The Alpha's Broken Slave

Chapter 35

Ch. 35 / 60 May 03, 2026

Ares.

Everything happened too quickly and despite my speed I couldn't save Alora from the incredible pain she was about to experience and when she stepped backwards, I heard the sound of the broken pieces crumble under her feet as a soft scream escaped her lips as she staggered, falling backwards and landing on her butt.

"Ah!" She screamed, closing her eyes tightly as she reached for her foot that had started to bleed.

I frowned, glancing at the pieces of glass that laid everywhere, one more wrong love and she would be lying on broken glasses.

So I crouched down in front of her as I watched her gently, her violet eyes filled with tears making them glitter softly under the dim light. Then I turned to her feet, there were pieces of glass stuck under her feet and I reached for one of them but before I could touch it, Alora jerked away.

The scent of fear filled my nose and rolled my eyes before giving her a glare.

"Stop moving." I ordered, watching her swallow as a tear escaped her eyes and she looked away, nodding silently.

My heart prickled at the sight of her tears but I shoved down any pity I might feel and reached for her feet once more.

They were small and dainty I noticed for the first time. And as I reached for the glass I realized the chain mark that circled around her ankles. Like she had been shackled there also.

And for a second, I wondered what kind of master she had before she ran away.

I shook my head, dispersing any thoughts that might cloud my mind. Not that anything about her was my business and I didn't care.

Pulling out the glass from her feet, Alora shook in fear every time I touched her and I discovered how soft her feet were and an image flashed in my head of her toes between my lips.

"Ouch!" Alora gasped, jerking away from me as I snapped out of my thoughts and noticed I had pushed one of the pieces deeper into her feet unconsciously.

I didn't apologize, instead I growled under my breath and continued until the rest of the pieces were out of her feet. Before I stood up, stepping backwards.

Drops of blood stained her feet, dripping from every cut. I reached for one of the napkins on my table and placed them gently under each foot when I noticed Alora had stopped shaking and the fear radiating off her had dispersed a little.

That was when I could feel holes boring into my skin and then I looked up to meet Alora's violet eyes watching me intensely.

"What? Does it hurt?" I asked, glancing at her feet and then back to her but she turned away, her cheeks flaming red as she shook her head vigorously.

Why was she suddenly acting weird?

I wondered as I said nothing before wiping off the rest of the blood and throwing the napkin on the chair as I stood up and glanced around the table.

The cup of vinegar sat just beside the jug Alora had brought with her and I leaned closer to see a tag just beside the handle that read 'vinegar' Shaking my head I buried my forehead in my palm.

Of course, she couldn't read so she probably thought it was water too because it had no color.

And worse of all was that she had no wolf to even detect the smell was different that usual.

I turned back to Alora who was watching me curiously and I grabbed the jug. She jerked in fright as she pulled her knees closer to her chest and buried her face between them.

"Look up." I announced. "I'm not going to hurt you." I was getting tired from her constant fear of me and it was better she knew what she had done. I squatted in front of her, trying hard to ignore her scent that filled my nose and sent my brain to overdrive.

Alora rose her head gently, her black hair covering part of her face and her violet eyes watching me curiously.

"This is vinegar. It's not water and it's used for properly washing fruits." I said, pointing at the jug in my hand and she stared at me curiously and I noticed she had inched a little closer.

"If you look here, Lana already specified what it was so no one mistakes it for water." I pointed at Lana's curvy writing. "V.I.N.E.G.A.R that's what is spelt and water is W.A.T.E.R '' I explained and if there was a way someone could look even more confused, Alora looked that way.

She had stretched her neck to the jug as her brows furrowed and she watched the writing carefully. Hee lips opened and I heard her soft voice trying to repeat the spelling I had just given.

Her hair had shifted away from her face and her cheeks were red, her violet eyes fixed on the jug seriously. I traced my eyes towards her lips as they mouthed off the spellings incorrectly and I found myself drawn to them.

They looked so soft and pink. As if on cue, a memory flashed in my head of when I had kissed her the night I had been drunk. A part of me didn't remember how it felt and I wanted to try it to remember the taste of her lips on mine.

"V.I.N.E.G.A.R." Alora repeated, louder this time as she turned to me. My breath stopped as her face was just a few inches away from mine and I could feel her breath on my face.

She looked so beautiful up close. Her violet curious eyes stared at me in anticipation, and when she bit down her lower lips. I lost it. Clearing my throat as I shifted backwards.

"Yes. That's right." I replied, rising to my feet and dropping the jug back on the table and from the corner of my eyes, I noticed a small smile on Alora's face.

