beta Ivar?” I called, my eyes still fixed on the windscreen.

“Alpha!” Beta Ivar responded, bowing his head to me at this moment.

“Find out what Edmond has been up to lately… it's obvious that he is up to no good!” I commanded, my fist tightening. I was sure he had something to do with Astrid's disappearance.

‘Why haven't I thought about this all this while? It's obvious that he knows something about this!’
