“Are you okay, Jimmy?” Nancy asked. What is the bone of contention he'd got with Adrian? Anyways, she's glad that Adrian gave him a good response.
“Jimmy, I won't go easy on you if you taunt my man again. What the heck is your problem with him? I want to get drilled by him,I want to get pregnant,carry his baby. Do you have a problem with that?” Aurora demanded.
He has Magda. Who cares what he does with her behind those closed doors. So would he tell Adrian not to get her pregnant?
“Adrian, Aurora, I wish you both safe landings. Be careful please” Santiago declared, pulling his sister into a hug and planting a featherlight kiss on her temple.
“Thanks Santiago”Aurora appreciated. Adrian did the same before stepping out. Jimmy already was positioning his men on strategic points when the helicopter took off.
Elsie went with her parents again. Adrian was determined to protect Aurora. Life has given him another chance to protect her, and he's going to carry that duty out perfectly.
When he arrived in New Jersey, he took them straight to his penthouse. He would prefer that they stay away for now. No one should know about them just yet.
But when he arrived there, he stepped in and realised that someone else was there, waiting for him.
Patrick Connor was determined to stay away from Aurora and Adrian for the time being until they have both gotten to the point they could vouch for each other.
They both are important to him. He has his parents and he wants to keep his friends too. But one thing remains: he needs a woman now.
A time comes in a man's life when he wants to settle down in marriage. When he comes back home to be welcomed with a hug. But falling in love was difficult for him.
Like Adrian, they've had some youthful days behind,where they took advantage of every opportunity that pops its head at them. But that was then. He's long left that behind.
His mum has been showing signs of loneliness lately. She'd never bothered him about his love life but he knows he needs to get her an ideal daughter in-law like Aurora.
But the likes of Aurora are rare. Where on earth was he going to find such a one? He would start looking out for a friend and open his heart to love again.
It was during such moments that his phone chirped. It was Aurora calling. He answered the phone happily and soon heard her words “I'm in New Jersey, can you come over to Adrian's penthouse?”
In New Jersey? That's fine. They talked the previous evening and she didn't say anything about coming over. Anyways that's ok. But then,he didn't know where Adrian's penthouse was located.
“Alright, send me the address” Patrick requested. He stood up, pushing other activities aside and prepared to leave.
In Adrian's penthouse, Jessica sat down,not showing signs of someone who was going to leave. She'd just arrived and stepped in, not quite a few minutes later, Adrian arrived.
“Jessica, I remembered telling you the code to my lock. But you can't just come without notifying me” Adrian frowned. The sight of her alone,sent Aurora angry.
She just walked past him and pulled Elsie along into the bedroom. He knows she's jealous but he would handle that when he's done with Jessica.
“My bad. I didn't see it necessary that I should reach out to you, nor did it cross my mind that you are reconciled with your ex-wife. But I'm sorry if my presence inconveniences you both” Jessica apologised.
She's the fool here. Why did she let her heart nurse feelings for Adrian until she couldn't take it anymore? She'd visited him this time to tell him what she feels for him.
It consumes her. She can't hide it, she can't sit still and hope that he falls in love with her and comes to express his feelings for her. She wants to tell him but she didn't expect that she would meet him, walking in with his ex-wife.
“It's fine” Adrian declared and excused himself to get into the room. He got in just in time as Aurora sent her address to Patrick. She was looking all sullen and displeased.
“My love..” Adrian began but Aurora stood up beckoning to him to come along. They stepped out and went to the balcony. The transparent wall separated them from Elsie as Aurora blurted “She has to leave this minute or I'll leave!”
“Why? What's her presence doing to you? We could stay here together and yet, don't get in each other's way” Adrian coaxed.
He has nothing to do with Jessica. He doesn't keep female friends but he found himself keeping her as a friend and like a younger sister.
“I was hoping to ask you about her. Were you dating her? Do you love her, have you been sleeping with her?” Aurora blurted.
“Common, I told you I hadn't had sex in a long time. I am not dating her and there's no love relationship between us. Just friends at most” Adrian answered.
“Oh, just friends. When do you start keeping female friends? You could keep friends of the opposite gender but I had to use my entire strength to explain that Patrick and I are mere friends as well.
I want to know how many times you have fucked her? Was she the reason why you didn't get bothered about Elsie and I,was she?” Aurora accused.
“You are annoying me, Aurora. Don't compare my relationship with Jessica to you and Patrick. Why do you always find a convenient chance to slot in his name in matters that didn't concern him?
What was I supposed to do, when you refused to come back to me. You shot me and I almost died from bullet injury. You denied me access to my own daughter and you stand here to point fingers at me?
What gave you the yardstick to accuse me of sleeping with her? After what you did to me, hit me, talked me down before my employees, character assassinated me, you still think you are qualified to judge me even if I sleep with another woman?” Adrian was angry.
Why is she making a mountain out of a molehill? Jessica is not causing any form of threat to them in any way,but Patrick did. What's the thing with her and his brother?
“That doesn't still justify the fact that she has access to your apartment even when you are not home. Remember that I wasn't allowed into your bedroom back then” Aurora snapped at him.
“I expected you to understand things better than what you're uttering. Well, this is how things turned out and I can't help it. I also haven't concluded that she would be staying here any longer” Adrian declared and turned to leave.
“If she doesn't leave, I'll take my daughter and go far away from here” Aurora threatened. At least she can leave and stay far away for a while before coming back.
Aurora's words made Adrian paused in his steps. He gnashed his teeth and turned himself abruptly to face her “don't you ever threaten me with my daughter again, never!” He thundered,his gaze filled with rage.
