Welcome Home

"I am pregnant," Fiona said and James stopped in his tracks.

James looked around ensuring it was just the two of them and no one else was around. He quickly turned around and holding Fiona's hand dragged her into the apartment.

"Stop it, James, you are hurting me," Fiona screamed.

"Quiet," James said to her in a stern voice.

"Let go of me else I will scream," Fiona threatened.

"Scream, like someone will come here and rescue you. Do you know exactly where you are?" James asked opening one of the rooms and throwing her onto the bed.

Fiona, who had fallen onto the bed got up and sat on the bed moving away from James who was advancing towards her.

"Get away from me," Fiona said sounding terrified.

"So this is all it takes to make you lose all your boldness," James said placing one foot on the bed and leaning on it.

Fiona pushed further back not realizing she had hit the edge of the bed making her fall over.

"Careful there, you don't want to give that bastard inside you a headache," James teased going round the bed to look at Fiona trying to get back on her feet.

"James please," Fiona begs, seeing the dangerous look in his eyes.

"Awww, it's such a pity no one will come to rescue you from me," James teased and went down so he could look her in the eye as she was sitting on the floor.

"Now tell me, why are you back?" James asked sternly.

"I found out I was pregnant," Fiona said through tears afraid of what James would do to her.

"Really, and for some reason, you want to pin that on me?" James asked.

"James, why are you doing this to me? You once told me you love me and I believed you. I won't deny I felt something for you hanging out with you all the time. I would have given in to you willingly. I was just scared of being dumped after giving in so I wanted to be sure," Fiona said in tears.

Fiona's words hit James' heart but he hardened his heart not to let any emotion take over him. No one had ever mentioned falling in love with him. From her eyes, voice and emotions, he could tell, she wasn't lying. She was being honest with him.

"Stop talking," James said moving away from her.

"Believe me, I am not lying to you. Do you know how I knew it was you that night?" Fiona asked and James who was standing with his back turned to her turned his head slightly to hear what she had to say.

"My mum once told me, no matter what, you feel a different connection with the man you are in love with when he touches you," Fiona said and James turned to look at her.

"I felt that connection. It was another reason I had that strong feeling it was you. You were the only person I felt that way about," Fiona said placing one hand on her chest as the other was on the floor supporting her weight.

"I was annoyed you took advantage of me. So what was meant to be beautiful rather turned ugly. I reported it to the police because I was mad at you. I took my case to news channels because I felt wrong," Fiona said as more tears flowed down her face.

James for the first time felt his whole being overcome by emotion.

"Stop talking please," James said his voice trembling.

Fiona lifted her gaze to see James staring down at her with a heavy sad expression all over him. She slowly stood up to her feet and stood in front of him.

"James, I fell in love with you despite your flaws. I fell in love with you despite what you did to me. Inside me, is our growing child," Fiona said, wrapping her hand around James's waist and resting her head on his chest.

"We may have gotten together the wrong way but this child came from our union and I am sure this is coming to unite us. Make us better people," Fiona said with her head on his chest as James stood like a statue being hugged with his hands hanging on his side.

Fiona lifted her head to look at James staring straight above her head. She stood on her toes and kissed his lips. James was hesitant for a while but he wrapped his arms around Fiona and kissed her back. His emotions battled within him but his feelings were aroused by her touches and he couldn't resist her. He ended up taking her to bed. They both found themselves lost in their passion.

Southwest Ranches City, Mrs Haward sat on the bed thinking about what next to do. She had thought announcing Jason as the CEO of Paradise Hotel would automatically destroy the reputation of the hotel and put Jason out of business but the hotel is still in business and performing better than before as the story had rather made the hotel very popular. The news rather made people search for the hotel online to know more about the hotel and what was so bad about it. Seeing the good variety of services offered by the hotel at affordable prices, people ignored the fact that Jason's name was mentioned in connection to the hotel and rather started patronizing the service of the hotel.

"I need to do something and fast. Jason can never find out about Julia's true family and he must never know I took it from her," Mrs Haward thought and dialled the usual contact.

"I have a job for you. Find Julia Harrison and make sure she and Jason never cross paths. Do whatever it takes to ensure the two never meet again," Mrs Haward instructed and ended the call.

Mrs Haward had earlier thought of bringing someone in to manage the company after Jason left knowing James was incapable of doing a good job but she realized she didn't have to, seeing the company was doing very well like the time Jason was managing it. She felt happy within her that James was gradually becoming responsible and making good decisions. What she didn't know was Jason put measures in place for the company directors to run the company in his absence. He didn't want the work of the man he once called father to go down the drain.

"I think it is safe to give everything to James," Mrs Haward thought and decided to talk to James about it when he returned from work in the evening.

Little did she know James was doing what he knew how to do best in the apartment she rented for Julia.

Julia was in Paradise Hotel for day two of her employment. She realised she enjoyed being a waitress even though that wasn't her dream. She remembers her mother who was doing the same job and she was loved because of her good service. She smiled as she thought of going to get a customer's order from the kitchen. Peter was in his office when the receptionist knocked and entered.

"Sir, there is someone here who wants to see you," announced the receptionist.

"Let the person in," replied Peter who was sitting behind his desk working on the hotel bills to be settled by the end of the week.

An average-height elderly woman walked into Peter's office as Peter watched his door.

"Please have a seat," offered Peter and she sat down.

"I am Dr Andesh, I am here to see Mr Haward," Dr Andesh announced after she had sat down.

"Sure, may I know the reason for the visit?" asked Peter wondering why a doctor would come to look for Jason.

"Just tell Mr Haward, that Dr Andesh is here to see him," Dr Andesh informed him.

Peter picked up his phone receiver and dialled Jason's office extension.

"Hello sir, Dr Andesh is here to see you," Peter said once Jason answered.

"Bring her to my office," instructed Jason.

Peter exited the office leading Dr Andesh to Jason's office. Julia was at the same time asked to submit some documents she didn't have earlier with her at the finance office. She saw the back of Peter and recognized him immediately but before she could look again he was no longer there.

"Was that Peter I saw or it was my imagination?" Julia thought still looking in the direction where she had seen the person.

"Ms Harrison, are you done with the finance manager?" asked the head chef who came looking for Julia and found her standing at the reception looking like she had seen a ghost.

"Not yet, I am going there now," replied Julia who snapped out of her thinking immediately.

Dr Andesh and Peter entered Jason's office and Jason welcomed Dr Andesh and led her to the sofa. Peter left back to his office.

"Welcome Dr Andesh, to what do I owe this visit?" asked Jason going straight to the point.

"I came here to tell you, your father wishes to meet you," Dr Andesh announced.

"So I am the stolen child from twenty-four years ago?" Jason asked.

"Yes," Dr Andesh replied knowing Jason is an intelligent person and will understand the news going around about Wellington's missing son leaving in London.

"So what about the story of my birth mother, is she gone?" Jason asked.

"Unfortunately the story was not a lie. She could not bear losing you. Her health deteriorated and that was it," Dr Andesh said sadly. "Mr Jason Wellington, welcome home," she said and Jason smiled.

"Just like that?" asked Jason making Dr Andesh wonder what he meant by his question.
