Entangled with the Billionaire

Chapter 16

Ch. 16 / 101 Jan 12, 2026

Opening the door, Colton came face to face with his younger brother, Caleb. He sighed.

"Got some time to spare? I want to talk to you" Caleb said, looking serious which was sort of a surprise. Caleb was usually not a very serious person.

"Five minutes," Colt mumbled, going back into the office and taking a seat on the couch.

"What the hell is going on, Colt?" He asked, refusing to sit. "Who the hell is Mia and when did you guys create a baby?" Caleb thought he knew everything about his elder brother but he was wrong.

"I don't want to talk about it," Colt said.

"You said the same thing yesterday. You need to grow up, Colt. Life doesn't revolve around you. This news affects us all as a family. We've all been restless since we heard the news. Dude, I thought we were close. How could you keep something this big away from me?"

Colton shook his head. He couldn't believe Caleb was telling him to grow up. "I appreciate your concern, Caleb but I'll also like for you to respect my decision and privacy on this. I'll let you all know more about the situation when I feel like talking about it."

Caleb sighed, then plopped down on the nearest couch to him which was opposite the one Colton was sitting on. "I still can't believe this is happening. Mom and Dad always tell me and Ashley to be like you but they were so disappointed yesterday, I guess they still are."

"I've always told you all to be your own selves. I'm human, I make mistakes, my life's not perfect."

"I still find this hard to believe, Colt. It's true Mom stylishly persuades us for grandchildren but you don't seem or look ready for fatherly duties. I swear to you that I don't know what it takes to be an uncle either."

'Do you really love this babe or you both are going to share custody with you giving her child support and all of that?'

"We will never hear the end of it if the media finds out about your baby mama. I can already imagine silly headlines making the front pages of all papers!"

"There's nothing to worry about. I have the media under control. I'm still in the process of making decisions but I'll let you all know what I decide. I'll probably invite you all to my house for a family gathering when I'm ready to reveal everything." He said. That was probably the day he was going to make them know that all of these were excuses just so he wouldn't get married to Natasha.

Colton's phone buzzed in his pocket. He reached for it and saw that it was a text message from his younger sister, Ashley. "Congratulations big brother. I'll support you no matter what🥰❤❤❤"

"A text from Ashley?" Caleb guessed.

Colton nodded slowly. "She's congratulating me."

"I'm not surprised. After a while, she seemed okay with everything. She said couldn't wait for you to reveal the baby's gender so she would start shopping for her niece or nephew."

Colton sighed at how serious Ashley was taking the whole situation.

A few Days Later (Friday)

Mia had important tasks to carry out outside the office during the early hours of the day. She got back to her workplace at almost 1 pm.

"Thank Goodness you're finally here," Sandra said in relief as Mia approached the reception area. "You have a visitor."

Mia frowned. "What visitor?" As far as she knew, she wasn't expecting anybody.

"Victoria Royals" Sandra replied immediately.

"Victoria Royals?" Mia whispered, confused as to why she was here to see her.

"Yes," Sandra smiled. "We are all very surprised to see her at our company too. She walked up to me and politely asked of you. I made her understand that you weren't around and that she can always leave a message but she said she was going to wait. She's been waiting for almost" Sandra took a glance at her wristwatch. "An hour now. I'm surprised that she has such patience to wait on you. She must be here for something really important. I even tried calling your number so you could rush back here but I couldn't reach you."

"Yeah, had low battery so I switched off my phone for awhile. But why is she here to see me?" Mia couldn't help but ask. She only knew Victoria Royal because literally almost everyone in the world knew Victoria Royal. Mia had only seen her a few times on TV and in magazines.

"I should be asking you that, babe. I won't be surprised if the boss gives you a raise. For the first time in his existence, he had the opportunity to talk to someone from the Royal family."

"Where's she?"

"She's in your office. You should go see her." Sandra smiled.

Mia nodded, then proceeded to her office which was just a couple of minutes' walk away from the reception.

Mia was one of the editors for Zen Magazine. It was a small company with very hard working staff.

Mia didn't know what to expect as she made her way to her office. She couldn't wrap her head as to why Victoria Royal was here to see her. Knowing she had no business with someone like Vicky who was from a very high social class, She was sure there was a mistake somewhere. Perhaps Victoria mistook her for another person.
