The Alpha's Broken Slave

Chapter 25

Ch. 25 / 60 May 03, 2026

Ares.

"Alpha, are you listening?" Seth asked, and I nodded, tearing my gaze from the window and turning to him.

We are currently in my office, my meeting had ended a few hours ago and Victor and Seth had followed me right to my office. My head banged in pain and I was almost sending them both out so I could take a nap.

But as usual Seth was bugging me about the pack ceremony that was coming up in a few days. Every month, we celebrated the newly mated wolves as they marked themselves under the full moon.

It was a ritual I had grown tired of but as usual, the elders would be there to make sure everything went right.

"I am." I answered through gritted teeth, snatching the bottle of water on my table and taking a huge gulp.

"The full moon is coming also. Would you be able to bear it this time?" Seth asked and I fell silent.

The full moon was indeed a few days away, the same night as the ceremony and I knew what to expect just when the moon formed the perfect circle.

"Don't I always do."

"But the elders-"

"The elders don't control me." I glared at Seth once more, rising from my seat as I tried to remember what had happened last night.

It had been a blur, my memories in shambles and I didn't know how I had gotten to Alora's lap. Even slept against her! And she was naked!

I knew for a fact that I hadn't slept with her, or taken advantage of her in my drunken state because I was still fully clothed, except for the fact my shirt was torn. I didn't even know how that happened in the first place.

A headache pounded in my head and I growled under my breath.

"Do you want to tell us what happened when you got back home?" Victor asked, speaking for the first time since he followed us to the office.

"That's what I'd like to know too. I don't remember anything from last night except going to the club. Everything after following that girl to the room is a blur." I answered and Victor frowned.

"You mean you don't remember leaving the club and going home whole screaming Alora was the cause of everything?" He asked again and I turned to him curiously.

"No, why would I think that? She hasn't done anything. She's just a broken slave." I said and Victor shook his head, folding his arms around his chest.

"I could hardly make out what you were saying, but it was something along her being in your mind so much that you can't be with anyone else."

"See? This is why I want her dead. She could have some strange magic from the moon. Didn't you say she was wolfless. It's rare for anyone to be born on a moonless night. What if she's doing all this on purpose? A ploy to get to you? And she's winning, you're playing right into her hands." Seth grumbled angrily and I sighed.

"That's true Alpha, Mila and Camilla are best friends. Camilla said she acted weird the first day she joined the girls in the kitchen." Victor said, and Seth nodded in response.

"And there's no background information about her. Didn't you say she lied to you about where she was from?" Seth asked.

"Yes bu-"

"She's a spy I'm sure. And from Jax pack too. I don't trust her and I want her dead before the pack ceremony. Pups would be present there, the pack would be celebrating and the elders would be around too. We can't let anything happen." Seth sounded.

"I agree with Seth on this one. She seems dangerous. No matter how delicate and scared she looks. There's something up her sleeves and it's not the scars." Victor said, leaning against the wall silently.

"I didn't have nightmares last night." I spoke, starting at the ground in confusion.

For years, I had been burdened every night with the memories of my past, and last night was the only time I didn't dream of anything.

No nightmares, no memories. Just silence.

From the corner of my eyes, I saw Victor and Seth exchange nervous glances and Victor stepped away from the wall to stand in front of me.

"Are you sure?" He asked, Seth frowned.

"Yes. That's all I remember. I know I didn't dream about anything last night. I woke up to see I must have slept on Alora's body." I answered my thoughts all over the place and I tried to think of a valid reason why I didn't dream last night.

"Are the elders going easy on you but reducing your punishment?" Seth asked and Victor shook his head.

"No. Didn't you see what they did to him on the last blood moon? They would never reprimand him. They are the true beasts among us."

"I wish I could remember what happened last night. I have never felt so confused in my life before." I said, dropping on my seat and taking out a cigarette from my drawers.

"It's Alora, it has to be her. All these started when she arrived." Seth said, and I tore him a glare.

"Or I might have gotten drunk off my ass to remember the dream." I growled at him, making Seth roll his eyes.

"Why are you so quick to defend her? It's obvious she's getting into you and you don't even realize that!" Seth yelled and I grabbed the replaced mug on my table in anger making Seth step backwards in fear.

I gripped the mug in my hand before dropping it back on the table. "Get out, both of you."

