Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 30

Ch. 30 / 127 Aug 27, 2025

ADRIA'S POV

I picked it up, and bit my lip. It was quite late.

"Adria." Came her worried voice.

"I'll be home soon."

"Where are you? At a club?" She asked, and my eyes darted to the band of musicians playing hardly.

"No! Why would I be at a club? I'm actually at a friend's party." I lied to her.

"Why are you out this late? You know you should be careful. You just recovered from your sickness not too long so why would you be out this late?" She asked, and I closed my eyes.

"I'll be home soon. I promise you, and I'm totally fine. Nothing bad has happened so far, and I have people who'll walk me home. It's totally fine, mum. You do not have to worry."

"That won't stop me from worrying. I need you home immediately." She snapped, and ended the call, leaving my mouth open.

I was on a two hour cruise. How was I supposed to swim across the water to get to her? Well, I had no choice so I might as well enjoy the night.

"Was that your mum?" Lucien asked, and I nodded.

"She's a little mad. Well, I wouldn't say she's mad, she's just worried. She wants me home but what more can I do? So, that been said, let's continue about how my boyfriend's the Alpha of a whole Kingdom." I told him and he smiled.

All through our time on the ship. Lucien showed me what he could do with his powers, and told me tales of great wolves, likewise the cunning ones that had tragic downfalls, and the ones who were never punished. It was a night of laughter and I felt alive.

Finally, our cruise was over, and we walked hand in hand back to the car slowly. I didn't want the night to end, I wanted it to go on and on, but of course, it had to end.

He dropped me close to my home because I didn't want him parking in front of my house where my mum could easily see us and wonder my professor was dropping me off so late at night.

"Thanks for tonight, Lucien." I said, blushing, and he bent, and gave me a kiss. Short but electrifying, and I couldn't help feeling his hands all over my body once more.

We parted and I waved him goodbye before running to my house. I pushed open the door gently. It was going to be a lot better if I didn't wake my mum so she could nag me. I locked the door behind me, and climbed up the stairs like a pad footed animal.

Luckily for me, I didn't meet my mum that night, and immediately I got to my room, I kicked off my shoes, took off my blazer dress and fell flat on my bed. I couldn't even take a shower. I was exhausted.

My mum's knock woke me the next morning, and I pulled the covers over my head. She pushed open the door, and stood there.

"Young lady." She called, and I closed my eyes tight, willing my dreams to come back, willing myself not to wake. "Adria!" She called sharply, and I pulled the covers off my head, and sat up grudgingly.

"Where were you last night? How could you return home that late in the night when you know your condition?" She asked, and I wiped my eyes.

"I left immediately after your call." I lied. "But the traffic was really hot."

"Oh really? You stayed in traffic for over two hours? You really expect me to believe that, Adria?"

"That's what happened mom."

"If you say so." She said, and left my room, slamming the door angrily.

I sighed, and melted back into my bed. I hated when my mum got angry so I took my bath hastily, and dressed as fast as I could.

I ran down the stairs and met her washing the dishes, then I hugged her from behind.

"I'm sorry." I apologized.

"Adria. You know how dangerous the streets are at night." She said, still in an angry tone, and I hugged her tighter.

"I'm so so sorry. I won't do that ever again." I apologized once more, and she took a deep breath.

"Then wash the dishes before you leave." She told me, and I tightened my lips in a fake smile.

"Sure." I told her and took over the dishwashing while she sat, and watched me, smiling at my discomfort.

LUCIEN'S POV.

I was woken by a call from Zayne, my beta, and grunted. I had been having a rather silly but nice dream about Adria and he had to ruin it.

"What's the matter? It's quite early." I told him.

"I wanted to ask about the vampires." he asked, and I sighed.

"Now that you mentioned it, I think I'm going to have to visit Alpha Grayson. It's suspicious how the vampires are being really quiet. Arrange a visit to him in three days." I told Zayne and he agreed.

Those three days felt like three hours. I had told Adria about the trip I was making and she had been sad about it, but talking about our night on the cruiser had helped her feel better.

I walked into Alpha Grayson's Palace, and was welcomed by the servants who bowed low to me. A guard directed me to where I would meet with Alpha Grayson, and upon entering, I guessed it was a kind of meeting room he kept for meetings alone.

Then a maid came and bowed to me.

"The Alpha would be here soon. You only need to wait a little." She informed me cautiously.

"That's fine by me." I assured her, and she left. Shortly, another maid came with a tray of buttered cookies, and dropped them in front of me together with a glass of milk.

She bowed, and left, and I took a sip of the milk, and just then, the doors opened again, and someone walked in.

That was when I met her.

Monica, the daughter of Alpha Grayson.
