OFFICIAL
I stayed with Kai in his office the whole afternoon that day. I tried to ponder on the topic about our picture but he doesn’t give me a clear answer.
He sighed and looked at me as he made me sit on his desk. His arms are both on my sides, trapping me in between.
I could feel his breath close to my lips. I stared into his eyes and was lost right on the spot. “I just want to know what you would do,” I told him as I bit my lip.
He looked down at my lips before staring back into my eyes. “I would do everything to keep you. That’s my plan,” he said as he planted a soft kiss on my lips. “I can lose everything but you. I can’t…I can’t afford to lose you again.”
My heart hammered against my chest as tears are forming at the sides of my eyes. I had an idea that he would tell me this but hearing it from him makes me feel all these pent up emotions coming to life again.
It feels different.
“Did you hear me?” he asked as he caressed my cheeks. “I’d rather lose all the money, all the wealth than lose you. So please, stay with me, Eunique. Don’t ever let me go,” he whispered, begging, as I stared in his eyes.
I bit my lip as my system is being hypnotized in his stare. I nodded and smiled. I couldn’t lose him at any cost, too. Maybe this is the time that I need to fight for what I want. I’ve been living in a life of full directions from other people. I think this is the time that I stand up for what I want to.
Kai is willing to lose everything for me. I need to stand up and fight for our love, too.
“I’m meeting with Rachel’s family tomorrow,” he told me.
I looked at him, serious and nervous at the same time. “Do you want me to be with you?” I asked him.
He smiled and shook his head. “This is about me and her, honey. You don’t need to come,” he replied. “I’m meeting her family with mine. And I don’t want to pull you into this mess.”
I looked at him, worried about what’s going to happen tomorrow. No matter how much he tells me how he doesn’t want me pulled into this mess, I already am. When I decided to be with him despite his relationship with Rachel Grey, I became a part of this mess.
But I wouldn’t insist. I trust that he could do this on his own.
He shut his eyes and planted an adoring kiss on my lips. “I love you. Always remember that,” he told me.
I nodded. Oh, God! I love him more and more.
After office hours, Ashley texted me to meet with the gang for dinner.

We’re all going. Complete. You and Kai should come.
I looked at Kai who was loosening his tie after finishing to read all those reports.
To: Ashley Grant
I’ll see.
I bit my lip as I sent the message.
“Who are you texting?” Kai asked me as he sat beside me on the couch, wrapping his arm around my waist and leaning his chin on my shoulder.
I showed him my phone with the thread with Ashley opened. “They’re asking if we can eat dinner with them.” I smiled.
He looked at me and smirked. “Well, we could. But I would love to have you all for myself tonight,” he chuckled as he kissed my earlobe.
I immediately blushed as I heard his words. Memories of that morning where we made love came rushing to my memories.
His kisses traced my jawline to my neck and I couldn’t help but shut my eyes, biting my lip to prevent a moan from escaping my lips.
I almost grunted in frustration when he stopped, buried his face on the nook of my neck and chuckled. “I think we should attend the dinner Ashley is talking about,” he whispered as he helped me up.
I cannot even look at him. What the hell? How could I think of doing other things right now?!
He kissed me on the cheek. “You’re hot and all but I can wait,” he said, laughing.
I blushed and suddenly wanted to curse at him. He’s teasing me and I know that. Damn it!
He placed his hand at the small of my back as I walked towards the HR office. I’m pretty relieved that everyone has gone home. I would stand up for my love for him but the issues are still hot. I don’t want to make the situation worse when someone else sees us.
“Did you bring your car?” he asked as we entered the elevator.
I nodded and searched for my keys inside my bag.
“Leave it here. You’re riding with me,” he said as he laced his fingers with me.
I tried to pull my hand away but he gripped on it tighter.
“Stop trying to escape me. You can’t. I won’t let you,” he spoke in a very serious tone. He pulled me closer to him, holding my hand close to his chest.
I looked at him and couldn’t help but smile.
He chuckled. “That’s right, Eunique. Smile more,” he said, kissing my knuckles.
I bit my lip and smiled as I looked straight ahead. My heart is finally at ease.
When the lift opened, he immediately led me to his car parked not so far from mine.
“I’m going to drop you off at home, too,” he told me as he opened the passenger door for me. “I’m going to fetch you tomorrow morning as well.”
I looked at him. “How about my car?” I asked.
He smiled. “I’m going to ask my assistant to bring your car home. You’re not going to need it now, Eunique. You have me. I can drive you anywhere, anytime you want,” he spoke as he kissed my nose. “So, please, don’t try to fight back.”
I just shook my head as I got inside his car.
He was smiling widely when he ran off to the driver’s seat and placed in his seatbelt.
I have to get used to this. I have to get used to having him around again. It’s not a hard task to accomplish, though, since I’ve been wishing for this to happen again.
We drove off to the restaurant Ashley texted me. Kai was talking incessantly about the deals he has yet to finish within the coming month. I gladly listened and was silently proud at how mature he has become. I could remember it clearly. He never wanted to run their business. But right now, I can see how he’s so indulged into running their business.
It’s like he’s started to love what he used to not want.
I smiled.
“By the way, I heard from Paulo that you conducted an emergency meeting with the new applicants,” he said, giving me a quick glance.
I nodded. “He helped me convince the applicants, though,” I replied, shrugging. “He’s really good with words…” I nodded as I remembered how Paulo convinced everyone to stay.
I suddenly felt Kai’s hand on mine, squeezing it lightly. I looked at him, confused and questioning.
“You should’ve asked me to help you, not someone else,” he told me with a hint of jealousy in his voice. He played with my fingers.
I looked at him innocently. “I didn’t ask for his help,” I started. “I was even shocked to see him by the door.”
He narrowed his eyes on the road and I could see him clench his jaw. He didn’t speak after but he continued to play with my fingers.
I chuckled and planted a kiss on his cheek.
“Damn it, Eunique!” He exclaimed.
I laughed at his flustered face. “Don’t get jealous. I like you alone,” I told him.
He sighed and slowed down. “I love you. You can’t just get close to any other men. I’m your boyfriend!” He pouted like a cute kid.
I laughed and shook my head. “You hadn’t asked me to be your girlfriend yet, Kaisser Bennett,” I corrected him. “Technically, we’re not official.”
He glared at me. “I love you. You love me. What’s not official with that?” he asked, slightly growing frustrated.
I smiled but bit my lip. I don’t know if I find it really cute or I just want watching him so frustrated. I missed the times when we didn’t have to think about anything. I missed the time when we can be together without any complication.
That’s why I want to cherish this moment. It makes me feel like it’s the old times once again.
He pulled over the restaurant. I was shocked and didn’t even notice that we’re finally here. I was too engrossed on teasing him.
He removed his seatbelt and trapped me in between him and the door. His eyes are narrowed at me. He crashed his lips onto mine, kissing me passionately. I closed my eyes and savored his lips on mine as he traced every corner of my cavern with his tongue. Damn! I don’t want to stop.
I was about to kiss back fully when he broke the kiss and smirked at me.
“Why did you stop?” I narrowed my eyes at him, frustrated and slightly angry that he had to break the kiss when I was just trying to…damn!
I should be really ashamed of myself. I wanted more of him. I wanted to kiss him more but he stopped and I’m as mad as a kid who was stolen a lollipop from!
He looked at me as he unbuckled my seatbelt. Even his look is teasing me as he bit his lower lip.
“We’ll do everything when we’re finally official,” he said devilishly. “Too much for not being official, right?” he spoke and I was lost for words!
