I hung up hurriedly and shoved both my phone and letter into my bag.
I kept the necklace out because it was the only thing keeping me sane. My chest heaved and I willed myself to take deep breaths and count to ten.
Who the hell is this psycho?
I was more than worried now, I thought it was a silly prank but this was too far. How did he or she even get access to Killian's gift for me?
This is sick. It's making me sick.
I should tell Killian. He can protect me.
I shook my head, no.
I can't tell him, not yet. Not when there is a high chance that it is connected to Vixen.
My hand flew to my lips, she had been kidnapped.
I broke down into sobs knowing it was my fault she was in this mess in the first place.
Guilt racked through me and I tampered it down reminding myself that Vixen was a grown woman and capable of making her own decisions.
Nope, that did not make me feel better. Not even one bit.
I clutched my bag right as I cried in my office. I was in bigger trouble than I thought.
I wiped my tears with a tissue. There was no need to hang around here since we were done.
I grabbed my keys and locked up my office, leaving instructions for them to clean up and lock up as usual.
I drove home.
I had just stepped through the door when Diane's text came through. My heart leaped with joy when she said Vixen was sighted in a club downtown.
I sent her a quick one telling her I would check it out.
I sank into the couch and laid my head against it. I stayed there till Killian met me there as he came back.
He dropped his bag and helped me remove my shoes.
"Rough day?" he asked.
I nodded. He placed a kiss on my forehead and went to shower.
He came out minutes later with a new suit.
"Going somewhere?" I asked.
"Yes, I have another business meeting. I wanted to to go with me but you look tired."
"Oh okay."
"I prepared a bath for you. You will feel better once you do that and eat. I am sorry I am not here to do more."
Oh, Killian, you have done more than enough. This is enough.
He kissed me before rushing out telling me he ordered dinner for me.
My heart melted at his thoughtful gesture once more.
I waited till he was gone and took the bath. The food arrived and I was quickly almost giving myself indigestion.
I wore my lucky dress. A black number I bought sometime that was suitable for the club.
I called Diane once I was in my car, "I am headed there now."
"Okay, be careful. I heard it's not as friendly as Killian's club."
"Okay, noted. I will call you with updates."
I hung up, said a quick prayer, and started driving.
I got to the club and clutched my purse close to my arm. The insides didn't disappoint, it was beautiful but Diane was right about one thing.
It wasn't Killian's club.
Here didn't make me feel safe. I walked through the tables and from the corner of my eyes, I spied a private booth filled with four businessmen.
I ignored them and went straight to the bartender while unlocking my phone.
"Hi, what can I get you?" he asked with a friendly smile.
I sidled up the bar making the bartender's eyes slide right down to my boobs.
Gotcha!
"I am looking for someone," I said in my best sultry voice.
"Sorry, I just started working here."
"It's okay, I have a picture just in case."
It was a good thing I had Diane send me a picture. I showed my phone screen to the bartender but he just shook his head.
"Sorry, I haven't seen her before."
My shoulders slumped with disappointment as I pouted. That Defeated my purpose of coming here.
"Hey, the manager is at the back maybe he can help you."
My eyes lit up and I thanked the bartender by slipping him a fifty before setting off to the back.
I felt hands paw at my dress, some even grabbed my ass but I swished past them and ran straight for the back.
I met the manager with his dick stuck in the throat of a girl. He grunted as he shoved his tiny dick in his pants and leveled me with a glare.
The girl ran off.
"Are you the manager?" I asked with my hands crossed over my chest.
His eyes wandered to my boobs again and he smirked making me shiver with disgust.
"Have you seen this woman around?" I asked showing him a picture of Vixen.
His eyes dimmed with disappointment knowing that I wasn't here to continue where the girl left off.
"Sorry, I haven't seen her before." he shook his head.
He looked like he had more to say but he spun around and left me standing there. I shot a quick text to Diane letting her know it was a fruitless attempt on my left.
I stopped by the lady's room and relieved myself. I stopped when I saw a man standing there with a lazy grin on his face.
He was dressed in a suit so I assumed he must be one of those businessmen I saw earlier.
I paid him no attention as I stepped around him.
"Aren't you going to say hello?" he asked.
"Why?"
He chuckled, the sound causing me to flinch.
I stepped back putting space between us, my eyes darting for an escape. I didn't like the way he was staring at me and we were alone in here.
Like he just realized it, his eyes lit up and he stepped close to me so I could smell the alcohol on his breath.
"You are pretty," he said.
"Thank you." I made a show of looking at my watch and back to him with a disinterested face.
"Can I go now? My boyfriend is waiting for me." I said.
He chuckled, "Does your boyfriend know he is not supposed to leave you alone in this sort of place."
I scoffed.
I pushed past him and he gripped my arm, trapping me between him and the wall.
His hand clamped my mouth as he wedged a knee between my legs.
"My, my, my. What a turn of events," he said like he was proud of himself.
I rolled my eyes and bit his hand, he swore as he let go and I ran to where people were.
He wouldn't hurt me with eyes on him, would he?
I took two steps when I felt a painful tug on my skill making my head split into two. I turned to see him holding my hair in a grip.
"Fuck!" I swore.
He grinned as he dragged me back to him, my front flush against his.
"Teasing me like that and running away. I wonder how your boyfriend would react when he sees me fucking you."
I struggled against him as he tried to kiss me. I fought him with all my strength but he was too strong.
Suddenly, he is pulled off of me.
I opened my eyes and it widened when I saw Killian angrily beating the man into a pulp.
"Oh my God!" I whispered.
He looked so angry, I was afraid he would kill the guy.
"Killian," I said but it was weak.
By now, people surrounded us to see what the drama was about. I rolled my eyes.
Nobody seemed to care when he was forcing himself on me.
"Killian, you will kill him. Let him go."
He wasn't listening to me.
I grabbed his fist as soon as he raised it and his eyes swung to me. My gaze strayed to the man and I winced when I saw his state.
"Let's just go," I whispered as I caressed his face.
Killian snapped out of it as he grabbed my hand and roughly dragged me out of the club.
He took me to his car, "Get in."
"I came with my car," I said timidly.
"Get in the fucking car, Catalina." he roared.
