The Search Is Over

"He is a Wellington," Dr Andesh whispered with a smile.

She quickly picked up her phone and dialled Mr Wellington's number with the results in hand as she stared at it smiling.

"He is a Wellington," Dr Andesh announced as soon as the call connected. "Jason Haward is your son," she added.

"After so many years, I finally found my son. I wish I had followed things concerning him earlier. I would have noticed the striking resemblance," said Mr Wellington on the other end of the call.

"Technically, he found you. Your son is a man of integrity. I did a quick background check on him. I am yet to meet a man like him," Dr Andesh said.

"Tell me, what did you find about him?" asked Mr Wellington.

"Sir, I take it you don't follow the news?" Dr Andesh enquired.

"Dr Andesh, I do have people doing that for me. I don't need to," Mr Wellington replied.

"Well, this is what I found out. He became the new heir of the Haward family replacing his step-father, Mr Johan Haward........."Dr Andesh began.

"Yes, I did hear of his passing on the news back in California, Only I didn't pay much attention to all the news about the Hawards after," Mr Wellington interrupted.

"I guess you didn't hear of the scandals then?" Dr Andesh asked.

"You know what, this is not a conversation to be done on the phone. I will have my guard pick you up. Let's talk in my hotel," Mr Wellington suggested.

"Sure sir. I am at the hospital," Dr Andesh replied and the call ended.

She printed out the results and quickly worked on the report. Her phone rang and she quickly answered. She stepped out of the lab into the main hospital.

"I am done for the day I will see you in the morning. If anything comes up, call me," Dr Andesh informed the front desk as she put on her coat.

She exited the building and there was a ride waiting for her outside. She quickly got inside and headed for Mr Wellington's hotel. After a twenty-minute drive, they arrived at the hotel and the guard led Dr Andesh to Mr Wellington's room. A presidential suite.

"Welcome Dr Andesh," Mr Wellington greeted and instructed the guard to order some tea for them as he led her to the parlour and offered her a seat. "You have done a marvellous job but I am surprised you of all people never noticed anything," he expressed.

"I didn't know he was adopted. I did notice the resemblance but I always thought he was Mr Haward's son. I became suspicious when it was announced he was an adopted child of the family. The scandal was also a shameful one to associate him with a Wellington. This is another reason why I never pursued my suspicion and he also left town," Dr Andesh explained.

"I see," acknowledged Mr Wellington.

A knock drew their attention to the door. One of the hotel staff entered the private room holding a tray of tea which she served before exiting with a heavy tip from the guard.

"You mentioned some terrible scandals. What were they about and what happened?" Mr Wellington asked once they were alone.

"Well, the news went around all social media platforms naming him as a con artist. Apparently, he scammed the Haward family. The news circulated also mentioned he was adopted." Dr Andesh narrated.

"But what did not come to the public was when Jason stepped down as heir and also left the house with his wife without taking anything with him. He even left the apartment he purchased from his earned money before becoming heir to the Haward family. I believe he could have fought for his right as a legally adopted child of the Late Mr Haward. I mean, that is what I will do but he didn't. He rather left to start afresh elsewhere," Dr Andesh narrated.

"I see," commented Mr Wellington.

"I am not entirely sure why he came back to Florida hearing he was doing so well in an Estate company in Croydon. A lot is happening in his life. From my informant, the storm in his life won't end but this is no natural storm. Someone is behind it, " Dr Andesh informed him.

"Well good thing he came back, I wouldn't have known he is my son but who is behind the storm?" Mr Wellington asked.

"I believe it is his stepmother. That woman is very cunning. I am running an investigation on her to confirm my suspicion," Dr Andesh replied.

"Good. In the meantime, have someone control the storm," Mr Wellington instructed.

"Yes, sir. I think it's getting late," Dr Andesh said emptying her cup of tea. "But before I leave, I would like to know if you would like me to arrange for you to meet your son. I mean officially?" she asked.

"Yes. Let's do that at your place. In the afternoon," Mr Wellington replied.

"Sure, Sir," Dr Andesh acknowledged and stood to her feet exiting the hotel.

Meanwhile, back in Southwest Ranches City, 6th-floor apartment, Mrs Haward was back home and was back on the phone trying to make the story of Jason she had shared go viral.

"Who is stopping you from posting my story?" Mrs Haward asked angrily on the phone.

"It's coming from our Top news agency," replied the person at the other end of the call.

"Okay," Mrs Haward said and disconnected the call and called James. "James, do you still have the contact of your friend working at the top news agency?" she asked.

"Yeah, I do," James replied.

"Send it to me now," Mrs Haward demanded.

"Sure," James replied wondering what was going on but was not ready to ask questions.

James went through his phone contact and sent the contact to his mother. He was at his favourite club. He asked the lady he had paid for the night to give him a lap dance in a private room to continue. He had another lady, giving him a massage as he sipped a glass of red wine.

Mrs Haward quickly opened her SMS, and picked up the contact James had sent to her and dialled it bringing the phone to her ears.

"Hello Mr George, how are you?" Mrs Haward said, trying to sound composed.

"May I know who is on the line?" Mr George asked.

"Forgive my manners. It is Matilda. Matilda Haward. I am James's mother," Mrs Haward said with a smile.

"Oh! Mrs Haward, apologies for earlier," Mr George apologized.

"That is fine, no harm done," Mrs Haward replied.

"How may I be of help?" Mr George asked.

"Yes, there was this information about that new hotel. It was very bad and I think people should know. The Hotel is not what it seems to be. I believe people need to know what really happens in there," Mrs Haward began.

"Huh," Mr George chuckled. "I am not so surprised; I have always had my suspicion about the hotel. Nobody knows who the CEO is. It's very strange," he pointed out.

"Well, I do," replied Mrs Haward with a smile, happy she is making some progress and her story will now go out.

"Who?"Mr George asked curiously.

"Jason Haward, the scammer," Mrs Haward replied.

"No way! No wonder he didn't want anyone to know. This is hot news. Send it to me and I will have my team publish the story at lightning speed," Mr George said.

"Sure, I will. Just share your email with me and I will do that right away," Mrs Haward said and the call ended. "Finally. Jason, you will not know what hit you," she said smiling.

She sat back on her bed smiling ear to ear. Her eyes lit up when she heard the SMS notification sound. It was the email she had requested. She moved to her table and sat behind her laptop. She opened the document with the story she had written about Jason, updated it with some more discrediting information and emailed it to George. She smiled when she read George's acknowledgement with an assurance of having the news go out early hours of the morning. She smiled, turned off her laptop and got up from behind the table. It was fifteen minutes past eleven in the night but she went to the kitchen, opened the fridge, poured herself a glass of red wine and returned to her room. The lights of the house were already out as everyone had gone to bed.

James was not at home and Mirenda had still not returned from the hospital. She knew James was definitely at the night club and she knew where Mirenda was too but since they are both okay, she did not bother herself about them. She sipped her red wine as she sat on the bed feeling satisfied within. In her heart, she wished she could move time, so the morning would come quickly for her to see what would happen to Jason's new Hotel once the news was out.

The long-anticipated morning arrived and Mrs Haward was going through her media platform for the news and was annoyed when she didn't see anything.

As early as 5 a.m., she called Mr George wondering why the news had not been published yet.

"Calm yourself. My team just finished working on it. It will go live in 10 minutes," George informed her and the call ended with Mrs Haward smiling again.

In ten minutes as mentioned, she turned on the TV and the first thing she read was.

'Breaking News; Paradise Hotel CEO found. Jason Haward, the man who scammed the Haward family'

Mrs Haward laughed hysterically upon seeing the news on TV.
