Having heard enough of the sappy story, Vixen sighed to herself and stood.
I watched her as she turned the lights off encasing us in darkness, she turned the dim light.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"You need to sleep, I will come back for you in the morning," she said.
My heart thumped in my chest, I couldn't sleep here.
"I need to go," I mumbled to myself.
Vixen shook her head, "Stay here and gather your thoughts. I will be right back.
She left me alone in the room, there was no gathering of thoughts.
I was as lost as a black sheep in the night.
I didn't know what I should think. No, I didn't know what I was thinking unloading all that on a stranger.
She must think I am pathetic, I was complaining of not pleasing my master while she was a master at pleasing her clients.
This sucks.
A knock came at the door and Diane's head peeked in, she strolled in with Zack at her heels.
"Hey, you had us looking for you all over the club."
I sighed as she hugged me, "Sorry, I needed to talk to Vixen."
Speak of the devil.
Vixen came in and barely spared us a glance as she rummaged through her bag.
Diane turned to her, "Thanks for looking out for my girl but we have to go now."
She was already pulling me towards the door but Vixen shook her head.
"She is not going back with you. We have some business to take care of."
Zack looked at me and I nodded. He nodded too like he understood.
Diane shook her head, "There is no way we are leaving her here. What if something happens to her?"
Zack pulled her off of me and caged her in his arms.
"Relax, Vixen would never do anything to hurt anybody."
Vixen shrugged like she could be bothered by his words. Diane looked at me and I sent her a smile.
She nodded and allowed Zack to lead her out of the room.
Vixen nodded toward the chair, "Make yourself comfortable."
I laid down on the chair and marveled at how soft the cushion was. I closed my eyes and I was out like a light.
The lights streamed from the window and I cursed myself for not closing the curtains.
I lifted a hand to shield my face and looked around confused, it wasn't my room.
My head felt foggy as I struggled to remember the events of yesterday, this is why I hated drinking.
The memories slammed back to me so hard that I jerked, the presence beside me did nothing to help me.
I was startled, I saw Vixen sitting beside me on her phone.
"Welcome back. I have been waiting for you," she said in her sultry voice.
"That doesn't sound creepy at all," I mumbled.
She ignored me as usual.
"I thought about what you said all night and you don't deserve to be in pain over your pleasure. That defeats the purpose," she said.
I cocked not head to the side wondering what the was blabbing about.
"Huh?"
That was what my nonsensical brain could come up with.
Vixen shook her head, "Come on, I think we need to get you coffee before you can process any information."
My eyes brightened once I heard coffee, I looked at Vixen and I noticed she had changed her clothes and had no makeup on.
She looked younger.
She handed me a set of keys, "Go wash up, I am waiting for you."
I gestured to the keys in my hands, "What am I supposed to do with this?" I asked, dangling the key in front of her.
"It's the key to my guest room here at the club, go get washed up. It has my name on the door.
I shrugged and headed to her room, It was maroon red and it suited her taste. I was happy, she was going to help me.
Help me please Killian or forget him, I had no idea what I signed up for. I guess we will tell with time.
I took a quick shower and dressed up in the outfit she left on the bed for me. Not bad.
I found her still sitting in the room when I got back.
"Are you ready?" she asked.
I nodded.
Vixen took me shopping, we got our hair and nails done and we had good conversations that made the pain cease to hurt.
My love life was the last thing on my mind as I gulped my burger, Well, that was until she said something that made it taste sour.
"What?" I asked, shocked.
"Hear me out, I think you should officially break things off with him. It might help you feel begged."
Bad idea.
I didn't want to feel better.
She must have seen the look on my face, "Aren't you a little curious about him?"
"Not so much."
"I would be."
"I don't know what to think. We haven't been on talking terms since that day."
Vixen raised a brow, "Have you checked the villa?"
I shook my head, I haven't gone back there.
"I haven't gone there."
"Maybe you should."
She had a fair point, it felt like Killian and I had some unresolved issues and the only way I could get over it was confronting him.
But there was one flaw in this plan, I don't know how he would react to seeing me.
We didn't part on good terms. I threw his marriage proposal in his face and called him a murderer while defending my friend who he warned me to stay away from.
Peachy.
Maybe I should not have listened to her.
I was standing in front of the villa and all I could was that I was a glutton for punishment.
Tears threatened to spill from my eyes when the memories I tried so hard to forget came tumbling down like a pack of cards in my head.
Fuck you, Killian!
