Chapter 41 Morena’s P O V
I sit on the couch a few hours later contemplating what I had done. I have crossed a line and probably blown any progress with Leander off. Not that I was the only one to blame for that.
He started it. He was the one who has not shown me even an ounce of respect ever since we met. But now, I most likely ruined my chance to meet with alpha Luke. He had arrived hours ago. Even before Leander’s impromptu visit. I can’t help but think that maybe he was coming to fetch me. To keep his end of the deal allowing me to meet him. Instead I had to go all emotional on him practically ruining any chance I had with him. God knows what he will do in consequence. He might not allow me to leave this room again. Not to meet alpha Luke. Not to do anything. I will go back to being locked up here like a zoo animal. Oh my God! He might take the books away. I would go insane! They are the only thing keeping me distracted from going mad with boredom. I will be climbing the walls if he takes them away. I can not tolerate another day of just scrolling up and down my phone or sitting on my ass watching some dumb rom com on tv.
I decide it was probably for the better to take a warm shower to calm my raging nerves. I put a t shirt I usually sleep in and undergarments on the bed before heading in to the bathroom. I come out half an hour later feeling all freshed up and relaxed and I tense up when I smell him in the room. He is here. Or was. I peek from the door and he is no where to be seen. But he was definitely here. His intoxication smell is all over the room. I hurry to get dressed in case he comes back and find that the clothes I had left out on the bed have been switched out. The t shirt was taken away and a pair of jeans and a black oversized t shirt. I must have been Leander who replaced them. But why? Do I get to leave the room tonight? After what I pulled earlier? I shake off the random thoughts that kept bombarding my poor brain and hurriedly put the clothes on. I wear my sneakers and let my hair down. I brush out all the tangles and leave it out to air dry. I pick up the book and continue reading from where I left off.
Around twenty five minutes later, the door opens up and Leander comes in. He had a shirt and a pair of jeans. He had taken the suit he had on earlier. Which he looked heavenly in if I might add. It is not the time to think about that. He was hovering over the door just staring at me.
“Come on. We are leaving.” He finally says. “where are we going?” I ask.
“If you want to know then hurry along . I have neither the time nor the effort to explain to you.” He replies leaving the door open. I get up and follow after him hurriedly.
“This is not the way to your office or to the library. Are we going somewhere new?” I excitedly ask. It was already evening and I had absolutely no clue where we were heading. If he had any intention of punishing me he would have dragged me out. Not wait for me to get a proper shower and get dressed. He would have dragged me out naked the moment he made the decision that I deserved a punishment.
We head to the opposite side of the pack house. It was a completely different quarters. Maybe he was going to banish me to another room. One far far away from his. So that he will not have to see me ever again. But he does not seem that pissed. He is eerily calm. Even Osk was anxious as she paced back and forth in the pack of my mind.
“You had to go and piss our mate off.” She frowns.
“I did not such thing! Do you expect me to just lay down as he stomps his giant alpha feet all over me? No way José.” I reply back knowing that if Leander looked back at me, he will find me making some weird expressions as I conversed with my wolf in the back of my mind. I was never able to keep a poker face like others when I conversed with my wolf. My face always conveyed what my emotions were exactly.
“He is not bad, Morena. His wolf is perfect and he loves us.” she states.
“You told me that a thousand times already, Osk. But the wolf is not control! The human is! And the human does nto believe that we are their mate. So, forgive me if I want to spare us some pain.“ I reprimand blocking her off.
I turn my attention to Leander. He was looking at me. Probably thinking I was crazy. “What?” I ask.
“Where are here.” He states looking away from me.
“We are where?” I ask confused.
“I promised you something two nights ago. And I always keep my word, Morena.” He explains.
“Are you letting me meet alpha Luke?” I squeal out. And he nods. “Oh my God! I thought you wouldn’t!” I add.
“Why wouldn’t I?” He asks confused.
“I kind of got too emotional earlier and I thought you might forbid me from seeing him as a punishment.” I explain.
“Oh you will be getting your proper punishment in the proper time, Morena. Right now, I am keeping my word to you because I got my reward for it. That is all.” He replies and I do not miss the hidden innuendo in his voice. I wprobably dug my own grave with that outburst earlier.
