To Make You Come Back To Me

Special Chapter 4

Ch. 36 / 37 Aug 19, 2022

KAISSER

I sighed hard as I was drowning in office works. I have tons of folders piled in front of me and I need to finish all of these today. Dad has been telling me that these papers are already needed for my next feelings.

“Mr. Bennett, the meeting will start at four,” Serena, my secretary, informed me.

I sighed and looked at the clock. It’s only ten. I have six hours at most to finish this and it’s what I did. I only stopped when Serena asked me if I will have my lunch delivered in here.

I opted not to eat now because I needed to finish all these. As a matter of fact, I am secretly blaming myself for partying all night last night and coming to the office with a major hangover.

But then again, for the past two years, I don’t even think I have a moment where I have a peaceful sleep without alcohol.

Because every time I close my eyes, I only see her soulful and attractive eyes, her plump and sinful lips…her voice…I hear her voice all the time that I think I am in some form of her trap.

I wanted to end it. I wanted to show it to her face that she is not the only woman I will ever love. She’s not the only woman for me. And I wish I could.

I hope I could.

I went to the meeting with a little headache. I have taken my meds for it so it had subsided. But the pain is still there.

It doesn’t matter anyway.

I am used to pain. I have been in pain for two years now.

“Kai, it’s good to see you, son,” Dad said when I sat beside him in the center aisle.

I nodded at him and was not supposed to care but then I stopped moving when I saw a familiar face in the room.

Rachel Grey, if I remember it correctly.

She smiled at me slightly and there I confirmed that it is her. I smiled back and bit my lip before looking away.

I tapped my fingers on the table, hoping for it to be done soon but my father has so many questions with the proposal that it took us almost an hour to discuss the necessary changes only for it to be reviewed again. If I were the presenter, I would have rolled my eyes at Mr. King Bennett.

“Hi,” Rachel said as she approached me after the meeting.

I smiled at her. “Hello. It’s nice to see you here,” I replied.

And there I remember how she introduced herself to me that night. Rachel Grey, the only daughter of Raymond Grey, one of the biggest shareholders in this company.

“My dad is in Vietnam until tomorrow so I had to come in his place,” she explained.

I nodded slightly. I turned to her and saw her smiling widely at me. Her eyes are slightly twinkling and her thin lips are enticing.

Goodness, Kai! This is because you haven’t kissed a girl in a long time.

“Are you free tonight?” I asked her.

I wanted to do this, alright. This is for my own good. I can’t keep hurting for a long time. I should put an end to my misery and the only thing to do it is to date other people.

And maybe this is the time to date someone to preoccupy my mind from thoughts of her.

Rachel’s eyes widened. “Are you asking me—”

“Out? Yes,” I interjected. “Are you free?” I cleared my throat. “I mean…if you don’t have a boyfriend or anything…”

Her lips parted and she nodded widely. “No…I mean, no, I don’t have a boyfriend,” she replied. “And yes, I am free…”

I smiled and nodded. “Good,” I uttered. “Then I’ll see you tonight at Redendz Bar.”

I smirked at her before taking my leave.
