MONICA’S POV.
She looked even more annoying than a fly at that moment and I desperately wanted to hit her till I was satisfied, probably till she was blinded by the blood pouring from her own onto her face.
Her eyes radiated with fear and she looked like she had just gotten the hang of things.
“Tell me exactly what you want in Lucien. He’s too good for you. He’s not in your league. He’s for me. He’s mine! I adored him for years and longed for a single kind word from him. I had all his pictures and videos on my wall. I liked all his pictures on all the social media he had, and even if he didn’t post much of himself, that didn’t stop me from leaving a comment on every single thing he posted, and then you come along. What? You want to be his? You want to stay by his side? Those lovesick looks you have are meant for me alone! I’m the only one eligible to give Lucien that look, and it won’t be pretty if I leave you that way!” I shouted, staring at her who looked at me like she were seeing a beast.
I continued. “When did you know him? Tell me. Has it been up to a year? Six months?” I asked, and she shook her head. “Yet you want to steal my childhood fantasies away? You want to snatch my dreams away? No, I won’t let you do that. I gave you the option of two handsome guys who were your age but what did you do? You left!”
“I… I did?” She asked, and at that moment, she looked like a huge housefly with an even huger head. How I wished to smack her across the face.
“The day at the library. Didn’t you leave? I paid those guys real money and then you decide to lecture me on werewolves? Tell me exactly what you know about them since you have one right by your side?” I asked menacingly with my fingers tangled tightly with each other in anger.
“Monica I…”
“You should leave Lucien. He’s not yours but mine alone, and by leaving, I do not mean you’re to…” I was saying as I got up and went to my bag which was on the table.
“You’ll get caught easily.” She suddenly said, as I searched my bag for the documents that would confirm her leaving the country, and my hands clenched around my bag. There she was again sounding like the one who knew too much, making me feel like I knew nothing. “What did you say?” I asked, turning around, and she stared at me defiantly.
“I’m the last one you called.” She spat, and I walked towards her and bent fully, staring up at her.
“Darling, I didn’t skip school for two good days for nothing. I didn’t buy a full cabin, check out all the good kidnapping spots and researched every night for nothing. There are no good cameras on the street you went missing and no one would even know you went in there. I didn’t prepare all this without preparing a good sob story to being myself out scot-free.” I said, taking out her phone from my pocket. I turned it on and deleted the message I had sent to her and then sent a new one.
*Meet me on the street behind Lucien’s house.* I typed and sent it to her.
“The time’s different.” She spat, and I smiled.
“No one would care about the time, why do you think they would? You’re going to travel out of the country and start afresh. You’re not returning, and you’re not to contact anyone. Not if you want to survive.” I threatened and just then, my phone rang. It was Lucien.
“If you know what’s best for you, you cooperate easily and quickly.” I added, getting up, and dropping my phone on the table as I picked up fresh tape, unwinding it. Adria began to shake her head, but she only had left and right to turn to. I got her easily and sealed her lips, and as she grunted and groaned, I picked up my phone and left the cabin to pick my call.
“Hi.” I greeted as I picked the call.
“Where are you?’ He asked.
“Why do you want to know?” I asked, trying to sound normal.
“Let’s meet up right now. Where are you? I’ll come to you.”
“Since when did you ever have the luxurious time to come to me. What happened? Are you feeling guilty because I’ve been absent for two days now? Where are you? I’ll come instead. Only if you are going to surprise me.” I said sweetly, pretending to be oblivious to his accusatory tone.
“I’m home.”
“Will be there in minutes.”

ADRIA’S POV.
I felt really miserable when Monica went out the door. Was she really planning to send me out of the country? Well, there was no way I was going. Lucien would find me. There was nothing Monica could do. She couldn’t actually kill me if she knew Lucien was a wolf. She’d definitely be scared to touch me.
But, how could I have been so foolish? How had I trusted her that easily? Why had I not questioned her weird behavior quickly?
Why hadn’t I pinpointed her lies out?
My mum must have been so worried.
Just then, Monica came back through the doors and turned on a gas cooker in a corner.
“I got this at the market.” She said, holding up a long metal cane with a circle at one end. “Apart from it, the house was blessed with everything I needed.” She continued and put the circled part of the cane into the fire, making the straight part lean against the wall. Then she turned and grabbed a mitten on the floor. “You know what this sweet metal stick has on it? It has the word forbidden on it, and by the time its hot and burning and I place it on your skin, you’re going to have the word forbidden on you also, isn’t that sweet?”
She turned to me and my mouth dropped.
No way… she… she didn’t mean it.
