The Alpha's Broken Slave

Chapter 42

Ch. 42 / 60 May 03, 2026

Ares.

"Alpha what do you mean you're taking Alora shopping?" Victor asked first as Seth shook his head and dropped the iPad on the table.

We had been looking at the performances for the pack ceremony in four days and we were approving them. Until Alora and Carmen came downstairs.

I had sent Lana and the girls to help Alora clean her room because the moon goddess knew she was practically useless.

It was hard to not notice the way she walked with the side of her feet, and I made a mental note to stop by the pack doctor to get it checked out because Isabel had taken permission from me to do her test at school today.

At the same time, I wanted Lana to get her soft slippers so she didn't feel the cuts. I sighed, remembering she didn't have clothes either and presentation was key with the elders.

Shaking my head, I just concluded that I'll be taking her shopping instead and maybe get to know her along the way. Because by the moon goddess, the elder was going to ask about her.

"Exactly what it means." I said, picking a shrimp from my plate and throwing it between my lips, savouring the taste before Seth spoke.

"That's right, you don't know what the Alpha is going to do. He's making Alora his lover." Seth blurted as Victor jaw dropped.

"What?!" Victor asked, his eyes widening in shock which was surprising because the fucker never showed any emotions.

"Yes. He plans to avoid the elder questions about Alora. You know how he is, always putting his nose in other people's business. If he finds out Ares took in a rogue he would be angry and report to the others then they'll all come and-"

"I understand. But how does making her his lover not arouse his suspicion. I think it would even make it worse." Victor argued as Seth wiped down his face tiredly.

"Same thing I told him. But Ares never listens to anyone."

I gave him a stren look but he didn't notice as I turned to Victor.

"That's the best plan." I said confidently.

"How about just tell the elder that Alora is a maid. That shouldn't give him any reason to think more of her. You know how they are with statuses." Victor suggested and I thought of it before I shook my head.

"Ezra is too smart to know she's not from my pack. She doesn't smell like us and she doesn't have the pack tattoo either. He would know she's a rogue immediately. Besides, Ezra knows how Lana, her twins and then Raya and Isabel have worked with my family for years. He knows I wouldn't take someone else into my home, someone I had no ties with. I'm not that trusting and it wouldn't take long before he figures it out.

Telling him Alora is my lover, a rogue who stublmed in my pack and I fell in love with is the best idea." I concluded.

"So you think Ezra would believe you have a lover than trust someone."

"Yes. In this sense, Alora isn't my lover, as in someone I love. She's my Mistress and my bed warmer. Someone I turn to, to ease my sexual tension, nothing else. I'm a man, he would understand." I said, and Victor groaned.

"This is more complicated than it is. How do you even manage to pull this off? Like you said Ezra is smart. His father's the chief elder and he's not hard to fool." Victor said, his eyes filled with nervousness as I smirked.

"I just have to make it believable."

"You can't even do that. You hate Seth most of the time and you guys are childhood friends." He said and I smiled reaching for Seth and slapping him against his back so he chocked on his food.

"Fuck! Ares!" He yelled, coughing and grabbing a cup of water. Victor smiled softly.

"I like Seth. And he knows that." I smiled as Seth shrugged off before eyeing me.

"You're too playful today. Are you sure you're ok?" He asked dryly and I scoffed as Victor eyed me suspiciously.

"Or he's rather looking forward to the shopping with Alora." He said and I turned to him.

"There's nothing to look forward to. I wouldn't take time as I have a meeting this afternoon with the CEO of Dreshia Enterprise. I'll just get her some good clothes and some slippers for her feet." I said.

"Why does no one tell me anything anyway." Victor rested on his chair, his face void of any emotion.

"Because you were busy with Mila." Seth said as a faint blush filled Victor cheeks before he cleared his throat.

"She was mad to see me come home with blood on my shirt." He said, rubbing his head tiredly.

"Blood is like a second skin to us. She should be use to it by now." I said, frowning. Why did we have to do whatever women wanted?

I didn't see the use of having a girlfriend or a mate anyway. And it angered me that as powerful as Victor was, his mate was some weak human who couldn't even fight off a cockroach.

And I couldn't imagine myself doing everything for a 'mate'..

While the moon goddess had decided to pair us with a soul mate. The one we've been destined to spend the rest of our lives with. A second half, and the other part of us. I didn't see the use of it.

It was useless to be fated to someone, and I have seen wolf die of loneliness for the loss of their mate or not finding their mate at all.

How do one spend their life with one person? Love and cherish them with all your heart?

That was stupid, dumb and a waste of time. And it was only for weak men. I was the Alpha, strong and firerce, I didn't need a mate, nor a Luna.

I was powerful to rule the pack alone and as much as Victor made it seem like the best feeling in tbe world wad finding your mate, I saw it as a weakness.

That was another reason I hadn't made him my Beta, and made Seth instead. Seth was focused and didn't have a mate calling his attention every minute.

I could only pray he didn't find his mate ever. It was selfish, but it was necessary that he didn't have anything else clouding his mind.

