Jimmy has to plead with her and promises to keep her updated on Adrian's state before Aurora agrees to return home. There were cameras all over the place and the two men working with Ray were also apprehended and taken away.
A hot headline was all over the place by morning. Adrian Lester, the owner of Penguin breweries, was on the verge of death as he went to rescue ex-wife.
Aurora was in shock the entire night and she wouldn't sleep. She kept calling and Patrick informed her that Adrian needed an urgent blood transfusion and he was having the same blood type with him.
It wasn't long, Adrian was being transfused with Patrick's blood. It was during that time that the bad news came, Anna Lester had another cardiac arrest and this time, she didn't survive it.
Clem got the news first and Patrick next. Adrian was in a bad state and couldn't travel. They didn't inform him about his mother's death yet until he gets a bit relieved. He wasn't told who's blood he was transfused with but he said he needed to be discharged.
His head was bound round with a gauze. His arm was also bound and because of his insistence, he was going to be discharged but must agree to come back for the treatment of his wounds and must have a nurse assigned with him.
He got off the bed with great difficulty just as Aurora arrived. Seeing Adrian Lester standing on his feet, his natural looks and boyish appearance added more charm to his cuteness, she admired him.
“Adrian” Aurora said and went to him, trying to hug him, he raised his hand, making her pause. She felt disappointed. He was in the hospital for the second time with a near death experience, both caused by her.
“Thank you for saving me” she said and he nodded and his eyes darted to Patrick casually before saying “Get the flight ready, we're heading to New Jersey” instructing Clem.
“Sir, there's something you need to know” Clem said, his face twisted in a deep grimace. He dares not let Adrian get home before knowing what happened.
Adrian was silent but his gaze on Clem. Everyone knew that his mother was dead except him. He expected him to go ahead but Clem remained quiet.
“If you won't speak up, you get the fuck out of my face” he thundered. What the heck! What was more important to him at the moment than returning home to his imprisoned mother.
“Please, you need to be calm, Adrian. Your wounds are still fresh” Patrick pleaded. Somehow, he hasn't been feeling good from the moment he heard about Anna Lester’s death.
Adrian's home fell apart after his mom returned. He became a product of a broken marriage and the scandal, nothing seems to be alright between him and his parents anymore and it all started when his mother returned.
“Don't think because I turned a blind eye to the fact that you're standing before me with your girlfriend, I feel comfortable with it. I don't want to hear your voice anywhere around me Patrick Lester” he bellowed.
He must be happy now, that he risked his life to save his girlfriend. He doesn't know why but what he felt for Aurora in the past pushed him to that point. But if he knows how much he resents them both for backstabbing him, they would stay fifty kilometers away from him.
“Adrian, I know you are mad at Patrick and I because of a false…” Aurora was saying when Adrian instructed at the top of his voice “Inform Jess that she's coming with me immediately” and was going to stride out when Clem said “Ms Anna is dead.
Adrian paused, his complexion went pale as he demanded “What did you say?” How can Mom be dead?
“Your mom had another cardiac arrest and she didn't survive it” Clem explained. From that moment until he boarded the plane with Jess and her mother, Adrian didn't say a word to anyone.
Aurora got Blake's helicopter and every one of them took off, going to New Jersey. As Adrian alighted from the plane, he was surprised that the Blakes had followed except the pregnant Charlotte.
When Adrian got down,he was taken to the morgue where Anna was laid. She was laid peacefully on a couch but looked really skinny.
His Mom had suffered from cancer, at the time, he couldn't stay by her side because he was pursuing Aurora and got shot with a gun. And now, she died with no one by her side because his family had been splitted apart.
They got splitted, everyone in his own world. His Mom in prison, he went away to start his life afresh and his dad, probably in a secret love affair with his ex and mother of his son.
Everything that has happened in his family, Luna Wesley was responsible for it. Whatever happened between him and his father, Patrick was to be blamed. But at least, it's over now.
His mother is dead and she is out of the way. She'd gone far away and become who can only dwell in the past now. His dad would be happy and Luna could probably throw a party to celebrate her death.
Luna Wesley wanted to come around but Richard said no. Seeing her, Adrian's fury might get triggered and he would be mad at her and Patrick.
Adrian wanted to shed tears, but he couldn't find himself able to do it. He requested for the authorities to allow him to give his mom a proper burial by requesting for her remains to be given to him.
“Your father already did that and the request had been granted” he was told. Adrian nodded and instructed that the funeral take place immediately.
There's no need for a mourning hall. There isn't a single soul who loves her now that he knows besides himself. No matter what she's done, she'll always be his mother.
Adrian returned home and got dressed in a black suit. His head was still bound up. He ordered for a flower as he went to bury his mother. As he stood by her grave side, Richard also stood, dressed in black, identical to Adrian's.
Turning himself and seeing his father, his temper flared up “What do you want here, dad? Haven't you achieved your aim, haven't you murdered her by your scheming actions?
You should be by the side of your mistress and your illegitimate son and not here. So get out of here before I do something I might later regret”
Some mourners were present, the entire Blake's family were present too
They were surprised that Adrian talked to his father this way.
Patrick was also present and Luna insisted on coming. She stood at the extreme end, her eyes puffy and red. She'd been crying since the moment she heard that Anna Lester was dead.
“Adrian, you have to stop this please” Grandfather requested. His grandson, after many months, got to see him again but this time, by his mother's graveside.
“Stop what exactly, grandfather? He was the reason why my mom died the way she did, away from people who cared about her. I don't want him here” Adrian insisted.
The burial procession was paused and everyone expected someone to calm Adrian down but none could do it. His grandfather's voice was weak and shaky, and Richard remained where he was but didn't respond.
He didn't want to say anything to him. He's afraid of saying something that would make Adrian go this time and never return again. So, it's best for him to be quiet.
Jess was close by, she went to him and gently tapped him. She saw how Adrian was using her to evade talking to that Miss from the aristocratic family. He probably was using her as a shield and she decided to play along.
At the same time, his grandfather pleaded “Please Adrian, whatever misunderstanding you're having with your father, we could talk about it later but now, would you give your mom some respect please?”
And it worked on Adrian like a medicine. No one can tell,if it was his grandfather's words or his girlfriend's gentle tucking. Whichever, the funeral soon continued.
Richard turned his head and sighted Aurora. He beckoned to her to get closer and brought Elsie closer. Aurora did, she'd been looking for ways to get somewhere close to Adrian in the first place.
Adrian saw how Richard took Elsie's hand and placed it in Anna's coffin. He didn't hear his words but he knew he was saying and acting as if he was introducing the little girl to his mom.
At this point, he wants to believe that Elsie is his daughter but what if she was Patrick's daughter as well. As he stood, Aurora stood side by side with him.
He tried to ignore her but a part of him was happy that she stood by him. Soon, Richard let Elsie stand between Adrian and Aurora.
Elsie quietly stretched her hand and took Adrian's hands, letting her little fingers intertwine with his, and Adrian turned and glanced at her. Her touch was magical, it ignites an emotion within him and he asked himself quietly:
“Is she really my daughter or Patrick's?”
