Tabitha's POV
Zola was primarily responsible for cooking for me and Derek in the pack and was completely unaware of the online uproar.
I was only aware that Rolf had been arrested under seemingly innocent circumstances and had no idea about the extent of the offline unrest.
When I was suddenly halted, I looked around in confusion, unsure of what was happening.
I noticed people with banners and others carrying buckets of what looked like colorful substances, likely paint or something similar.
As soon as they saw me, they charged toward me like a swarm of zombies.
The pack guards quickly intervened to block them.
Zola also urgently said, "Tabitha, hurry up."
"You heartless capitalist, go pay Lisa back."
A voice filled with intense anger shouted from behind me. As I turned, I saw someone hurling something in my direction.
My werewolf instincts kicked in immediately, sensing a dangerous presence.
"Tabitha, watch out!" Zola immediately shielded me.
Reacting quickly, I shoved Zola aside with one hand and used my handbag to deflect some of the splashing liquid with the other
Zola fell to the ground from the force of my push. Before she could cry out in pain, I let out a pained yelp myself.
Despite my best efforts to block it, a few drops of the liquid still splattered onto the back of my hand.
A severe burning sensation spread from the back of my hand.
"It is sulfuric acid!" I gasped.
"Oh my God. Tabitha, are you okay?"
Zola was terrified and at a loss.
The person who had thrown the sulfuric acid had not left yet, and suddenly another figure appeared, brandishing a knife and lunging toward me.
The pack guards were occupied with fending off other attackers who seemed intent on tying up the bodyguards.
As the sharp knife was about to pierce my heart, it came down like lightning.
It was clear that this was not just an ordinary person but a well-trained assassin.
My werewolf instinct was fully triggered at that moment, and the wolf inside me was restless.
Just as the thought crossed my mind, I saw the gleaming blade fall.
While onlookers covered their mouths in horror, my limbs reacted faster than my brain could process.
I kicked out, striking the man's wrist hard, and the dagger clattered onto the floor tiles with a harsh sound.
The man was stunned, probably not expecting such a swift reaction from me.
Wasn't screaming the first reaction for a woman in such a situation?
Taking advantage of his momentary shock, I delivered another kick to the man's shin, the sudden pain causing him to kneel on one leg.
Seizing the opportunity, I clamped my legs around his neck and flipped him over with a fierce jerk, landing him flat on his back.
In the blink of an eye, I had grabbed the dagger and pressed it against his throat.
The whole process, from being attacked to subduing him, took mere seconds.
The sequence of actions was seamless and decisive, like something out of a movie, leaving Zola dumbfounded.
My heart was filled with murderous intent as I asked in a cold voice, "Who sent you?"
The wolf within me was roaring as if urging me to identify the enemy.
I was taken aback by my own actions. Although I had no memory of this part, my survival instincts kicked in as if they were ingrained in my very being.
The blade pressing into the man's neck had already drawn blood, triggering a primal urge to kill.
"Tabitha, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. These people are suspicious. Call the police," I said calmly. "I'll go to the restroom. Zola, get some sodium bicarbonate ready."
Though my hand wasn't severely burned, it was crucial to treat it quickly to prevent further damage.
Zola looked confused. "What sodium?"
"Hurry," I urged, making my way to the restroom.
Third person's POV
Tabitha quickly made her way to the restroom.
Meanwhile, the man on the upper floor, holding two children, quietly withdrew his gun.
A brief flicker of relief crossed his deep-set eyes as he noted Tabitha's growth.
