REJECTED; Mated To The Alpha I Hate

Chapter 30

Ch. 30 / 118 Apr 29, 2025

Dane's POV.

Storming out of the mansion, we headed right for the car where it was parked. I felt so furious knowing and seeing that I couldn't find Astrid in the Greenstone pack.

I had depended on finding her right in the arms of Alpha Halfdan and I wouldn't dare to let go or ignore her. I would grab her and pull her out of the pack without a second glance at anyone.

“Anyone with my mate must suffer! He must be punished! I will make them regret ever making this happen!” My fist clenched as my eyes glared at the front of the car.

At this moment, I sat at the front of the car, right beside Ivar who was going to drive.

Soon, he turned on the engine and before anyone could say Jack, he had already zoomed out of the premises of the Greenstone pack, which was what I wanted.

It was obvious that staying in the pack for a few more seconds would leave me with no other choice than to attack Alpha Halfdan again.

My fist clenched as Beta Ivar drove the car. We were heading right for my pack. The thought of Astrid still not being there left me with nothing but guilt, anger, and shame.

My mate had been missing for more than a night and I couldn't find her. It would be seen as me being incompetent and irresponsible.

“Stay calm, Alpha Dane. I'm pretty sure that we will find her soon! We will make sure she is found!” Beta Ivar repeated as he tried to make me feel calm for a split second, but that wasn't what I wanted.

I didn't want his words of hope, I wanted to see my mate and nothing else.

“She's far away from me, Beta Ivar... I don't even know what she looks like... I fucking miss her!” I mumbled my last words as my head lowered.

I was as weak as fuck and it felt like I couldn't breathe anymore without Astrid being by my side.

“If only I was with her that night... I... I...” I felt so emotional that I didn't realise I had begun to stutter.

I didn't like it when Beta Ivar saw me in such a mood but I guess he was going to have to get ready to keep seeing me this way.

“I'm sorry for what's happening to you, Alpha Dane, but that shouldn't make you lose your senses!” he suddenly uttered, making me snap my gaze towards him as he drove.

“And what is that supposed to mean?” I asked, my brows lifted as I stared at him. I needed his response and he was expected to give it to me fast.

“I'm sorry, Alpha Dane. It's just that going to the Greenstone pack was a big move and it could have killed you if we didn't leave on time... Halfdan doesn't care about you or Astrid, so he wouldn't hesitate to do something cunning to you!” he explained briefly.

I was going to caution him or warn him for what he was saying, but then I understood what he was trying to say. He meant well for me and I shouldn't have dragged him into such a situation.

I should have gone alone; I should have attacked Halfdan alone even if it meant him killing me.

“I'm sorry, Beta Ivar!” My hand reached for his as I apologised to him, which made him turn to look at me in confusion.

“Alpha, are you…” Just as he was about to let out his words, I noticed a sudden turn of events.

An overspeeding car suddenly swerved into our path, and if time wasn't taken, we would crash into the car and either we die or both parties die.

Immediately, a sense of urgency coursed through my veins and I couldn't help but reach for the steering wheel, trying to avoid hitting the car before us while Ivar spoke to me.

“Watch out, Ivar!” I exclaimed, my eyes widening as I turned the wheel.

Ivar, seeing the danger before us, immediately stepped on the brake pedal, and with a screeching sound, the car came to a stop.

No one was hurt, no one was injured. My breaths came out in short gasps. All this while, I didn't care if I was going to die, but today? Today was different. I found a new zeal to want to live, to want to survive for Astrid and my pack.

“What just happened?” Beta Ivar questioned, his eyes widening with shock as he turned to look out of his windshield to see the car before us.

Just then, he turned to me and, seeing me panting, he didn't hesitate to reach for me. “Are you okay, Alpha Dane? I am sorry I lost control… I am…” he begged, but then, it wasn't his fault.

Anyone in that car had planned to kill me and Ivar, and there was no two ways about it.

Without responding to Beta Ivar, I climbed out of the car. Just as I was going to walk closer to the car and find out who was in it, the doors opened and immediately, Edmond climbed out of the car with a smirk on his face.

“Hello, Alpha Dane…”

‘Is he insane? Was he drunk or something? I knew he was all about killing me and Ivar!’ My fist clenched as I glared right at him.

I had halted in the first place, but at this point, I wasn't going to stand back. With a scowl on my face, I walked closer to where he stood.

“I'm sorry if…” he was going to feign innocence, but I knew him, I understood his cunning plots.

“Shut up, Edmond!” I commanded without caring if he was older than I was or if he was an elder.

“You planned to kill us, didn't you?” I scoffed, staring into his eyes.

Just then, I leaned closer to his face.

“You want to take over the Redmoon pack and I can see it all in your eyes, Edmond… you want nothing but more power and that's why you attacked the vehicle carrying the Alpha of the pack!” I whispered defiantly through my gritted teeth while I stared into his eyes.
