Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 36

Ch. 36 / 127 Aug 27, 2025

MONICA’S POV.

My smile widened as I walked away from the guest rooms. I hadn’t lost. I was winning, because if it took the world to get a man like Lucien, I would give it. I would sincerely apologize to him the next day and act like I didn’t know a thing about seduction. There was no way he would still see me as cheap if that was what he was seeing me as at the moment. He would only think of me as naïve and innocent and that was good for me because men loved the naïve and innocent girls, and it wasn’t my first time playing the naïve and innocent girl just to get what I wanted.

The next morning, I woke up with a smile. Instead of the nightmare I had lied to Lucien that I had, I had had a sweet dream where we were holding our very own mating ceremony. The important people in the surrounding Alpha Kingdoms were invited and their daughters gazed at me with jealousy burning deep in their eyes as they watched Lucien mark me as his mate.

I hadn’t wanted to open my eyes until light suddenly flooded in. I squeezed my eyes and used a pillow of mine to cover my face.

“It’s almost time for breakfast, Miss Monica. You don’t want to be late.” I heard my maid, Flora say and I bolted up in bed.

I had to impress Lucien at all costs. Mi jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom where I filled the bathtub with warm water.

I took my bath as fast I could, did my makeup and dressed up. I picked a short skirt, and a matching fancy jacket and wore my heels as I left my room, rushing so I wouldn’t get there when they were half-dome with breakfast or worse, done with breakfast.

When I got there, they seemed to have just started eating.

“Monica. Didn’t you sleep well? You woke rather late this morning.” My mother said as I greeted them all and sat opposite Lucien.

“It’s a first for me. I couldn’t sleep last night.” I said casually to her, and she put on a frown.

“Why?”

“Just a couple of nightmares.”

“You should have come to spend the night with mummy then.” She said, but I shook my head in a pout.

“Then everyone would call me a baby. That’s why I couldn’t go to you.” I said, and glanced at Lucien to see if he felt the littlest guilt but he was on his phone, smiling at it.

What made him smile like that? It couldn’t be a woman right? No, Father had told me he wasn’t ready for a woman.

“Lucien, do you want to see the woods today?” I asked, and could see that my parents were shocked that we were already on first-name basis. He dropped his phone and looked at me, raising a brow.

“That’s a nice idea. You can practice archery. It’s been so long since you held a bow. Bring an animal home for me. We’d love to eat what you got us.” My father said, and Lucien chuckled. Wow… just that little chuckle had my heart racing at high speed.

“If that’s what you want, it’s not a big deal for me.” He said, and I folded my lips to hide my satisfied smile.

Immediately after breakfast, Lucien and I set out to the woods. I knew I wasn’t in the right clothes but I didn’t mind.

“Let’s catch a beautiful deer.” I told him, and he nodded. “Oh, and also, about last night, I’m sorry. I thought and thought about it last night but was still unable to see what was wrong in it. I trust you. It’s not like you’ll take advantage of me sexually.” I said with a light chuckle.

That was exactly what naïve girls said.

“So…” I started again when he didn’t reply. “I decided to apologize because even if I can’t see my mistake, I’m sure you can so I’d like to really apologize.” I said, and just then he pulled me towards me.

My mouth fell open as it was so sudden. Had he fallen completely? Was this what he wanted? Being completely alone with me? Did he like his things fast? Was he pretending, was he…?

Before I was done with all those thoughts, he had pulled my behind him and not towards him, and with great reflexes, raised his bow and took an arrow so fast that it was hard to follow the movement of his hands.

He aimed, and let the arrow fly and I heard a grunt. When I peeped behind him, I saw that a wild boar was close to him. I had been so absorbed in him that I had not noticed the boar.

“I guess we can leave now. I’ve gotten an animal.” He said, and I frowned.

“I wanted a pretty deer but we get an ugly boar?”

Lucien didn’t seem to mind, and we left the woods with him carrying the smelly boar on his shoulder. He was leaving early the next morning and I wasn’t sure I had much chances left with him. I threw a silent feet with my shoulders but didn’t let him see.

Instead when I got to my room, I called for one of dad’s men who took care of little businesses with him.

“You called for me, Miss.” He said as he stepped into my room.

“Well, I will go straight to the point. Where does Lucien live in the city?” I asked, and he furrowed his brows.

“I’m sorry, that is…”

“Remember Ashton?” I asked, and fear crossed his eyes.

Ashton was another of my father’s men who had refused to do my budding and I had framed him, accused him of trying to molest me sexually. He had been imprisoned with even heavier charges for daring to mess with the Alpha’s daughter. I was trying to let my current prey in front of me know that the same thing would happen to him.

Because nothing would stop me from my next plan. Nothing would stop me from following Lucien to the city.
