ON THE GROUND
I feel like I am a hopeless case. I want to stand by my principles but only one word from him makes me turn my back on all the sane things in my life.
“You belong to me,” he whispered as his kiss trailed to my cheek. He was marking his own territory as he planted soft, feather-light kisses on my cheek, towards my lips.
I shut my eyes forcefully as I felt his soft lips on mine. It was soft and light at first but when I started to respond, his kiss got deeper and more magical. I could feel his hands on my sides rubbing my waist up and down as his kiss got deeper and deeper.
I moaned at his touch and then, I could feel his tongue tracing every corner of my mouth. I willingly give in to the mystique of his kisses.
His hands found their way inside my chiffon polo and went up to my stomach, up to my chest. I arched my back as I felt him cup my breast. I’m officially going crazy because of his touch.
I gasped when I felt his other hand touch my inner thigh. A thousand of unknown sensations rushed into my as he touched my core.
I’m so scared. I’m so damn scared because I know that I would give in to him every time, any time. I’m so afraid because I know that he could do anything to me and I will willingly accept it.
His kiss travelled to my jaw, down to my neck. I tried so hard to prevent a moan from coming out of my mouth as he found my soft spot. I’ve only been kissed like this once, and it was also by him.
Memories from the past started to rain over me as his lips lingered the whole of my neck. I could still remember that night that we went all the way, how he touched me with such carefully, how he filled me up, how he completed me, how he kept me whole.
I could still remember the feeling when we entered the paradise together, that feeling of his arms around me, that feeling of his lips on my hair.
How could I forget? How could I forget the most memorable day and feeling in my life?
I almost grunted when his lips left my skin and went up to lean on my ear. “Our friends are waiting…” he whispered as he left me leaning on the wall wanting for more.
Damn it! I did not just think of wanting more.
I looked at him and saw him getting something in the cabinet. He took a black shirt and walked towards me. He looked at me in the eyes. “Wear this,” he ordered.
I narrowed my eyes at him. “I have my clothes on,” I countered.
He scoffed. “I can see that but, apparently, every man in the pool thinks you’re walking naked out in the open,” he replied sarcastically.
My eyes widened with what he said. “No! You’re the only one thinking that way!” I exclaimed.
He shook his head and ignored my remark as he held the hem of my chiffon polo, motioning to take it off of me.
I yanked his hands away. “What are you doing?!” I asked him, shocked and nervous.
He blinked at me. “Removing your polo so you could wear my shirt,” he replied like it is just a normal thing to do.
My jaw dropped. “What?!” I asked in shock. “Why do you want me to wear your shirt by the way? You’re not my boyfriend! You don’t have the right to own me! I am not your property!”
I could see his jaw clenching at my words. He stared at me with dark and intense eyes. I could see anger lingering in his eyes.
“You didn’t break up with me,” he uttered. “Technically, we’re still together.”
I narrowed my eyes at him. “You may be right but we ended on the day you decided to date Rachel Grey.” I didn’t care if my voice is filled with bitterness. He’s getting under my skin.
He pursed his lips in a thin line but continued to stare at me with deep eyes. He didn’t utter a word but he continued to remove my polo.
I couldn’t move. One second, I couldn’t do anything against his commands. It was like I am caught in his gaze and my body is paralyzed.
He smirked when he was finally done. “Now, we’re good,” he said as he laced his fingers with mine.
I tried to take my hand back but he tightened his grip. I looked at him but he was staring straight, like he doesn’t know how annoyed I am right now.
“Let go of my hand,” I told him in gritted teeth as we were walking down the stairs.
He shook his head. “All men must know that you already belong to someone else. They must know that they don’t stand a chance,” he said seriously.
I sighed and still tried to take my hand.
He stopped and looked at me. “Eunique, please…” he pleaded.
I narrowed my eyes at him. “I’d only belong to someone else when you’re free of all the ties with her!” I said. “I won’t make myself be your other woman, Kai.”
He stared at me as he loosened my grip after hearing my words. He was dumbfounded.
