MONICA’S POV
I got up from my chair and started to pace around my room with my finger on my chin. I had to think fast. What was the quickest way to Adria? I already knew she had three friends who always flocked around her and honestly it could make my mission a lot harder. If she was always with her friends, there was no way they’d like to let someone new in.
Or if I could seduce one of the guys, then it would be possible for them to let me in, but then I didn’t want to stoop so low as to seduce a human and also it would be bad if Adria mentioned anythng about me dating her friend to Lucien. That wouldn’t be too good so instead I had to think of something fast.
I resented her a lot for daring to love someone like Lucien but there was no other way than dallying with her. The thought of divulging Lucien’s secret to her also crossed my mind because I knew humans got scared the moment they found out about our true identities but I didn’t want to risk Lucien finding out and staring at me with much hatred than he already did.
In the end, I fell back to my sofa exhausted, staring at the ceiling with a puzzled and frustrated expression.
There had to be a way…

ADRIA’S POV.
I sat in class the next day listening attentively to the teacher. Although it was a little hard to pay attention because I and Lucien had shared another kiss right before class and my lips were burning. The images kept on flashing in my head and disrupting my perfect concentration.
I also smiled a lot and made the Professor think he was funny. The fact that he thought I was laughing because of his lame jokes was actually hilarious too and each time he smiled at me, delivering another lame joke, I laughed silently because of the thoughts in my head, then at last, he announced the end of class, and left.
The class scattered with students going around, talking to each other, walking out the door and making a lot of unnecessary noise. I looked at my textbooks wondering if there was anything else I had to do before closing the textbook and leaving class and just then, a gentle hand touched my shoulder.
I turned and saw it was Monica.
“Oh hey.” I said with a smile.
“Hey.” She returned, coming down to sit next to me and I turned back to my books, wondering why she was talking to me when she hadn’t said more than a ‘hi’ since we met.
I had felt she had been annoyed probably because Lucien had said something bad to her the last time she was at his place.
Her silky black hair swung over her shoulder, covering her face as she sat. She brushed it back over her shoulder and turned to me with a smile.
Damn, she was beautiful. What had she done in her past life to warrant such beauty. I wondered what her parents were going to look like.
“So… um…” she started, looking like she didn’t know where to begin.
“I thought you weren’t talking to me because of what happened the other day with Lu… Professor Lucien.” I said, since I saw she had nothing to say. We could as well start from there.
“Oh, that? Well, he was a little rude. I admit that but we made up later. We’re good neighbor now and that has long been buried. You see, I’m a shy person and after what happened that day, you know, I put so much effort into being active and lively but he didn’t seem to accept it so I was a little ashamed and couldn’t bring myself to talk to you.” She explained, tucking her hair neatly behind her ear.
“Aw. You didn’t need to feel that way. I enjoyed every bit of my time with you.” I told her honestly because I indeed enjoyed her presence the other day.
“Really? That’s nice to hear. No one has actually told me that before.” She said, shyly.
“Seriously?”
“Yeah. So, um… I… I’m quite the dumb type and couldn’t understand a thing the lecturer was yapping on and on about, I… I wonder if you could explain to me?” She asked, dropping her textbook on the table.
“Sure. I’d love to do that.” I replied, taking it from her and flipping it open.
“If you’re dating him, say it out.” A girl suddenly said as she sat in the seat in front of me. She wasn’t facing me but it felt like she was talking to me. “We might as well find out if you’re dating all the professors to maintain your straight As.” She continued and I confirmed she was talking to me.
The few students remaining in the class giggled and I sighed.
“Here, we see…” I started, pointing at a text in Monica’s textbook with my pen and the girl suddenly stood, slamming her bag on her table.
“Are you dating Professor Lucien or not? Tell us! Is that how you maintain all your As? Seducing the professors? How do you handle the females?” She asked shouting and Monica ripped off a page in her notebook and threw it at the girl.
“Stuff your mouth with it. It stinks.” She shot at her and I was shocked. “Why don’t you ask the teachers yourself? Why don’t you accuse the females of being Lesbians? Why don’t you go read harder? If you can’t beat em, you join em so go sulk somewhere before I pound you with my fists. Here’s the first thing you should know about me, you don’t mess with me.” Monica spat after getting to her feet and I was shocked. She was so fierce.
I had thought she had said she was shy.
“Who the hell are you?” The girl asked with her upper lip twitching in anger.
“I’m her friend.” Monica shot back and my head whipped upwards towards her.
Friend?
