Sylvester was surprised that Vanessa could pull that. Her action was already making things easy for him. He couldn't believe that she could be so smart and talented.
"She's a friend. A very good friend. Her name is Anabel." Sylvester replied.
"Oh! Anabel. So she's the one. The lady you are always talking about." Vanessa added as if she was surprised.
"Yeah." Sylvester replied and turned to Anabel. "Anabel, this is Vanessa, my cousin sister. She came to visit me."
Anabel smiled and extended her hand for a handshake, "Nice to meet you, Vanessa."
"Nice to meet you too, Anabel." She shook her hand and gave her a light hug. "I'm so happy to see you. I've been looking forward to see you. And..... You are not looking bad as he always talk. I will like to borrow your dress some day."
Anabel smiled, "You don't have any problem. Just tell me when you need it."
"Anyway, My visit may be a bit surprising and unexpected. I didn't mean to intrude. I just wanted to surprise Sylvester. I hope I'm not interrupting anything though."
"Interrupt? Not at all. You are welcome anytime. I'm happy that a girl is visiting him for the first time ever since I came. And so filled that it was a beautiful lady like you." Vanessa said with a smile. She wanted to make Anabel relax and think that Sylvester doesn't have any other girl apart from her.
Who will tell Anabel that she is the girlfriend. Not just the girlfriend, but his fiancee. Sylvester was busy, watching Vanessa as she talk. He could see a potential awards winning actress.
"I don't know what you are thinking though but I just came to know his house. I don't think there is anything special about it." Anabel said.
"That's what you think. My cousin is not a girl type. So for you to come to his house, that means you are special to him."
"Yes, She's truly special." Sylvester replied. At this point, his voice was sounding more confident. Vanessa had made everything easy and smooth. Anabel could not suspect anything. "Anabel, why don't you sit down? Can I get you something to drink?"
"Water will be great." Anabel replied and took a seat on the couch. She watched as Sylvester disappeared into the kitchen, leaving her alone with Vanessa.
"My cousin had been saying a lot of things about you. So are you dating him?" Vanessa asked.
"I thought you have asked him and he answered you." Anabel replied.
"Yes, he had. But I don't believe him. He can lie to me. So I want to confirm from you." Vanessa asked as if she doesn't know anything about her.
"We are not dating. We are just good friends."
"Since you guys are not dating, with the way he talks about you, you must be her female best friend."
"Maybe, Sylvester is a nice guy."
"Yeah, since I came. You are the only girl he had been telling me about. He have never mentioned any other girl. My cousin is deeply in love with you." Vanessa said with a fake smile.
"Yeah, he had asked me though. I need time to think about it."
"Alright. I wish everything will walk out soon. I can't wait to see you guys together."
"So, how long have you been here?" Anabel asked, changing the conversation.
Vanessa glanced towards the kitchen before answering. "Just a few days. It's not up to a week. I have some interviews to attend to here."
"That sounds exciting. What do you do?" Anabel asked, genuinely curious.
"I just finished school." Vanessa replied,. "So i'm looking for a good job. I have an interview in a tech company." Vanessa was not even thinking about her answers. She was flowing as if she memorized everything.
"That sounds fascinating," Anabel said. "Going into tech is good. You know, technology is taking over now. I wish you good luck."
"Yeah," Vanessa replied and just then, Sylvester returned with the glass of water, a sliced apple and a bunch of banana.