She really did look different when she smiled.

Her eyes brightened and I noticed a small dimple on both sides of her cheeks. I could feel a smile of my own creeping on my face and I forced a frown on my face as Alora continued beaming proudly.

I knew that she must have felt so happy that she was able to learn something new today and while I could stop the smile from my face, I couldn't stop the rush of pride that surged through me too.

A loud chime sounded in my pocket snapping me back to reality and I shoved my hand into my pocket and drew out my phone to see Seth's name flash across the screen.

"What is it?" I asked, a silver if irritation shot through me at the distraction and I heard Alora stiffened at the sound of my Alpha tone. Fear filled the room once more and I forced a growl down my throat.

"We found another spy around the borders again." Seth said and I could hear a background noise around him.

"Shut him up, he would wake the other wolves." I heard Victor order from the background and Seth sighed.

"It's a man. Mid thirties. Black hair and looks like he can't understand English. What should we do?" Seth asked and I pinched my nose.

"What pack is he from?" I asked and I heard Seth footsteps before I heard the sound of shouting as the sound of clothes ripping filled my ears.

"Jax's pack. And he looks like one of his most trained spies." Seth said and I sighed tiredly.

Jax's most trained spies were hard to break and it would be almost impossible to get anything out of them. But I was willing to try, I was never one to back down from a competition.

"Get him to the warehouse. I'll be there in a few minutes." I said, glancing briefly at Alora who watched me with wide eyes still unable to move from her injured feet. I turned my eyes to the other pieces of glasses on the floor and the fact that she had no slippers.

"I have something to take care of first." I said before ending the call just as Seth was about to ask what it was. I didn't have time to deal with his curiosity now. I shoved my phone back in my pocket as I sighed tiredly.

I could hear the increased heart beat of Alora as she wondered what was going to happen next. When I turned sharply to her, she stiffened, gripping her dress tighter in her hand with her wide eyes on me.

"I have to go now. I can't leave you here." I said before I squatted down in front of her once again and reached for her when she leaned away.

"I don't have time for this. Stay still. I'll take you upstairs." I ordered and her Alora's eyes filled with tears and I rolled my eyes ignoring her.

I'm not going to hurt you.

I wanted to tell her but I kept quiet as I reached her under her legs and her waist, pulling her close and wrapping my arms around her before lifting her up her feet.

A tiny squeal escaped her lips and I smirked mischievously. Her eyes widened as she glanced fearfully at the distance between her and the floor before she turned to me.

"I.I. I ca- can walk." She stammered, moving nervously in my arms as if to drop down back to her feet but I rolled my eyes, ignoring her as I marched towards the stairs.

Fear wafted off Alora and it was almost choking the life out of me as I carried her upstairs to my room. She weighed like a feather and it almost felt like I was carrying nothing in my arms and when I pushed the door open, I heard Alora gasp nervously and she began to tremble in my arms.

I looked down at her as I neared my bed. Her eyes had filled with tears and she was wiping them quickly to hide them away from me. She was shaking so much and I frowned.

"What is it?" I growled angrily. Already getting irritated at her constant crying and fear.

"I...I..I do-don't want to." She whispered, covering her face with her palm and my brows furrowed in confusion.

What the hell was she talking about?

I looked around the room confused as I thought of anything that I might have asked her to do when I noticed the bed in front of me. Then I glanced back at Alora in my arms who had started to sob silently. My cheeks flamed red.

No! No! I didn't mean any of that!

Did she seriously think I was going to have sex with her when it was so obvious she didn't want to?

Was that really what she thought of me? A rapist who took slaves without their consent?

I sighed. Of course, that was what everyone thought. Because I was cruel and ruthless everyone assumed the worst of me.

It wasn't new anyway.

I said nothing as I bowed, gently dropping Alora on the bed so she didn't have to stress her feet.

"I'm not going to take you against your will. And I would never do that to anyone." I said, as she turned to me with tear filled eyes. There was a silent relief in her eyes and I stepped back suddenly missing the feel of her soft frame against my chest.

Her violet eyes watched me curiously as I switched on the bedside lamp and went into my walk-in closet to get changed into black pants and white shirt. When I came back out, Alora was still watching me intensely.

I snatched my gun from underneath my table as I heard a soft gasp escape her lips. A smirk filled my face as I turned to her, feeling the surge of excitement in my veins.

"Don't leave the room." I announced, not waiting for her response as I switched off the lights and left the room heading to the warehouse where one of Jax's spy waited to be tortured by me.
