REJECTED; Mated To The Alpha I Hate

Chapter 46

Ch. 46 / 118 Apr 29, 2025

Astrid's POV:

Watching them from afar and how Edmond had kept turning to look at me, there was definitely no doubt that they had brought me into their conversation.

I was only trying to run towards Alpha Dane and see if I could calm him down after what had happened, but at this point, I was pretty sure that he just didn't want to meet with Edmond.

I tried focusing on their discussion to see if I could hear anything, but who was I kidding? Edmond was secretive, and I wasn't going to hear a single word no matter how hard I tried.

Just then, Alpha Dane excused himself and left Edmond all alone. I was going to turn around and head into the mansion, but unfortunately, I was stopped by Edmond who suddenly got a strong grip on my hand, halting me in my tracks.

“Long time no see, Luna Astrid!” he sneered as he glared right into my eyes. I could see it all—the malice, the evil intent, the sinister plots. He was definitely behind it all, and there was no doubt about it.

“Let go!” I pulled my hand out of his grip forcefully, although he had planned on holding me down for longer.

“I see you have become even stronger… I was just going to say hello, but don't forget this, I'm watching your every move, Luna Astrid!” he snarled before a frown covered his face. Without a second glance at me, he walked away.

Watching him leave, I couldn't help but feel so uncomfortable. I wondered why he hadn't been killed yet. He deserves death at this moment.

After a few seconds, the thought of Alpha Dane came to me, and with a gasp leaving my lips, I headed right into the mansion.

He wasn't in the living room or his study, so I headed right for his room, our room. The second I got to the door, I placed my hand on the doorknob.

“You can do this, Astrid!” I mumbled before I pushed the door open.

The second I walked into the room, I was met with a worried-looking Alpha. I closed the door, hoping that at least I could make him stay calm, but just as I took a step, and Alpha Dane's sight caught my presence, he wasted no time in trudging towards where I was standing.

“Alpha Dane, you…” Just as I was about to say, he got a strong grip on my neck, his hand digging into my skin, ready to pierce it at this point.

“Alpha Dane! You are… you are making me suffocate! Stop!” I shrieked as I tapped on his hand countless times, trying to pull out from his grip but it was impossible.

His grip was stronger than ever, and I was certain that I could die in the next few minutes if he didn't let go.

“How dare you defy me! How dare you, Astrid!” he growled, furiously pushing me backwards and letting me collide with the wall in the room.

He pressed me harder against the wall. Trust me, I tried my best to leave, but it was impossible. It felt as though he had been completely possessed by his anger and had allowed it to control him.

“Let me go! Let go, Dane! I don't know what you are talking about!” I declared, but he still didn't listen to me.

At this point, I was definitely beginning to regret why the heck I had come to the room in the first place. I could have just stayed away from him, at least.

“You don't know? Don't lie, Astrid! You promised never to! You said I could trust you! And where has that gotten me now?” His grip became tighter, my mouth opened in a circle shape as I began to choke and see the light on the other side.

Just as he kept strangling me, trying to end my life, the door to the room was instantly pushed open and Beta Ivar came to my rescue. It was as though he had heard me all this while screaming for help.

“Alpha Dane, stop!” he stated, pushing Alpha Dane to the side and setting me free. “She's your Luna!”

The second his grip around my neck loosened, I found myself falling to the ground, coughing and cradling my neck as I tried to catch my breath.

My eyes had turned red at this point.

“Luna Astrid, are you okay?” Beta Ivar crouched down to my level as he asked, his focus fixed on me.

“I am…” Just as I was going to fight to let out my last few words, Alpha Dane stormed towards where we were, grabbed Beta Ivar by his collar and lifted him from where I was.

“Who are you to tell your Alpha what to do?” Before I could make a move, he had already punched Ivar in the face, making him tumble to the ground in both fear and pain.

“I'm sorry, Alpha, but you were about to hurt or kill your Luna!” Ivar made it known, thinking that Dane would come back to his senses. Instead, he made things worse.

He turned to me and with a scowl on his face, he spoke to me, “It would have been better if she died than still living!”

His words got to me. They made me so angry that at this point, I didn't hesitate to storm to my feet. Without thinking twice, I lifted my hand and slapped him in the face, my anger palpable.

“What do you think you are doing?” Dane growled as his eyes widened in shock.

“You deserve every bit of it!” I was going to apologise, but seeing what he had done to me, there was no way I was going to apologise to him.

He was being a jerk, and the best way to treat a jerk was to make him see that you weren't weak.

“Every bit of it? I deserve every bit of it?” He began to walk towards me again.

I tried my best to avoid his presence, but unfortunately, I came to a stop right before the wall in the room.

“Stay away from me, Dane!” I demanded, my eyes glaring deeply into his.

“And what if I refuse? What if all I want is to get revenge for what you have done to me, Astrid? What if all I want right now is to make you pay dearly for letting out the Alpha secrets?”
