Santiago glanced at him, squinting his eyes and everyone was quiet for a while. He'd been missing for over three months. And there hasn't been a record of anyone coming to visit his mother until now. Why?
And now that the day when the masked boss would be unveiling his face draws closer, his mother is now being visited. What's the connection?
“Well, the thought just crossed my mind and I blurted it out. Anyways, forget I said it” Jimmy stuttered. He didn't even give it a second thought before blurting the words out.
Aurora shrugged but didn't say anything. Without any funds, can Adrian buy such a multi million dollar company and still invest so much on it?
He manages his family business and that's where the whole money goes. Where would he get such money from, besides, he can't take a loan easily without evidence of being able to pay the fund back.
He is likely not. Adrian is rich, but it all depends on his father and family.
Few days later, Santiago received an email that his request for partnership with the penguin business was rejected. It made him furious.
Who the hell does that, rejecting his proposals? As far as X-city is concerned, he rules the business world and his name is on the lips of every business owner.
And to know that the management team approves Aurora and Patrick's business. Who does that, accept a new business set up and reject the lord of that city?
Perhaps it was a mistake. The mail was not meant for him. He reached out to the public relations department and he was told that the selection was done by the masked boss himself.
This can only confirm that it's not Adrian Lester that hides behind that mask. It can never be him. He cannot reject his request and accept Aurora and Patrick's partnership.
Whoever that person is, he could go to hell with his nostril enterprise. He would fold his arms and see who that masked boss of the penguin business is.
On the night before the launching of the wine Broken bonds, Nelson asked if Jess and her mother would be willing to relocate with him to another city.
Margaret Gordon said she would prefer to live in the small city of X-city than starting afresh somewhere else. Jess could go with him, they both are still young unlike her.
Nelson then told them he would return soon and pick Jess to the city and Margaret Gordon for a holiday. They'll leave together and if she chooses to return, that won't be challenged.
He got the name Nelson from Margaret. When he almost died from an illness back then, they brought the medics and in the process of trying to help out, asked him what his name is.
He was unwilling to answer and pretended to be asleep. Margaret told the doctors that his name is Nelson. And the name remained so. The few people in that city only knew him by the name Nelson.
As Jess walked him back, she took his hands and tiptoed to kiss him but Nelson turned his head away. He frowned and asked “What the heck do you think you are doing?
“Kissing you” she said, circling her hands around him. He tried to pull away from her, but she tightened her grip on him. She likes him, from that day, when he came to their town, she'd liked him.
Her mom gave him a shelter for the night and the next day, he got the apartment and has lived there since then. He doesn't talk to anyone and she went to check on him one day and found him caught up in a terrible fever.
He was muttering words no one knows about and he seemed lost in depression. She went to her Mom and they called the medics. He still seemed a depressed man but he's better than he was when he just arrived in their town.
“No please,Jess. I know that you show signs of being interested in me, but please, don't. I don't want to hurt you. Let's keep in contact, and that's all” Nelson informed.
He glanced at her, she wasn't happy but he looked away. There's no place in his heart for any woman anymore. He's a stone hearted man now. There isn't a slight opportunity for him to fall in love again.
“Don't forget me, Nelson. No matter where you are, don't forget to come back for me” Jess pleaded.
His eyes hold secrets but she doesn't know what they are. He appeared poor and homeless but his words carried a hint of power and wealth. Who is he exactly?
She saw him that night, when the latest brand of Lexus picked him up. She's been trying to find out who he is, but he was too conscious, protecting that secretive part of him.
“I won't, I promise to bring you and your Mom for a vacation. But whatever you might be knowing about me later, don't take it to heart please” Nelson pleaded.
Two days later, The masked boss was already in X-city capital.All the partners were all present. The shareholders also were there. Why he chose to make everyone present, no one knows.
Patrick was present, alongside his partner Aurora Blake. The hallway was grandly designed. It was taking place in the presidential suite of the city capital.
The hallway was laced with a red carpet and the large projector screen was displaying the various ads of the company and especially the new product ‘broken bonds’
Everyone waited for the climax of the launching, the product and the masked boss. Then it was announced that the boss had arrived.
The projector focused on the parking lot as the latest brand of Bugatti sion arrived and several bodyguards came forward and held the door for him.
Everyone in the hallway fixed their gaze on the screen. They saw as the boss placed one of his feet out, and carefully stepped out, his shoes were the finest custom made leather designer shoes.
The camera went upward and focused on his expensive gold wristwatch as it glittered. Everyone held their breath, his face was not shown yet, but they could tell he's a young man and probably a cute guy at that.
Then he started walking through the red carpet, dressed in a black trench coat, surrounded by other men in suites. Directly behind him was a well known face, Clemson Wood, Adrian Lester’s assistant.
When the camera focused on him fully, he had a black shade on and his hair long and combed backwards, exposing a beautiful temple.
His beards are trimmed but not scraped. When his face was shown, among others, Aurora held her breath, subconsciously she gripped Patrick and held him tightly, almost digging her nails into his wrist.
There was thunderous applause but Patrick was lost, just staring at the screen. Adrian? While they were worried about him and searching for his whereabouts, he was building his life again, from scratch.
He didn't know what was said nor how he eventually arrived at the stage, he only knew that he didn't pass the red carpet, he used some other route and arrived at the stage.
There's a kind of cold aura that descended on everyone present when Adrian arrived at the stage. His face, without an expression on it, took the mic from the MC and said “You're welcome…”
His voice rang throughout the entire hallway bringing Aurora to stare at him again. He looks completely different from the Adrian she used to know.
His beards make him appear older than he really was and his hairstyle would easily make him pass for a sportsman.
