Leander’s P O VI leave the room dreading the fact that I did not get to sleep a wink. I had her in my arms but something had to happen as always. I head towards my office expecting to find Asher and Asmund already there. I had mind linked them to come there while I got dressed.
“Oh dear brother, missed us already? We have seen each other less than an hour ago.”Asher jokes as I enter my office. “Quit messing around, Asher. This is serious.” I reprimand him.
“What is it?” He asks his expression turning serious.
“I talked with Morena earlier and I have some updates.” I say.
“What does, Morena have to do with it?” Asmund asks. I feel a bit bothered that he called her by her name but I dismiss it. It’s not like I would not get angry if he called her luna or something else.
“She was having a nightmare and I asked her about it when she woke up.” I reply.
“Ooh, look at you Leander! making small talk with your mate that is not really your mate.” Asher jokes again and I immediately glare at him. He raises his hand in surrender before pretending to zip his mouth. I shake my head at his behavior before continuing:
“Her nightmare was about the attack that took place in her pack when she was a child.” “The one where she lost her parents.” Asmund states and I nod.
“When I asked her about it she told me that there were hundreds of rogues that attacked. There has never been a large group of rogues together that has been discovered. Rogues do not run in packs. But that was not what caught my attention. She said that alpha Luke told her that the rogues were not detected at the borders or when they crossed them. They were only noticed when they came across a patrol halfway through the pack’s forest. There was no way to find them all.” I continue.
“Are you saying the same rogues that attacked Morena’s old pack are related to the accident that happened earlier?” Asmund asks.
“They do not have to be the same necessarily. But there are some similarities. They were rogues for starters and they were in large numbers which means they were organized. The ones that were left on our borders were also rogues and as we concluded earlier they were not left theyre arbitrarily. This was planned before hand.” Asher explains and I can see the wheels turning in his heard.
“They were also not detected. Which means they are the same group as the one that attacked Morena’s old pack or they are using the same means to camouflage their presence. I do not have a good feeling about this. You should probably reach out to alpha Luke and set up a meeting with him.” Asher continues.
“I plan to do that first thing in the morning. This might be bigger than we expected. If the two incidents are indeed related then we need to prepare for the worst.” I say before moitioning for them to go. I should probably rest up a bit. It was still few hours until I can call alpha Luke. And I told Morena I would be getting her in the morning. We seemed to be on some common ground today and I wanted to keep that up instead of leaving her locked in the room again after I told her I am getting her out.
I catch a wink for an hour or so on the couch in my office before getting up to call alpha Luke. His secretary connects me to him immediately. “Alpha Leander! To what do I owe this pleasure?” He asks and I can tell he was worried even though he was doing a great job to mask his tone. “I have something to talk to you about.” I reply.
“Are the girls okay?” He asks and his voice was full blow concerned now.
“The girls are fine. I was just wondering if we could arrange a meeting in the next few days. Do you mind visiting my pack for it? The matter is kind of urgent.” I insist.
“Can’t we discuss it over the phone?” He asks. Probably cautious. i was not known for welcoming strangers into my pack.
“No, unfortunately not. The matter is kind of delicate and I can’t risk our phone call being monitored. If you do not mind con*ming over here then I would be thankful.” I answer.
“If it is as urgent as you make it sound then I will see what I can do. I will send you an email as soon as possible with the details of my visit.” He replies. “I appreciate your corporation, Alpha Luke.” I formally say.
“Thank you, Alpha Leander. If it is not a hassle, do you mind saying hi to the girls for me?” He says. “Of course. I will tell them as soon as I see them. Talk to you later then.” I say before hanging up.
I busy myself with paperwork for almost an hour before receiving an email confirming Alpha Luke’s visit in two days. I had to meet with Asher and Asmund to inform them of the updates and them with my head warrior to arrange the measures for alpha Luke’s visit. I trust Asher would take care of the preparation of his and his companies’ stay. I had to get to those things immediately so I could go to get Morena. She would probably sleep in. I ordered them not to get her breakfast. She was going to spend the rest of her day with me. It was high time I showed her some of the rupees around here. If she was really a spy she was
bound to make a mistake with the bit of freedom I was willing to offer her right now. Besides that minx was a walking piece of seduction and I fully intended to dip into that as much as I could.