“I wore your shirt. That’s enough for today,” I uttered as I pulled my hand back and walked ahead.
I didn’t wait for him and just started to proceed to the pool area. I didn’t expect the people to even grow number but they all did. The pool’s even more populated.
“Eunique!” I could see Janice waving at me from the other side of the pool area.
I immediately walked to them with a smile. I don’t even know if Kai’s still following me.
I was right. Hannah was with Byron, Janice was with Martin and Ashley was with Kris. They were all laughing when I got to the table.
I immediately gave Kris a death glare.
His eyes widened at me. “What did I do to you?” he asked acting innocent like a cute puppy.
I gritted my teeth. “You told him about this getaway, didn’t you?” I asked him.
I heard Byron laugh beside Hannah and saw Martin shake his head as Kris bit his lip looking guilty as charged. “You did, didn’t you?” I asked him, now, a note higher from my previous tone.
He gulped and looked at Ashley for some help, but she just rolled her eyes at him. “Well, he asked if you, girls, have a night out! I said yes and then he asked for the details so I did!” he replied defensively. “He’s just too persistent to know about it!”
I could hear Janice and Hannah chuckle at Kris’ reaction.
“What’s wrong, by the way?” Kris asked again.
I scoffed at him. “What’s wrong? Really? You’re asking me that now?” I asked sarcastically. “Why are we in the same room, by the way?!” I looked at Byron Trent.
Byron bit his lip. “Sorry, Eunique. The resort’s full right now. It was his idea to keep you two in the same room,” he nodded at Kris.
Kris widened his eyes at Byron who just laughed. “Dude, you said you won’t tell!” he whined but Byron just laughed and shrugged.
Kris looked at me apologetically. “Well, I can’t let him stay in my room with Ashley!” he reasoned earning a loud laugh from my friends.
I rolled my eyes and just shook my head. I couldn’t do anything about it now, could I? If I’m sober after this night, I could just drive home so I won’t have to spend the whole night with Kai.
I took one nacho and ate it before pouring tequila on the shot glass.
I was about to drink it when a hand stopped me. I could feel someone take a seat next to me. I looked at that certain person and I was right. It’s Kai, who else?
I narrowed my eyes at him as he took my shot glass from me. He even got the guts to hi-five with the boys. I looked at Ashley but she just shrugged. Wait, don’t tell me they are all into this idea?
Kai looked at me with a serious expression. “You’re not allowed to drink, Eunique,” he said as he drank the tequila on my glass.
I took a deep breath and just decided to ignore his whole existence beside me. I took one plate but he took it from me.
“I’ll do it,” he offered in front of my friends who are probably thinking of why I am letting these things happen between us. He looked down at me. “What do you want?” he asked.
I heard Martin clear his throat. I looked at him and he just smiled at me.
Janice looked at me with worried eyes before looking at Kai. “I think she’s about to get some pasta,” she said as she bit her lip.
I narrowed my eyes at her and she just looked down, playing with her fingers interlocked with Martin’s.
Kai looked at me. “You want pasta?” he asked.
I pursed my lips in a thin line.
“Damn. Why am I even asking? You love Italian foods.” He grinned as he placed pasta on my plate. He also placed pieces of nachos on the side before putting the plate in front of me. “What else do you want?” he asked as he sat beside me.
I looked at him, still with narrowed eyes.
He looked away and placed iced tea on a glass. He placed it in front of me.
I bit my lip before looking at him. “Aren’t you eating?” I asked him. I understand what he’s doing. I know what he’s trying to show me. He’s trying to make up for the things he just did, for all the violations he committed.
He just gave me a small smile.
My heart softened at the sight of his weak smile. “You should eat, too.” I couldn’t help but tell him. For one moment, I didn’t care about the six pairs of eyes staring at us right now. I felt like it was like the old times once again.
He stared at my eyes and smiled. This time, his stare softened. He wasn’t looking at me with such deep and intense eyes. He was looking at me like I am his most prized possession.
He placed his hand on my back and pulled his chair closer to mine.
“Eat your food first,” he grinned and I think my heart just fell down to the ground.
