Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 31

Ch. 31 / 127 Aug 27, 2025

MONICA’S POV.

“What?” I asked, sitting up from my bed immediately. What was she saying? It was total nonsense. “What kind of a joke is that!?’ I asked angrily as my heart started to thump faster in my chest. Just the mention of the name and my body was reacting more than it ought to.

“No. I dare not joke with you, miss.” My maid immediately said, waving her hands to show how desperate she want to let me know that I was wrong.

But that was impossible. How could Lucien be in my Palace? Did she really know what she was saying?

“Even if it is a mistake, I will punish you. If you mistook the wrong person for Lucien, I will punish you.” I promised her and swung my feet off the bed.

“I know what he looks like, Miss. I mean it.” My maid insisted and I ran to my wardrobe and started flinging out clothes to the floor, searching for the perfect one.

My hands trembled as I browsed through clothes and as my breath came out faster, I gave a shaky smile. She didn’t mean it. No she didn’t.

Anyone would wonder why I was acting that way all because I heard Lucien was at my Palace. Well, that was because it was something that happened only in my dreams, and I never expected it to happen in reality.

Ever since I was younger, I had always heard of Lucien and all the things he had done. He was handsome, powerful and formidable. He was the only man that had snagged my attention seriously. All the other men I had known in my life were nothing but mere passing flings. Lucien was a man who had come to stay. My heart beat for him from afar. His every photo, every accomplishment, every newspaper concerning him was in my room.

I had been told he hadn’t found a Luna and it had kept me going. It was the fire that had pushed me further. If my hero and lover was currently feet away from me, why wouldn’t my hands tremble.

If the most perfect man on earth had come to my Palace, I had to make him stay. I had to make my father suggest me as Luna. The thought of being his Luna made a thrill run down my spine. I smiled crazily to myself as I selected an elegant white dress with its sleeves off my shoulder. It slimmed down at my waist and flared at my hips, outlining my curves delicately and also had golden buttons on the left and right side of my tummy.

My maid selected white heels for me to wear and I pushed my feet into them gently. She combed my hair and they fell gently over my shoulders before she decorated it with an exquisite diamond hairpin that was placed right over my ear, sweeping my hair back.

I mixed the best of my perfumes and sprayed them over my body.

“You smell like flowers. He won’t be able to resist.” My maid said and I giggled.

“Are you sure he won’t be able to resist?” I asked her as I viewed myself in the mirror.

“Of course I am.”

“I need a little makeup.” I said, and she brought out my makeup kit and adorned my face with it, dabbing gently where needed.

“Men don’t like too much makeup so I’m making it simple so he can know you’re a natural beauty even without the makeup.” She said, as she turned my lips hot pink with the help of a lipstick. She ran some gloss over it and even I wanted to kiss myself. Finally, I was getting married.

“You’re right. I’m a natural beauty.” I finally replied as I stood elegantly from my seat. “Where is he?” I asked, and her mouth fell.

“I… I didn’t check that. I… I was so excited to tell you about it so I ran to you immediately.” She told me, and I took in a deep breath.

“I’m guessing he’s here to see Father. I’ll check there first.” I said, and left the room.

The guards all stared at me as I walked past. They knew I was beautiful but they had probably not known that my best look had always been reserved for the day I was to meet Lucien.

My heels clacked courteously on the marble floor as I walked all the way to my father’s room.

My father had a set of rooms to himself and I tried to imagine which Lucien would stay in. Eventually, I made for his visiting room and took in a deep breath.

I pushed the door open gently and stepped in.

To my disappointment, my mother sat on a sofa there. I frowned and turned away.

“Stop Monica. You know who’s around right?” She asked, and I turned to her.

“Of course.” I replied and couldn’t help the silly smile that lit up my face at the thought of Lucien. My dreams were coming true.

“Since you know, do your best. I don’t know what he’s here for but he might see you and decide he wants you as his Luna. That would be a very good alliance for us.” She said, pouring herself tea in a cup.

“Of course I understand, but it would also be a very good opportunity for me to have the greatest man ever. The man of my dreams.” I said, and she burst into laughter.

“So the rumors are true. You have really been smitten with a man for years. Who knew it was none other than Lucien?” She remarked, and I gave her a sheepish grin.

“Of course it was. Who else do you think is worthy of me?” I asked and she stood to her feet, approaching me slowly with her elegant heels matching the sound mine made earlier.

“Very good. No other man is worthy of you so make sure you get him. He’s the only one for you.” She said when she got to me, stroking my hair gently. “You look beautiful.” She complimented and I smiled. “He’s in the next room.” She added and I smiled.

“I will not let you down.” I promised and left the room.

At the next room, my heart started to thunder and I tried to ignore it, pulling my face into one of absolute control before pushing the door open, and there he was…

The man of my dreams and his beauty shot me to the heart like an arrow.
