Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 69

Ch. 69 / 127 Aug 27, 2025

LUCIEN’S POV

The next day when I walked out of class, in the afternoon, Adria’s friends walked up to meet me.

“I’m really sorry, Professor Lucien but we are going to have to report this to the police.” Stacy said apologetically like they would be offending me by informing the Palace. “Adria’s mum went on a day’s business trip thinking Adria had decided to rebel and spend the night out without telling her, but she was really scared when she returned early this morning and couldn’t find Adria. She called us up and when we told her Adria was missing, she nearly went nuts. We had to lie to her that the police were on the case, and I feel we’re betraying Adria by not reporting this to the police. She’s probably so scared, and sad right now.” She explained, looking at her shoes.

“I already did that.” I told her and they all looked at me in surprise. “I and Zayne searched the forest and the street she went into but found nothing some decided we had to let the police know about it since it was proving to be really serious and done by an expert. Since yesterday night, they’ve been on it, and I assure you they’re still working on it, I’m a little worried too but I want to trust them on this.” I informed them, dipping my hands into the pocket of my coat.

They looked at each other, trying to share hope and I have a sigh. I wasn’t the only one worried. I should have given over to the police immediately I heard the case. Even if it was indeed Monica’s doing, a lot of people would be hurt if anything happens to Adria.

I had been wrong.

MONICA’S POV

I decided to take a little stroll to take a break from Adria, as I did, I marveled at my cleverness. They hadn’t been able to find Adria since I took her, and that was brilliant. Their narrow minds couldn’t see through my master craft tactics. My two days exploring the place had paid off.

However, as I bought snacks I could chew on, I was approached by Stacy, Daniel and Tommy and immediately put on my innocent gait.

“You’re eating snacks? When Adria’s missing?” She asked, and I stood straight.

“I was hungry.” I replied frankly in a soft voice.

“I haven’t eaten a thing all morning. I just can’t eat. You’re not even eating food, you’re eating snacks. It shows you’re not even…” she continued.

“What’s wrong with that?” I cut in, and looked at the two boys who looked like they weren’t saying a thing because they didn’t want to get on her nerves.

“What’s wrong with that?” She repeated in disbelief.

“I’ll be a real bitch if I’m sick worried about Adria, but yet have the time to fight her best friends. Grow up and face your worries and fears alone, Stacy. Stop trying to drag others in your misery and paint them black.” I replied, and turned, walking away from her.

She didn’t try to stop me or say a word and I knew I had gotten her. It served her right. She had better be careful because I was sincerely considering kidnapping her too and cutting off those crazy lips she used to talk down to me who was far greater than her.

As I left the store, my phone rang and I saw it was my mum. I smiled. Things were going fine, Adria had peed on her body when I went near her in my half-shift form. I only needed a snarl to make her sign the papers.

“Hey mum. How are you doing?” I asked, cheerfully, dipping my hand into the pocket of my jacket.

“Wow. I’m surprised. You sound really happy, Monica.”

“Well, them if you’re happy about me being happy then accept it as an apology for being a little thoughtless the last time I came. You know, I was really sad, scared and frustrated about things then so I must have taken it out on you. I’m sorry.”

“Wow, you apologizing is so rare. I usually see that once a decade.” She commented and I laughed.

“My plans are all in place. There’s no need to still transfer my aggression on you. I’m all fine now and I really miss you and dad.” I said, sweetly.

“When are you returning honey?”

“When my mate accepts me.”

“If Lucien will never accept you, Monica come home now.”

“If he’ll never accept me then I’m never coming home so pray he does.” I replied, and she sighed.

“Seriously, Monica. Anyways, I’ll be proud of he accepts you too. Just make sure you take your meals and be careful, take care of yourself, okay?”

“Sure, and tell dad I love him!”

“What really got into you today?’ My mum asked, laughing. “Hey, honey, Monica said she loves you.”

When Adria was out of my way in an unknown country, I’ll be the one to comfort Lucien and bring him closer to me. After all, whenever men experienced heartbreak, they always turned to anyone they could find. Why wouldn’t I be happy about that?

“I love you too, darling! What’s the occasion?” My dad asked, taking the phone from mum.

“No occasion. I’m just really happy!”

“We love you too, sweetheart.” My mum said and as I approached my path to the forest, I looked around.

“Talk to you later, just saw a friend.” I lied.

“Alright honey, bye.”

“Bye!”

I cut the call and made my way towards the forest where Adria was and when I got into the cabin, walked in happily with a smile on my face.

“So, has your decision…” I was saying when I saw the chair lying on the floor with cut ropes all around it.

My eyes went wide and I threw the snacks I had gotten from the store aside, shaking my head hard.

“No! No, no no! No!” I went to the table and checked the documents. She hadn’t signed the one I needed!

I looked around and spotted the window.

“Bitch!” I snarled, and ran, jumping through the window. It was dark already but that was better. I could see in the dark, she couldn’t. I knew my way around the forest, she didn’t.

She couldn’t have gone far. I hadn’t wasted time outside. I ran through the forest with speed, sniffing around and then I saw her abandoned sweatshirt.

“Shit!” I exclaimed picking it up and throwing it back to the floor. Then I raced in the direction she must have gone in.

She wasn’t going to ruin it for me. Not when I was this close. No! She would tell everyone everything, I couldn’t let her escape.

No, she couldn’t ruin my day!

I ran the fastest I hadn’t run in ages, discarding anything that could slow me down, whipping my head in different directions.

My heart beat faster with each powerful stretch my legs took. She couldn’t get away, she couldn’t!

And then I began to hear faint sounds of quick steps on dry leaves. She wasn’t far. Did she think she was going to get away from me!?

I jumped over low branches, pushed back bent ones and rolled back onto my feet when I tripped and fell. Nothing was going to stop me.

And then I heard her heartbeat, clearer than ever, and it was then I realized the direction we were going in. It was on the other side of the woods. How had she run that far? If she kept on going, she would emerge on the other side of the woods and one scream would be all it took to get people’s attention.

I doubled my speed, squeezing my face, my hands cutting through the air speedily. She looked back and saw me and screamed. All the more reason I needed to get to her quickly and when I got to her, I was going to give her the bite.

Werewolf saliva killed humans. It was poison to them and at that point, I didn’t care anymore. I would disfigure her face and bury her there in the woods after killing her.

She was no longer far. She was right in the grasp of my hands. I could practically feel her in my hands.

And with a huge jump, I climbed onto a low tree branch, kicked off from it and jumped high, landing on Adria, she screamed again but my hands had already found their way to her mouth.

We fell to the ground hard, rolling and getting scratched by stones and sharp broken branches but as we rolled by, my wounds healed. Hers, sweetly didn’t.

She tried to scream but I didn’t give her a chance. When we had rolled to a stop, I held her in place, bared my teeth, bent low and sank them deep into her shoulder.

My poison was fully administered and she let out a loud screech.