"Alpha, I think you should listen to Seth. Since she arrived it's been one thing to the other. I'll do more background checks on her, I'll ask around to find out her true identity. If by the full moon we still can't find who she truly is, I suggest we kill her." Victor said.

A part of me felt guilty about having to kill Alora when I knew she was just a slave, and the scars I had seen on her body that night she stumbled under my bed reminded me of someone.

She reminded me of me.

"If you can't kill her. I'll just do it myself." Seth said, before bowing and walking out of the room. Victor sighed, bowing before following him out too, closing the door gently behind him.

I closed my eyes tiredly, resting my head against my chair when an image flashed in my head.

It was from last night and I saw myself brining my lips to Alora's

I kissed her!

I jerked from the chair, almost throwing off my laptop as I gasped in shock at the memory. No, it couldn't have been true, I didn't kiss her.

I didn't kiss Alora.

Taking my hands to my lips, it was like I could feel her lips on mine, those soft lips pressed against mine. I could almost feel her breath on my face, I could smell her fear and her curiosity. I could almost see those violet eyes staring down at me as I leaned closer and closer to her.

I growled, suddenly feeling hot as I loosen my tie around my neck.

Was that why I couldn't look her in the face this morning?

Because a part of me knew what happened last night?

I didn't like this! Not this feeling in my chest or the tiny heat against my cheeks. I needed to know what happened last night. So I grabbed my keys, glancing briefly at my watch to see it was evening.

Lana and the girls would probably still be in the house, and while I wanted to avoid them because Lana would be on my neck about why I had locked Alora in my room, preventing her from working with them. I knew I couldn't wait.

I needed to know.

Ignoring the greeting from my workers, most of them wolves from my pack while the others were humans, I made my way to my car parked just in front of my company.

There was only one person that knew what had happened last night, and she was locked up in my room, chained to my bed, naked, probably tired and hungry. I shoved down any tiny sympathy that I might feel for her as I sped down the streets.

It took less than an hour before I got to the pack, entering my estate and into the compound. I sighed, looking at the house and mentally preparing my ears for Lana concerns.

I slammed the door, walking to the entrance and loosing my tie further, feeling the material tight against my neck before pulling the door open.

"Quick shut the door before mom comes in to catch me watching this last episode of The business proposal." I recognized the voice of one of the twins.

I looked up to see Camille, holding a huge bowl of watermelons as she stood in front of the big television in the sitting room. Her eyes were fixed on the TV that showed a weird drama of Asian people that I knew I hadn't installed on the TV.

"Can he just kiss her already?" Camille groaned tiredly and I raised my brows at her.

"Come Raya, it seems he-" She started to say before she turned, finally meeting my gaze. The bowl fell past her fingers, the watermelons rolling on the floor as she gasped in horror at my presence.

"Alpha!" She yelled, bowing in submission as her heat thumped loudly in her chest, fear radiating off her from being caught.

I said nothing as I closed the door behind me just as Lana ran into the sitting room, wiping her hand down her apron.

"Alpha, welcome. You're back early." She said, bowing before she caught sight of her daughter who had hurriedly put off the TV, picked the watermelons and was scrambling off to the hallway.

"Forgive Camille. I'll deal with her myself." Lana said and I nodded, feeling too tired to say anything else as I made my way up the stairs.

"May I ask why Alora didn't join us today?" Lana called and I stopped in my tracks.

"She's being punished." I answered, feeling anger in my veins.

"Why?" Lana asked again.

For going to the west wing.

For playing the piano!

For me kissing her!

I said nothing in response to that as I started my way to the stairs when I heard Lana behind me, rushing up the stairs to match my pace.

"Please, Alpha. She's a damaged girl. She flinches as the tiniest noise, she doesn't let me touch her and she rarely speaks." Lana started to say but I ignored that.

I knew that. I noticed everything.

"She's scared heavily, I know you don't trust her as she's not from our pack. But please take it easy on her. She's a wounded soul and you would only scare her more if you keep her locked up in there." Lana said, stopping behind me as I ignored her once more, turning to the east wing and making my way to my room.

I heard Lana sigh as she continued her way back down the stairs. I stopped walking, turning briefly to look at the west wing. It was dark with only six doors, three doors on the left and three on the right.

I was a wounded soul too. But no one went easy on me. I had to bear everything, alone and locked up too.

No one deserved my pity, my mercy.

Not even the broken slave locked up in my room.
