Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 39

Ch. 39 / 127 Aug 27, 2025

LUCIEN’S POV

I dressed up as quickly as I could, ready to leave, thinking of Adria. She would be so excited to see me. I could already see her blushing and acting all clumsy just because she was happy.

The moon goddess was really a master at fating two people to be mates. I had never met a girl who could make my heart throb the way Adria did. She was different. There was a kind of innocence about her that I didn’t find in any other woman, not even Monica who was pretending to be naïve.

She probably thought I didn’t see through her tricks. Of course, she wasn’t the first to use them so it was very obvious. I was glad to be rid of her because it had been tiring being around her. She simply made it all so hard to enjoy my stay.

I checked around for my things. I hadn’t packed a lot, just a few shirts and pants. When I was sure I didn’t need any other thing, I left the room assigned to me. The Alpha was already waiting in the receiving room close to the room I was given.

“Thank you Lucien for the information and for also taking the pain to come out here and see me.” He said, extending a hand to me.

“It’s nothing to worry about.” I replied, taking his hand and shaking it.

“You’re not having breakfast?” He asked, gesturing to slices of toast on a tray with scrambled eggs and tea. They did not only look good, they smelled great and it was a really tempting offer, but I wanted to leave before I encountered a situation with someone I was not in the mood to meet.

“I’m afraid I am too much in a hurry to sit and have breakfast. I have spent a lot of time here and have eaten your delicious meals. I think I am satisfied enough.” I smiled, staring at the food with a pleasant smile and he laughed.

“Well said. If you must be on your way, then let us get to it. Allow me to alert Monica and Angelou. They would love to bid you farewell.” He said, and that was exactly the thing I didn’t want to hear.

“No, no. I would not wish to disturb them, and besides I am in a hurry. Extend my greetings to them instead and tell them I enjoyed their hospitality.” I objected immediately, tapping him on the shoulder a little.

“Alright. That is fine.” He replied, making his way towards the door. I followed quickly, walking through the halls of the grand Palace.

However, when we were out of the Palace and I had just thrown my bags into the backseat of my car, I heard the sound of heels tapping quickly on the floor, and turned.

“Please wait!” I heard Monica squeal and turned.

There she was in a black leather mini skirt and a white shirt tied at her belly. She wore knee high heeled boots and dragged behind her, two luggage bags and had one traveling bag on her shoulder.

She panted hard as she got to me, trying to catch her breath with a hand on her chest.

Then her mother also came running.

“Monica! Here…” Angelou said, going to Angela and giving her a face cleanser. “I got this in Paris, how could you forget it?” She asked, breathlessly.

“Oh my! I thought I packed it.” She said, patting the bag on her shoulder frantically. “It’s not where I thought I put it.” She said wide-eyed and immediately snatched the cleanser from Angelou’s hands. “Thank you. You’re my saving grace.” She said, bending to hug her mother.

“Sorry. What’s happening here?” I asked in puzzlement. Why was she bringing bags and standing in front of my car, and conversing with her mother like she was leaving?

Monica turned to me, flipping her hair aside, and gave a bright smile.

“I know you’re so busy and have a lot to do, but I have to get to New Orleans. You came just at the perfect time. I’m going there for my education so you coming was a real privilege for me, and I’d like it if you dropped me off. I heard you live somewhere in Louisiana. Surely New Orleans can’t be far away. You don’t need to take me to my destination.” She explained, tucking her hair behind her hair as she spoke.

New Orleans? How could she plan to school where I lived out of all the places in Louisiana?

“Please help my daughter get to New Orleans safely. You see, I’m still a little skeptical about letting her go but since you live somewhere around there, I don’t mind.” Angelou stated, placing a gentle hand on my arm.

“You should have informed him the day before. How could you spring up on him with an idea just like that? What if he has somewhere really important to get to?” Alpha Grayson asked, and Monica pouted in dissatisfaction. She was probably unused to getting scolded.

“Oh honey. She’s still young. These youngsters don’t think of anything but moving and moving.” Angelou said to Alpha Grayson then turned to me. “You will help, will you?” She asked, and I nodded with a smile, and that is how I ended up taking Monica with me to New Orleans.

We didn’t talk much on our journey, she was mostly on her phone and also sneaking glances at me when she got the chance. When she tried to ignite conversation, I turned on the music in the car loudly and she was shut immediately.

Ehen we got back to New Orleans, it was late in the afternoon.

“Thank you! I’ll take a taxi from here so you can get to your business.” She thanked me, after taking her things out from my car.

My only request was not to run into her throughout her stay in her college.

I simply gave a little nod and zoomed off as fast as I could.

But hours later, I realized my request was invalid because when I stepped out of my house to visit Adria, I saw Monica talking with an estate agent in an attempt to buy the house opposite mine.

What???
