Dane's POV.
The second I got into the room, the strong stench of blood wafted through my nostrils, coupled with the fact that there were rogues kneeling before me.
They had their glares fixed on me as I entered. They knew me and they knew how ruthless I could be. With a smirk tugging at my lips, I walked over to where they were kneeling, and I couldn't help but tighten my fist in anger knowing that they were the ones who had held Astrid for days.
“No matter what, we won't say a single word to you, Dane! You are…” one of them began to utter through his gritted teeth, but immediately, my Gamma, who stood right behind me, didn't hesitate to charge forward and punch him in the face.
“How dare you utter the name of my Alpha without respect? Don't you have any respect for your Alpha?” he yelled as his blow to the kneeling rogue's face sent waves of pain through him.
He was expected to keep silent, but he didn't. Instead, he began to laugh, his sudden shift in emotions making me pause for a split second.
‘Was he insane?’ I thought inwardly as I kept staring at him.
“I see this is funny to you!” I uttered, indirectly trying to understand why he was laughing at this point.
“You are not our Alpha!” another snarled, his eyes and attention fixed on me from where he was kneeling.
“Of course…” I scoffed, turning to him. “I am not your Alpha, I can never be your Alpha, but that doesn't mean you'll keep the truth away from me…” I turned to all of them at the end of my statement.
“We won't tell you anything! You could go fuck yourself,” he resounded, making me turn my attention back to him.
I wasn't sure what his name was, but if I were to give him one, it would definitely be Brave. He had the guts, he had so much guts to speak up to me that way.
“You amaze me, Brave… you know, there's this saying…” I crouched down to his level as he knelt on the floor. His hands were tied and so were his legs.
I snatched his chin and, staring deeply into his eyes, I spoke up, “Only the truth shall set you free… I'm sure you've heard about it… right?”
“I'll never say a single word to you! Not after what you've done!” he spat on the floor as he emitted.
His words made me laugh, and even more thrilling, spitting on the floor. My Gamma was going to charge towards him and teach him a lesson, but at this point, I didn't want that.
With my hand lifted in the air, I stopped him from coming further.
“Let him hit me! Hit me, you fucking son of a bitch! Hit me! Kill me!” he shrieked, vibrating on his knees.
“I see you want death… I'm sorry, Brave one… but it won't come easily… remember my words when I got in here? Obey me and you get whatever you want, but disobey me…” I paused as I grabbed his hand, menacingly staring at it.
“And your claws get plucked out one after the other!” I let go of his hand before staring back at him.
“You will do no such thing, Dane!” he lashed out, a smirk tugging at the corner of my lips.
I stood to my feet and, with my hands sliding into my pockets, I stared at them.
“You know, I was going to start with him over there, but I guess you are the lucky one!” I stated, darting my gaze to the last person kneeling by my right before I turned back to look at him.
“I won't say a word!” he repeated, making me nod.
“I know, Brave… you've said that to me before, but I'll keep giving you chances to correct your wrongs…” my smile immediately turned into a frown at this point.
“Playtime is over!” I declared, scowling at him. “Who sent you?” I inquired, my eyes piercing deep into his.
He kept mute but didn't stop staring back at me. The nerves! The guts!
“Going dumb? Who fucking sent you to get my mate?” I asked again, but this brave one wouldn't speak to me.
“Kiss my ass, Dane!” he snarled, making me react swiftly.
I couldn't hold in the anger and disgust that boiled deep in my soul. Without thinking twice, I slapped him right across the face harshly, the sting it gave made his expression change into that of a pained she-wolf.
“For the last time…” I massaged my wrist, twirling my hand that I had used to slap him viciously. “Who sent you to take my mate away from the pack?” I questioned again, and this time, he wasted no second in showing me how stupid and foolish he could be.
He spat on my shoe, making me feel utterly disgusted and irritated.
“What the hell is…” my Gamma was going to hit him, but with my hand raised in the air, he halted right in his tracks.
“But Alpha Dane, he disrespects you without thinking twice! Let me deal with him!” he begged, but I didn't want that.
I had other plans for him.
“Untie him, take him, and bind him to the metal pole,” I commanded, and my Gamma didn't hesitate to obey my every command.
“Yes, Alpha!” he bowed his head as he walked over to the rogue on the floor.
I didn't hesitate to stride over to the table, and with anger written all over my face, I took my black leather gloves and put them on. The black mask that was on the table didn't escape my grasp. I put it on and, seeing I was ready, I turned back to the rogue that was already tied to the pole.
“You will never get a single word out!”
“Oh, won't I?” I scoffed as I turned to my Gamma. I didn't need to say a word to him; he knew what I needed.
“Here it is, Alpha Dane!” he handed over a bottle to me. It was hot, but because of my gloves, I wouldn't feel the burn.
“What… what are you going to use that for?” he stuttered as he stood against the pole. He was tied with metal ropes, so there was no way he would escape.
“Are you scared?” I chuckled defiantly. “Don't be; it's just some liquid that will help me get what I need from you… now, Brave Rogue… let out your inner wolf!”
“Arrrrggghhh!”
