Patrick has never felt belittled by a woman like Jessica just made him feel. He glared at her in fury and she glanced at him flippantly and hissed between gritted teeth.
She's right, there's nothing he can do about it. She knows everything about himself and Adrian and the puzzle created by Aurora's presence in the middle.
She now threatens him with it? How dare she, how can he not have regards before his employees and she says such words to him?
He'll ask Aurora, she'll definitely tell him the truth. If she's the one,he would scold and frown at what she's done. But if she's not, he'll invite Adrian for a discussion and discuss things with him.
He'll tell him everything. He would get angry, frown at him but he deserves to know what happened that night. He cannot let this woman become a pain in his ass or turn him into a pawn that she talks down at.
Without another word, Patrick nodded and stepped out of her office. He got to his secretary and asked “cancel my meeting for the rest of the day”
Lena, seeing the mask on the face of the boss, shivered. She nodded and got down to work.
Few minutes later, Patrick was on the phone with Aurora. He asked her if she would be sincere and tell her simply a yes, or a no. Did she discuss the misunderstanding between himself and Adrian to Jessica?
“Common Pat. I barely met her once at lunch with you. I haven't spoken to her about anything else besides her job. Is there a problem?” Aurora responded.
Everything that happened then was a misunderstanding. Why would she dwell on a misunderstanding and even share it with someone else?
“Yeah, I'll talk about it later” Patrick replied and hung up.

In X-city, nothing seems to be alright. Charlotte was alone at home. Santiago went to the company and Simon went to a private meeting with other ex-service men and Presidents.
Nancy stepped out for lunch but she couldn't stand it. Being alone at the dinning, she stood up and decided to go shopping, going over to call Charlotte.
“Mom, I just want to be indoors. I don't feel like it, stepping out of my room for the rest of today” Charlotte requested. She wants to remain indoors and think of how faster Santiago can get her pregnant again.
“You want to remain indoors and be nursing an injury that just passes as a scratch? Shake it off,come with me, you should be preparing for another baby for me. You're my eldest daughter in-law, remember?
But you're not my daughter in-law anymore, you're my daughter now. Would any mother be happy to see her daughter sad and demoralized?” Nancy coaxed.
Charlotte giggled. That's mother for you. She can revive one's sad spirit and in no time she'd started laughing already.
Just as they arrived at the door, Jimmy arrived. Surprised that his Mom and sister in-law are stepping out, he was unhappy. This is what Magda's sudden attitude had caused. She should have been with them too.
“Hello Mom” Jimmy greeted, going over and hugging his mom, not minding the cold shoulder she gave him.
Nancy just stared at her son. What has come over him, why is he acting like a zombie or is there something he's afraid of that he's not telling them?
“I didn't expect that my son would be expecting a baby and I have to hear it from someone else. I don't understand what man you're growing into or that you've become…” Nancy stuttered.
She didn't expect this happening to her son at all, she didn't see it coming. But change is the only thing that is constant. He'd changed and perhaps that's his own way of showing his maturity as a full grown man with a wife now.
“I'm sorry mom. I want to apologise for whatever discomfort Magda and I have caused you. Please look away from her attitude, it's a result of imbalances caused by pregnancy hormones…” Jimmy was saying when Nancy interrupted him.
“Don't give me that crap, Jimmy!” Nancy snapped at him. What the heck, what the hell is he saying? Hormonal imbalances?
“Give me another reason or say something else. We were all here when Aurora came, pregnant with Elsie, she had no problem with her hormones not being balanced.
Charlotte was pregnant for nine months with my grandson, she had no issues with hormonal imbalance. But Magda's, pregnant less than three months now, thinks in a reverse direction and it's blamed on her pregnancy and hormones?
She now reasons and acts like an idiot and you call it a result of hormonal imbalance? I am a mother and I have also been pregnant before. You should think of something else to say,son” Nancy rebuffed.
Charlotte looked away from the duo of mother and son. She's close enough to hear every single word and whispers but chooses to be quiet.
Hormonal imbalance right, isn't that what he described what is wrong with Magda's head? Maybe after she lost her baby, she doesn't remember what being pregnant meant.
Lame excuse for his suddenly married bride. He could say that to imbeciles and not to them. Because his words were too cheap to be reasoned with.
“Anyways, I'm sorry Mom. Sister in-law, please forgive Magda. She'll come around. I don't know what else to think right now if her change in attitude is not attributed to pregnancy…” Jimmy declared, his hands thrown to his sides, helplessly.
“It's fine. Let it go already. Everything will fall into place again and our family will return to be that happy people again” Charlotte let go.
Jimmy was pleased. He went over and hugged Charlotte just as Magda drove into the vast compound. She saw her husband hug Charlotte and kiss her temple briefly.
She pulled the brake suddenly and brought the car to a stop in the pathway with a loud screeching sound.
Nancy frowned but chose not to say a word. She took two steps already going towards her car with Charlotte holding a shopping bag behind her when Magda yelled at them both to stop.
Jimmy already frowned at her reckless driving and now,her voice filled with rage, ordered his mother and sister in-law to stop. Somehow, he saw fury glowing and he walked over quickly to stop her but she slapped him.
“You've been having romantic moments with Charlotte. I knew it but haven't been able to lay my fingers on it. But now, I do understand better.
Is it because of this woman that you couldn't satisfy me in bed? You can't go four,five times because you'll keep complaining of a hectic day at work.
It is because Charlotte's legs are open to absorb your strength. You have proven it beyond every reasonable doubt that you are frolicking around with this bitch, your brother's supposed wife…” Magda was ranting when Jimmy interrupted her.
“Are you crazy, Magda!!?” He bellowed. Will there not be a limit to her madness? This is indeed not related to pregnancy hormones at all.
Magda has lost her mind!
As if that was not enough, Magda took her phone and dialed a certain person's number “Brother in-law,my eyes have seen cheating and betrayals but today, it struck my heart.
My husband has been cheating right under my nostril and that wouldn't have hurt me this much if he did it outside, but guess who he'd been cheating on me with?”
