“Why did you hide your identity from us? Why did you not let me know that it was you who paid for Mom's surgery and other bills?
Why did you live in disguise? This isn't right Adrian. Why did you leave my mom and I in great shock when we discovered the identity of the one we've been relating with for months?” Jess demanded, her facial expression showing displeasure.
“Jess, don't blame me. I'm sorry if I didn't let you and Mrs Margaret know who I truly am. Your mom calls me Nelson, and the name automatically stuck on me in your town.
I had to do it. A lot of people are on the search for me. If I don't live a disguised life, I won't achieve my aim. I'm sorry” Adrian explained.
The duo were just through with their dinner and they sat down to talk. Jess was happy though. When Adrian apologised, he told her they were going to leave. He can't stay out too long.
“Come with me” Adrian declared, offering his hand. Jess took it, and stood up. He crossed his arms around her and turned to go away when he sighted the young madam of the Blake family, his ex wife, sitting on the floor directly opposite them.
As he stood up,she also stood up, took her handbag and walked away. He squinted, is she stucking him? He had booked the entire floor, but didn't expect she would book the next entire floor as well.
Next time, he would book the entire restaurant and see just how she would be able to come anywhere around him. At his orders, Miss Jess was taken to a hotel, where her mother was already waiting for her.
That night, Adrian called Clem to give him reports of how things went with his Mom. He hadn't had enough time to have a discussion with him when he suddenly sent an email to him saying that she should come to X-city immediately.
“Aunt Anna is getting sickly on a daily basis. She'd got a cardiac failure that almost left her dead. She survived but she hasn't recovered from the cancer…” Clem updated.
“How's grandfather?” Adrian asked. He knows his grandfather would be worried about him. Who wouldn't, not having heard about his grandson for a few months.
“Old man Lester is fine. But he longed to see you again. But sir, your father is hell sick about you…” Clem was saying when Adrian interrupted him, “get things ready, I'm going to New Jersey tomorrow”
As he laid down to sleep, it was close to midnight, when his phone chirped, it was Santiago. He ignored it. Not interested in having a conversation with any member of that family.
But a message dropped “Is Aurora with you? We can't find her for the past two hours”
Immediately the text read itself out to him, Adrian sprang up from the bed. Aurora left the same time he left the restaurant with Jess. What happened to her?
Against his will, he called Santiago anyway. “I don't hang out with another man's woman. I have a sense of decency” he stated immediately Santiago answered the phone.
“You don't think that way about your daughter's mother. Aurora has only been yours and not anyone else. But it's not about that now…” Santiago responded, knowing what Adrian was thinking.
“I have no daughter with anyone. And please, Santiago respect my decision and don't call my contact again” Adrian requested and was going to hang up when Santiago said “We think Aurora is missing”
Nancy Blake was the first who realised that Aurora is missing. She went to check on her in her room and discovered she wasn't there. She called her cell phone contact and it wasn't answered.
When she dialled it a second time, it was switched off. It's unlike her daughter. She informed Simon and the latter told the boys to find their sisters.
Adrian was quiet. Aurora is missing? How can it be? He was going to tell Santiago where he saw her last that evening when he heard a report from the background.
“I just found out that her bodyguards have been shot. One is dead and the other is in coma” Jimmy informed, hastily.
“What!”Adrian exclaimed quietly and hung up. Santiago just stared at Jimmy as he heard Adrian's one syllable word before hanging up.
Aurora's bodyguards shot?
Adrian's bodyguards immediately swung into action at their boss' orders. They're a set of military trained bodyguards. They tracked her movement from the restaurant and realized she was abducted five minutes after she left the restaurant.
The car that abducted her was traced and found to be an unregistered plate number. Adrian gnashed his teeth. A well calculated abduction.
Fully armed with his pistol, he strapped a bullet proof on and stepped out. His bodyguards followed and Clem was going to work with Santiago and the Blake's family.
Adrian drove first to Blake's mansion and everyone was surprised that he showed up. Jimmy had stepped out with his men and Simon was making connections about his missing daughter.
“Santiago, I saw your sister last at the restaurant a few hours ago. She was abducted five minutes after she left the restaurant and the car that did that had an unregistered plate number…” he informed.
“Jimmy has a clue. He just informed us too and now, they're going to search her further in the outskirts of the city. She'd probably have been taken to that place…” Santiago informed.
Adrian saw the perplexed looks on Nancy Blake's face and he shrugged. He didn't say another word but returned to his car. He stayed quietly in his car and took a deep sigh.
“Take me to the spot where she was abducted” he instructed one of his bodyguards. As he arrived there, he stepped out and glanced around, a few military uniform men were there also.
He glanced around and Jimmy saw him. Adrian closed his eyes briefly and imagined the paths that would probably have been taken and he snapped his eyes open suddenly.
He glanced at the ground again and he saw faint footprints. “This way” he told his bodyguards. The men were dazed. Without another word, they got into the car.
“Adrian, don't make things worse for us” Jimmy Blake cautioned. Taking that path meant going backwards in the direction that she came.
“Do you want me back out of the search? I don't damn owe Aurora anything. She's my ex wife. I don't damn care about her or…”Adrian thundered.
“You motherfucker liar. If you don't bloody care about her, why are you here huh? You can choose to lie to yourself but don't think you can do it before my face, Adrian Lester!” Jimmy snapped at him.
Adrian glared at him. He's right. If he doesn't care about her, why is he so worried about her? Why can't he just sit still and let the worst happen to her?
“The sky is wide enough for every bird to fly. Go your way in search of her and I'll go my way. I am not interfering with you and don't try to stop me, you idiot” Adrian bellowed before getting into his car.
As soon as they drove backwards, they realised that the surveillance cameras of that entire place had gone faulty. They couldn't trace anything and that made Adrian believe his intuition was right.
Still in that state, Adrian's bodyguards informed “Miss Blake's contact can be reached”
“Clone the location” Adrian blurted.
