Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 67

Ch. 67 / 127 Aug 27, 2025

ADRIA’S POV

As I watched her horrible transformation into her half-shift form, the scream finally left my lungs, loud and powerful, but they were unable to make it out because my lips were sealed.

Monica was a wolf? How on earth could that be possible? How could it be possible? I needed a lot of time to think and assemble my thoughts but Monica didn’t even wait for me to finally accept the huge and shocking revelation she had just revealed to me. She looked horrible, and I didn’t know what I had felt when she was about to burn my leg because I recognized what I felt at the moment as fear.

Real fear, strong and powerful and fearful itself.

My chest was heaving heavily and I was barely breathing as my eyes stayed fixed to the floor. Knowing that I was dating a werewolf was a little bit unnerving, but with Lucien, it was okay. He made me understand that they weren’t vicious creatures like the novels made them to be, and that was because he was attracted to me but with Monica, it was a whole different story, she wasn’t besotted with me, rather she was crazed with the thought of hurting me.

She hated me and so giving in to her wolf instinct to gobble me up wouldn’t be hard for her.

That was the main reason she had been talking about wolves and telling me they weren’t as the stories made them, that they were rather vicious. Was she a wolf that took a human once a week? Were all the things she had been doing?

But Monica… how could she have been a wolf? How could I not have known? And… Lucien must have known. Wolves recognized each other. Why didn’t he say a word about it to me? He knew Monica was dangerous and he had let her hang around me? He had watched me go everywhere with her and let her into my house?

I tried to think that he must have had his reasons but looking at the devil in front of me, there was no damn reason he could have had! Because he didn’t let me know, I was probably on the path to my grave.

But then, from the stories, the Alpha females were naturally weaker than the males so… so her being an Alpha didn’t mean… What was I thinking!? Even if she was an Omega, who was I? A human who would die with one brutal slash.

Monica snapped me out of my frantic thoughts by taking a step closer and dipping her hands into her tight jean pockets.

I shook my head and closed my eyes tight, begging her not to come any closer but I could hear her light steps and feel her coming closer than was required.

Then she went past me and I shook violently. Suddenly, I felt her lips close to my ear and my bladder let go. My urine went down straight, pooling onto the chair and soaking my skirt.

She scoffed.

“You’re this scared and you want to mess around with me? Take a good look, I’m not Lucien. I will tear and gut you up if I have to.” She blurted out and pushed something against my neck. My eyes flew open and I saw she had pushed a pen against my neck.

Then she saw me and withdrew the pen.

“Don’t be mistaken.” She said in amusement, pressing on a button, and suddenly a thin blade slid out, looking sharp and catching the reflection of a yellow lamp in a corner. She put the knife on her finger and gave a slight push and blood started spilling down, but then her finger healed up just as fast as it had been cut.

Then she withdrew the knife and pushed the pen back to my neck. My panic rose another notch higher.

“One click and that lovely beauty will be stained in your blood…” she said, close to my ear and my eyes watered. I went completely still, and even my heart beat felt too loud. It felt like it was going to put me in more trouble than I already was.

My fingers were wet with sweat already and so were my toes. I shuddered as pushed it closer and tears rolled down my eyes.

“But of course, it would be no fun to kill you that easily, right?” She stated, and tossed the pen knife, bringing her claws towards me instead. “By this time tomorrow, these beauties would sink into your skin brutally and bring out all the organs you have in you if you haven’t made your decision.” She threatened, and left my side. “I’m his mate. I’m who he should get married to, not you. You get me now? Wolves go for wolves! I have loved Lucien for years and prepared myself for him. I have the perfect picture of our mating ceremony and a disgusting looking insect wouldn’t ruin it for me, no!” She spat, and kicked the table.

It felt like I was on the edge of a cliff. I didn’t want to be entangled in a fight between wolves but at the same time, I had a foolish but persistent idea that Lucien would find me. My mother would have been dead worried, and would have been so scared.

“You must be hungry, right? Well, I’ll get you something delicious. I saw a few cute rats running around in the forest earlier. I know you care all about hygiene so I’ll be sweet enough to wash them in water for you, and then you eat them raw. If you do not eat, I will cut off a finger of yours and have it for a nighttime snack.” She said, and with her last words, bared her fangs.

I watched her as she left and swallowed hard. Fear had been my constant companion ever since she’d kidnapped me and I wondered why Lucien had not searched the forest for me yet.

And just then as I bowed my head in sadness, I spotted the pen knife Monica had tossed carelessly to the floor.

It was within my reach.
