I was smiling so hard by the time I reached the break room. His eyes on me made walking away so powerful.
I swayed my hips feeling his gaze burn hotter than it was.
I realized I had no reason for coming here and just hung around till I was sure he was back in his office.
I spent the rest of the day ignoring him. It didn't make me feel better but it was worth the frown on his perfect face.
I didn't wait for the day to end and I rushed back home to make dinner. I was suddenly craving for pasta.
I ignored his calls and texts asking me if I was home yet. I could imagine smoke coming from his ears.
I laughed.
I kicked off my shoes and settled Into the kitchen to make the food just for myself. I didn't make any for Killian.
The sweet music I hummed to made the situation better. I belted the lyrics at the top of my voice, out of tune of course.
When he got home, he didn't speak to me. He simply went to bed hungry in the guest room leaving me all by myself.
I got mad when I realized my plans didn't work and I was still proving his point by being childish.
A sensible person would call it off but we have established I am not in that category.
I ate my pasta, moaning to myself about how good it was. My body calmed when I satisfied my craving.
It had been antsy since. I cleared the kitchen and washed the plates before putting the remaining food into a container for preservation.
I showered and went to sleep.
My nighttime routine was so simple that I wondered what made it so exciting before.
Sleeping next to him.
I sighed to myself and got ready for bed. It's been a long day.
As usual, I spent the night tossing and turning with my mind millions away from having a good night's sleep.
I still couldn't sleep without him and it was beginning to piss me the fuck off.
"Come on," I grumbled to myself as I tried to count sheep before drifting off.
Morning came up so fast that I had time to get up from bed. My stomach was in knots and I was in a funny mood.
I tried to check on Killian but his car wasn't there. My heart broke a little when I realized he was giving me the space I needed.
I didn't want it. I got mad again.
I got dressed for the office and hyped myself for today's stress.
Today wasn't any different. Killian was in and out of meetings and I was buried in my neck with work.
He still wasn't talking to me. Only to ask for the files and whatever meeting he planned on attending.
Lunch came faster than expected but I didn't have time to eat since I had to wrap up the work I had.
I could hear my stomach grumbling but I held it in. I would eat when I got home, I had leftover pasta in the fridge.
A knock sounded on the door making me snap my head up to look at the intruder. It was a delivery man.
My heart slammed in my chest and I automatically prepared myself to receive a gruesome letter.
It has been silent these past few days and it seems Killian was right, if we stick together then the threats would die down.
I gulped and stretched out my hand.
"Good afternoon, a food delivery for Miss Catalina."
I smiled at the delivery man even as I watched his body language. He was keeping his distance from me.
That was good.
"That would be. Do you know who it's from?" I asked.
He handed me the package and I eagerly searched the bag.
It was from my favorite restaurant and one of my best dishes. My excitement faded when I realized my stalker must have tried another method to get to me.
"Who sent this?" I asked.
He shrugged, "No idea, miss."
I made a noncommittal sound in my throat as I nervously searched for a clue on who sent this.
I checked for any written notes and disappointment filled me when I didn't find any.
"No note?" I asked the delivery man.
He shook his head in amazement, "No, but there were strict instructions that you take it easy and don't overwork yourself."
My heart warmed.
Killian just kept melting my heart at every turn. I should go thank him but my pride wouldn't let me.
I was far too gone in my anger to show appreciation. I kept the work aside and began eating.
The food was good. The smile on my face was bright enough to feel a light bulb.
I wanted to go share Killian since he was generous enough to buy me food but that would mean admitting that I was wrong.
That's not happening.
I finished the food and cleared the plates, eager to continue my work. My stomach was happy so now, I was too.
I was way into it when Killian stepped out of his office. I gave him a shaky smile but it soon turned to a frown when he didn't return the smile.
Okay then.
"Catalina, I need the Remington files," he said.
I sighed and turned to search for it on the system.
"Did you hear me?" he asked impatiently.
My patient waned, "I am getting to it." I snapped.
"Hurry up, I don't have time." he snapped back.
"If you are in so much hurry then get it yourself," I yelled.
He glared at me, "Do it."
"I don't want to fight right now. I have been working since morning but..."
He cut in before I could finish.
"If you spent more time pushing your work instead of avoiding me then you wouldn't be complaining," he said.
I tensed and without thinking, I hurled the empty plate at his head.
