Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 50

Ch. 50 / 127 Aug 27, 2025

ADRIA’S POV

She had also said she had seen girls going to and coming out of his house on several occasions. I seriously didn’t think it was Lucien but this post was just too speculative.

Could Lucien really call a girl to his house? In all my times in his house, I had never seen any girl in his house. Could Monica be exaggerating? Probably he only had a few girls come over for tutoring sessions. They could have asked the way I had asked and if he refused them, they’d be suspicious of our relationship, but then the girl who posted this probably had something against Lucien. If she was really implying it was Lucien, then she definitely had something against him.

She had posted anonymously. Why didn’t she post and let everyone know who she was? Of course it was so they wouldn’t ask her who the professor was. If they asked her and she said it was Professor Lucien, the news would go round and Professor Lucien could confront her, but if she was anonymous, she could easily ignore the comments.

There was no way I’d be fooled. Probably someone had overheard Monica saying she felt the first post was about Lucien and the person had tried to make Lucien into the professor being talked about in the first post.

Of course, that was it.

I wasn’t going to tell Lucien because I didn’t need to bother him with such fake news and if he found out about it later, he’d adore me for not asking about it, and trusting him instead.

I got up from the bench and made my way into the building where his office was. The news was everywhere and everyone seemed to be talking about it, guessing the professors one after the other and no one actually mentioned Lucien because the only female student he was seen walking around with was me.

My knock was soft on his door and he opened it almost immediately.

“I got your scent.” He said, smiling as he held the door open.

“That is amazing. You know I’m coming before I even knock. How do I ever spring up on you by surprise?” I asked, walking into his office.

“I’ll just pretend I didn’t know.” He replied, closing the door, and I laughed as I fell on his sofa.

“That’s no fun. It’s way better if you don’t know.” I insisted.

“I’m a good actor.”

“But I know you’re acting surprised so it’s not really a surprise anymore.” I shot at him and he smiled as he sat in front of me.

“You came to see me or came to tell me something?” He asked, leaning backwards and I sighed. “You’re not coming over today again?” He asked, and my eyes shot up.

“How…” I was asking, then he smiled.

“I happened to see you talking with Stacy and listened in.” He answered, and I was so shocked I couldn’t speak. “Why? Don’t you read werewolf books?” He asked, and I laughed silently.

“I do, but it’s just crazy how your hearing is really great.” I said, looking at a mug on his table.

“It’s okay. You should hang out with your friends. Don’t let them feel you abandoned them.” He told me, and I nodded. I was happy he was taking it lightly. “About Monica, your new friend. I don’t really like her.” He suddenly added, and I was shocked.

“Why? What don’t you like about her?” I asked, and he took in a deep breath.

“Don’t get too close to her. She’s not the type of friend you should mingle with.”

“I know she gives that vibe on the outside but when you get to know her, she’s really sweet on the inside…”

“Oh, and you know her? When did you meet her? When did you guys start talking? Have you know her for a month or more?” He attacked, and I furrowed my brows.

“I think I know her more than you do. Probably you just don’t like her because first impression lasts. She intruded on your privacy and took up your time so I understand it’s quite hard to see her in a better light.” I pointed out, and he sighed.

“Can you just not be friends with her?” He asked, plainly and I was a little surprised.

“I don’t just go around ghosting people for no reason. You have to give me a solid reason why I shouldn’t be friends with her. You can’t just handpick my friends. Is she a murderer or a blabbermouth or you feel she’s a bad influence? You should explain more if you really want me to stop being friends with her.” I told him, and he leaned his head backwards and sighed.

“I’ll leave now. I have another class soon. See you later.” I told him, and left his office. I wasn’t mad at him, I just didn’t want to continue that odd conversation with him.

~

Later that afternoon, I stepped out of the school building ready to call Stacy and tell her I was done with my classes when someone tapped me. I turned around and saw Monica smiling at me and didn’t know why I felt guilty. It was probably because no one around me approved of her directly.

“Do you want to hang out at some nice restaurant or somewhere else to read?” She asked, and I felt even more guilty.

“I would really love to but I have an appointment.” I told her honestly and she looked really disappointed.

“Maybe another time then.” She finally said after being silent for some seconds.

“Sure. Another time then.”

“I guess we can still walk out of school together then.” She said, gesturing towards the way out of the school.

“Sure.” I replied and we began to walk.

“So, I kept on reading these novels, and I found out there’s someone missing about wolves in all of them.” She suddenly said and I looked at her.

“What’s that?” I asked.

“They didn’t write that they drink blood once a week—the blood of young girls.” She said, staring at me straight in the eye.

“Those are vampires.”

“Vampires drink blood to satisfy their hunger, wolves drink to sustain their powers. If you ever meet a wolf, ask them.” She said and something about the way she said it felt ominous.
