Desmond's expression softened, and he nodded. "I see. But just remember that the wedding is for family and a few close friends."
"Of course, baby. I have that in mind."
Desmond smiled and wrapped his arms around her. "I'm so happy we are finally getting married. It's a new beginning for us." He said, and Daniella returned his embrace, but her thoughts were elsewhere. She was already planning the next steps in her scheme.
As Desmond held her close, Daniella's mind raced with thoughts of her future with Leonard. She couldn't help but mock Desmond in her thoughts. "He has no idea what's coming," she mused. "So trusting and naive. This is almost too easy."
Once Desmond left the room, Daniella called Leonard back to continue their conversation. The marriage certificate in her hands felt like a ticket to a new, better life.
"I can’t wait for us to be together," Daniella said. "Soon, we will have everything we ever wanted."
"We are almost there, honey. Just a little longer, and we’ll be free to live the life we deserve." Leonard replied, and Daniella's heart swelled with excitement. "I love you, sweetheart. Thank you for believing in me."
"I love you too, honey. We are in this together," Leonard replied.
"See you later." Daniella said and hung up. She can't wait for tomorrow.

Desmond was in the sitting when his phone rang. Seeing that it was his mother calling, he answered with a sigh. He knew she was going to voice her disapproval of his marriage to Daniella again.
"Hello, Mom." Desmond greeted, trying to keep his tone neutral.
"I'm calling to know if you are still going on to the wedding or have you changed your mind?" His mother asked.
"I don't have any reason to change my mind. We are getting married tomorrow." Desmond replied, and his mother sighed.
"Desmond, you need to listen to me. I'm still your mother, and I will never lead you to the wrong part." His mother began. "You need to cancel this wedding. She's not the right person for you. She won't make a good wife. You are about to make the worst mistake of your life. Don't do what you will later regret."
"Mom, I've made up my mind. I'm not canceling the wedding. We have gotten the marriage certificate, and I've arranged everything."
"Desmond, think about everything she's done. Remember how Daniella made you chase me and Bella out of your house. She will do worse if you get married to her." His mother pressed with some trace of frustration in her voice, and Desmond sighed, rubbing his forehead.
"I remember, Mom. But I believe this wedding will bring peace. Everything will be alright once we are married. Daniella is not as bad as you are thinking. I don't want to lose her like I lost Anabel."
"If you go through with this wedding, I won't be attending." She threatened.
"Your presence won't change anything. It won't stop that wedding. The wedding will hold whether you attend or not. I love Daniella, and I want to marry her."
"I don't approve of this marriage, Desmond, so it won't hold," his mother declared angrily.
"If you won't come, I'll pay and arrange for someone else to act as my mother. Nothing will stop this wedding."
"I can see that she has bewitched you. You are under her spell." Her mom cried out.
"Stop talking nonsense. No one bewitched me. I'm doing everything with my right sense. I know what I'm doing." Desmond replied, and his mother got angry and hung up the phone without another word. Desmond stared at the screen for some moments and dropped it. He loved his mother, but he had made up his mind to marry Daniella, convinced that it was the right decision despite the growing tensions.
He was ready to move forward with the wedding, no matter the obstacles. Desmond took a deep breath, pushing aside the lingering doubts. As far as he was concerned, nothing and no one would stop him from marrying her.
