REJECTED; Mated To The Alpha I Hate

Chapter 17

Ch. 17 / 118 Apr 29, 2025

Astrid's POV.

“Greenstone pack!” I notified the second I climbed into the cab, and without hesitation, the driver nodded his head.

Igniting the engines of the car, he no longer hesitated to step on the accelerator of his car. We headed for the border of the pack, and from there, I was sure to find my way.

“You are making a silly mistake, Astrid! Let's turn around and head back! Alpha Dane won't like this! Let him get revenge for you; you don't have to be this silly!” Kyla went on and on, but I wasn't giving her a listening ear.

I had planned on making it happen, and either I went there to mock Alpha Dane for using me as his pawn or I made Camilla pay dearly for trying to make me look like a fool.

“Kneel and beg her? What an insult!” I scoffed as I tightened my grip while I sat down calmly inside the car. From what was happening, I bet they were not going to expect me to be in their pack soon.

Just as the car kept driving in my direction, I couldn't help but recall Edmond’s words to me about how I would come back to my knees, begging him. His words instantly infuriated me, making me wonder why I had stopped and listened to him when he spoke.

“I guess the Redmoon pack is filled with fools!” I stated, a scoff leaving my lips voluntarily.

My eyes were placed out of the car that I didn't actually realise when we arrived right at the border of the pack.

“We are here, ma'am; this is how far I can go.” The driver's voice boomed in the car, pulling me out of my thoughts.

“Thank you!” I handed his pay to him, and without a second thought, I climbed out of the car. It was best if I went on foot to cross the boundary of the pack.

Finding my way towards the Greenstone Pack was becoming pretty difficult because it's been a while since I came over to see just anyone, and even worse, it brought back sad memories.

The second I was done crossing the border lines, I got into another cab. “The pack's mansion!” The man nodded, and I continued my journey to Alpha Halfdan’s home.

After what felt like an eternity, we soon arrived at the gates, and without hesitation, I did the needful and climbed out, standing before the same gates I swore never to see or cross again no matter what.

“You've pushed your luck, Camilla... You must apologise to me instead!” I tightened my fist as I declared.

I was about to take a step forward when Lyla’s voice rang out again.

“This is your last chance, Astrid... Turn around now, and let's leave! The second you cross those gates, then there's no turning back for you or for us! We could get killed too!” She warned, and I understood her fear pretty well.

If someone had tried to kill me just for me to sign their divorce papers, then trust me, there was nothing impossible for them.

“Nothing will happen... I'm sure of it!” I said reassuringly, with a smile tugging at the side of my lips.

“You sound so sure... Is someone coming to your aid when they try to strangle you?” She asked, and because I didn't want to speak anymore, I ignored her and went my way.

The second I got to the gate, the guards there knew who I was, so they didn't stop me that easily.

“Where is Alpha Halfdan and Camilla, his Luna?” I questioned them, focusing on them as I awaited their response to my question.

“Right at the throne chamber, Luna Astrid!” They bowed to me as they responded, giving me more guts to do what I had come for.

I went straight towards the place they had said their Alpha was. I knew almost every part of the pack, so it wasn't that difficult to locate Alpha Halfdan's throne chambers.

Soon, standing before the door, I took a deep breath before I reached for the door handle.

Pushing it open, I was welcomed by the glaring sight of both Camilla and Halfdan from where they sat down.

"Well, well, well, she has finally come to me to apologise for what she has done!” Camilla snarled as she reached for Halfdan's hand.

It was evident that she wanted me to be jealous of her, but that was never going to happen, not when my feelings for him were long dead.

“What are you waiting for? Kneel and beg right now! We might forgive you and forgive your Mate too, as you call him!” Halfdan mocked him as a sneer curled up on his lips.

I walked into the place, and standing right in the middle of the hall, I thought about just one thing: how I was going to pierce the knife in my hand into Camilla's skin.

‘It’s best I wait for her to come to me!’ I said, knowing what I was going to do.

“We are waiting, Astrid!” Camilla struck her hand on the chair she sat on. She was getting impatient, and that was the only way to get her out of her seat and disobey her.

“We both know you lied, Camilla... I never tried to push you!” I defended with so much boldness in my tone.

“What? How dare you come here to spew nonsense?” Her fist tightened as she glared at me from where she sat.

“It's pretty possible too that you are not pregnant for Alpha Halfdan!” I let out, and just then, it was going to happen: Camilla was going to stand on her seat in rage.

“How dare you try to...” she was going to say as I reached for the knife, ready to strike at such an intense moment, but just as I was going to pull it out, the doors to the chamber's were pushed open, drawing our attention towards it.

“What are you trying to do, coming here, Astrid? Mock me?” Alpha Dane's voice roared inside the place.

He had obviously ruined my plans.
