Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 42

Ch. 42 / 127 Aug 27, 2025

LUCIEN’S POV

What did she think she was doing? Why was she sitting in my house comfortable instead of going back to her house? Did she think it funny? Was it that easy to be an unwanted visitor in someone else’s house?

He needed all the time he could get with Adria and she was there sitting and making pointless conversation?

Adria looked at me like she was wondering if she heard me right. Why would I want a moment with a meighbour I had just met that day? And I didn’t want her to know how I knew Monica because I didn’t want her to feel uneasy at all.

It was definitely going to be a little intimidating when the man you loved had someone who was just like him and understood him better than you ever would, and I wasn’t going to let that happen.

Monica looked at me in surprise, not expecting me to say something like that, but when I stood up, she didn’t hesitate in standing.

I took her to my store where I was sure Adria wouldn’t hear us.

“Get to the point. What do you want?” I asked, and she scoffed with a smile.

“What do I want? Why would you suggest I want something? I want nothing.” She replied and at that moment she looked so annoying that I wanted to drag her out of my house and throw her back to her Palace where she belonged.

“Then leave and never appear in front of me.” I growled and there was a little shock in her eyes, although she blinked it away and gave a nervous laugh that showed her disbelief that I could actually say such.

“What do you mean? You and my dad are close, how could you say this to his daughter?” She asked, and it made me all the more annoyed.

I wanted to make it quick so Adria wouldn’t wonder what I had to say to Monica that took that long.

“I’m close with your father, not with you. Is there a rule that says I have to be friends with the daughter once I am with the father? Look, if you’re hoping to be in a romantic relationship with me, forget all about it because I’m never going to be with someone who’s not my mate.” I laid it all down for her without hesitation, then I took a step closer to her and used a finger to poke her chest. “Tell me, does your wolf call for me? Does it tell you things about me? Does it get excited when I’m near? You’re the only one getting excited in this and I’ll tell you plainly, I don’t feel a thing for you. Oh wait. I do. I feel disgust and annoyance whenever I see you.” I spat out, and she let out a little gasp of shock and hurt.

“Wh… what?” She asked in a hurt whisper but I didn’t care. I had finally found my mate and wasn’t going to let a little spoiled, pampered princess get in my way all because she felt she could play with me.

“Get lost.” I said in a low snarl, and she staggered staring at me in horror before turning away and walking quickly. I followed after her with my hands in my pockets and when she got to the living room, she went past Adria, sniffing and unable to say a goodbye to Adria who sat up straight, looking from her to me and wondering what had happened.

Monica left and I went to sit with Adria.

“What’s wrong? Why’s she like that? What did you say to her?” She asked, looking concerned and I leaned back on the sofa.

“I told her we needed to study and that I wasn’t fond of having unknown visitors. She got all emotional and I tried to make her understand but she wouldn’t stop taking it all emotionally.” I lied, and Adria hit my chest not too hard and not too light.

“That was so mean.”

“She was interrupting.” I said, leaning over to grab her textbooks and move it towards us. “Do you really need to study?” I asked, and she sighed before opening the notebook I wrote for her.

She started to write, filling out the answers of some questions on the textbooks and I watched her intently as she studied. Adria was beautiful and she was natural. How I loved staring at her.

“Seriously?” She asked, turning to me and I grinned.

MONICA’S POV

For days after the incident with Lucien, I stayed at my house thinking and being sad. I ignored calls from my mom, dad and everyone else who knew me and only littered my place with food plates, junk and other stuff I could stuff in my mouth.

Finally, my application was processed and I got a letter from the school telling me I could start schooling there but I wasn’t even moved. First, the guy I liked had made it clear that he didn’t like me, ripping my feelings apart in the process and secondly I hadn’t even taken an exam. Excess money and a few lies had pushed me in. Those humans were surely greedy. Wherever money was mentioned, they couldn’t keep sane. They were all bribed and they kept quiet.

On my first day, I dressed prettily, causing heads to turn but I didn’t pay anyone any attention. I met Adria in class but only said a hi to her and left even though she was eager to talk. I saw Lucien a few times too but he was the worst, he didn’t even look like he saw me.

A whole week had passed and I was already feeling miserable and thinking hard on my next move. I moved to New Orleans for him. There was no way I was letting him go.

I had learned that he and Adria were quite the close duo and everyone was jealous of them but since they simply had a teacher-student relationship, I didn’t mind, not until the day I was walking through the corridors after class, intending to go home and they were ahead of me, a little far away. Laughing and talking although they maintained a good distance from each other.

Then I tried to listen in to what they were saying…

“Come on, are you really not going to take me out?” Adria was saying.

“You need to read.” Lucien told her.

“Then convince me and make me read.”

“I love you.” Lucien whispered, and I stopped in my tracks.