"She said it made her scared. She didn't let me in the bedroom until I took my bath." Victor sighed before rubbing his eyes.

"Can I just tell her I'm a werewolf?" Victor asked, for the first time looking up at me hopefully abd I gave him a stern glare before he nodded respectfully.

One of the rules the elders made was that we never revealed ourselves to humans. It was treason to go against the rules, and with the elders dishing out punishment to any offenders like a piece of cake, I didn't want Victor to be hurt because of a mere human.

Besides, the elders already hated me and my pack. Every tiny slip up from any of my people would result in my own punishment too.

"So are you leaving now with Alora?" Seth asked and I nodded.

"Lana!" I called before nodding at Seth. "Yes. After my meeting, I have to patrol tonight. I need to make sure the pack is safe with my own two eyes. God knows those bastards at the Eastern borders would slack off if I don't keep tabs on them."

"What do you intend to do about Marco Lorenzo?" Seth asked, reminding me of Jax professional spy chained in my warehouse.

"Did you find anything on him yet?" I asked, wiping my lips carefully as Seth put on the iPad again, swiping on it before showing me.

"I did some background search on him." He started, showing me a picture of Marco on the side of the screen. "But every information about him has been covered with black lines."

Truly, each information had black ink covering it so it was hard to decipher. It must have been one of Jax's tricks, knowing fully well that he won't speak. I'm damn sure he is going to protect Marco's family too.

I frowned, this was going to get only chaotic from now on. Jax, like me, never gave up and when he notices his personal spy hadn't returned he was going to send in another one or even two at once. And it was almost difficult enough to catch Marco. Two running around with the pack ceremony coming up in three days, and then the elder watchful and judgemental eyes on us, it would be difficult to do anything.

Besides, this is a time for celebration, every pack member has their guards down, even the guards.

"Schedule a meeting with every guard at the borders for me tomorrow. Also get the class A rank ones for security from tomorrow too. This is a critical situation right now. Jax must be thinking of sending two spies, I know how his mind works and the class C ranked warriors can't catch two at the same time. They would be killed in a giffy." I said and Victor nodded.

"You need to address the pack too, so they are at alert." Victor said and I shook my head.

"No. That would put them in a state of frenzy. I need everyone happy during the pack ceremony. Not watching thier backs every second." I said.

"Besides, I'm surprised Marco didn't kill anyone yet." Seth said and I frowned.

That was right, during his mission, Marco hadn't killed any of my pack members. At least not until he was caught.

"Maybe he's was sent for a bigger reason." Victor said and Seth nodded, agreeing.

"Probably to get information for the pack ceremony." He said but I frowned.

"That's not it." I said, before Lana walked into the dining room..

"Yes, Alpha. You called."

"Yeah. Get Alora ready to go shopping with me. I'm leaving in the next hour." I glanced at my watch, not seeing the huge smile that filled Lana's face as she nodded, bowed and rushed out.

Seth's phone rang in his pocket as he groaned and pulled it out before excusing himself, leaving me and Victor.

"Alpha." He started and I turned to him.

"What?" I asked.

"Are you going to tell the pack members that Alora's your lover?"

"Yes. At the pack ceremony, I'll announce it." I concluded.

"But they would be bothered you're taking someone other than your mate as your lover. You know how they are when it comes to finding your Luna. They can't wait for you to find your mate, and I hear gossip about when you would find her. Do you think it's a good idea to let them know now?" Victor asked, worry sparked in his eyes for a while before he masked it.

"No." I answered shortly just as Seth returned and I noticed a faint blush on his cheeks almost unnoticeable but I've known Seth all my life to know when he's been riled up.

"Who was that?" I asked, giving him a sly smirk and I knew already who had called.

Seth glared at me, and Victor raised his brow in confusion.

"It's Isabel. She wanted me to wish her goodluck in her test. I don't know how she got my number in the first place." Seth said angrily and I laughed.

"Her brother worked in my company, tech department. That's a piece of cake." I said and Victor slapped him against his back..

"If women need anything, they go at great lengths to get it, irrespective of the stress. Just go with the flow, it's obvious she likes you." Victor advised and Seth struggled away from his touch.

"I don't have the time for that."

"That's my man." I encouraged as Seth looked up at me with admiration.

"And are you sure she's not your mate? You should know by now. The first time you guys met, you both must have known you're mated to each other. That's probably why she's pushing you." Victor asked and Seth shook his head.

"She's not my mate, I'm not hers either. She just likes me that's all." Seth said, but the nervousness in his face told me he something was wrong.

I was about to ask him when the scent of vanilla filled my nose and I turned around to see Alora in a beautiful long dress. Her hair had been neatly packed in a pony tail and it was decorated with tiny hair pins. Her dress was a pale green, reaching the floor so I couldn't see her feet.

It covered the scars on her arm and legs perfectly and it was hard to think she was anything than more than a beautiful lady.

"I'm ready." She whispered softly but I could hear it before she raised her eyes to me.

Those beautiful violet eyes sent chills down my spine. And my heart skipped a beat.

I hated this feeling!
