Sophie
The night was going super awesome. I finally loosened up and let myself unwind. Logan and I danced until my feet were aching. It was as if we had never parted. He was so caring and attentive to all my needs, and constantly kept kissing me so lovingly.
He trailed his hands around my waist, hugging me from behind, and pulled me against him as we walked towards the bar. "Brian, two club sodas man," he calls out to the bartender making me pout. "Club sodas? Why not a drink?" I asked him, pouting my lips, making him throw his head back laughing. "Baby girl, you already had too much to drink. I wouldn't want to bring you home all intoxicated, do you have any idea what will happen to me if that happens? My mom will kill me. She cares too much about you, babe. Besides, I don't want you getting hurt either." he says, holding me tightly and kissing my lips.
After we drank our club soda, we made our way into the dance floor again. It was fairly crowded, but everyone seemed to be enjoying each other's company, including myself. "You look good baby girl, watch out Logan, someone may just swoop her off her feet and take her from you." Troy laughed sarcastically, making Logan laugh. "No way man. They'll have to kill me first before I let her go." Logan retorted back to him.
By one in the morning, things began to slow down and people began to leave. I had drunk so much, that I needed to pee badly. "I'll be back. I gotta go pee." I yelled across to Logan making him chuckle. "Do you want me to walk you over there?" he suggested. I nodded no, and waved him off as I made my way out there. "Alright, be careful baby. I'll get us some more drinks meanwhile." he added before getting up and walking the opposite from me towards the bar.
Luckily, there was no line. I hate when you need to go badly, and there's a long waiting line. I made my way inside carefully and entered the first stall, I did my business and laughed silently as I felt my body numb from all the drinking. My vision was a bit blurred, and since the restroom was fairly quiet, comparing to the noise outside, I could hear a loud ringing in my ear from how silent it was in here.
I cleaned myself up, fixed my dress, and made my way out to wash my hands. I fixed my hair, and took a once over in the mirror. "Having fun, Sophie?" the voice of someone startled me, making me jolt up. "Oh, hi, Roxie. Yes, thank you, and you?" I asked her, smiling awkwardly. "I'm fine." she says smiling. "I didn't know you had come along. I hadn't seen you in the club." I asked sincerely. She smiles and looks down. "I've been here for a while. You and Logan haven't paid much attention to anyone but each other." she added making me blush.
"I guess this is how we always used to be. We never really paid much attention to anyone or anything but each other when we're together." I added making her raise an eyebrow.
"Can I ask you something?" she said, after washing her hands and grabbing a paper towel to dry her hands. "Umm, sure, I suppose." I replied, smiling at her. "Do you really love Logan?" her question threw me off, it was obvious that I love that man. "Well, yeah, of course. By the way, Roxie, Logan explained to me about the incident from earlier today, I just want you to know that I -"
"It wasn't an incident, Sophie, well, partially.... I do like Logan, Sophie....a lot. I know he doesn't see me the same way he sees you, but, believe me..." she says turning towards me. "If you hadn't shown up unexpectedly back in town, I would have continued to pursue a relationship with him. I mean, what's there not to like about him right?" she says making me feel uncomfortable.
"He's really hot. He's got a successful career as a lawyer, and so much potential to become greater. The only problem, is...you." She says making me angry. "Excuse me?" I reply making her laugh.
"Come on, Sophie? Don't think I don't see right through you, hun. You're with him because you know he's got money. And lots of it, right? You just started your career as a photographer, didn't you? I'm sure you thought going back with him and claiming that your son as his would bring you a load of income that you can't provide for your son, didn't you?" I was so angry. "Don't you dare bring my son into this. I love Logan, and I have no intention to get any money out of him. I haven't needed his money, and I sure as hell don't need it now." she laughs, taunting me with her stupid fake grin. "Oh, come on, that's a load of crap, and you know it." she adds, tilting her head to the side.
"I get it. You're jealous that he chose me over you. But up to now, I didn't need his money, and I can sure as hell provides for my son on my own. The only gold digger here is you. So excuse me...if I don't feel pity for him dumping you after the first official date. Her probably go bankrupt with you around, while I, on the other hand want nothing more, but his success. Oh, yeah, he told me about your dates. How you threw yourself at him right away."
"I'm sure he did, and why wouldn't I? when he's hot as fuck." she says mockingly. She composes herself, running her hands through her hair. "Did he also tell you we slept together that night? All night to be exact. I must say, he's so damn good in bed.....isn't he?" she adds making my eyes water from all the anger I felt inside. I can't believe I actually thought she could be a good friend.
She neared my face and smiled wickedly. "Be good to him, Soph. Because if not, I won't mind taking a chance to be with him. To comfort him in any way he needs me. If you know what I mean, darling." she says, winking at me and walking out of the restroom.
I was so mad, I didn't want to be here any longer. I went past everyone, grabbed my purse, and made my way out of that place. Ethan saw me from afar and ran after me. "Sophie, wait. What's wrong?where are you going?" he says pulling me back. Logan was coming towards us, with concern in his eyes, but the least I wanted was to talk to him right now. I pulled my arm away and made my way out of there, followed by Ethan.
"Sophie, Sophie, wait...will you?" Ethan pulls me back from my arm again as I neared the end of the parking lot and pulls me into a hug. "What's wrong baby girl? You were having so much fun in there. What happened?"
"I don't want to talk about it right now, Ethan. I just want to pick up my son and go home. Forget this whole night ever happened." I said as tears rolled down my eyes. "Ok. Ok.... I'll take you to pick him up, and take you home...are you sure you're ok?" he asked, cupping my face and looking between my eyes. I forced a smile and looked down.
"Sophie? Baby, where are you going? Why did you leave the club?" Logan caught up with us, making Ethan pull away and clearing his throat. "I will, umm, give you guys some privacy. Call me if you still need a ride, ok?" he says foregoing back to the club.
I glanced angrily at Logan and turned on my heels, walking away. He pulls me back by my arm, pressing my back against his hard chest, "Baby, talk to me. Please? What's wrong? Why did you leave? Did something happened when you went to the bathroom? Did someone try and make a nasty move on you? Talk to me."
"What's wrong? Your stupid fake girlfriend is what's wrong." I cried, lashing out at him. Ever since the birth of my son, my emotions became unraveling. I cry easily, and lash out easily. Even when I try and hold back, my emotions get the worst out of me. "Why didn't you tell me you slept with her Logan? I thought you said you were just friends." The color drained from his face, and his silence was all it took for me to realize that this night was far too good to be true. Who was I kidding? He obviously has changed. Like every man, all they want is sex, no real commitment.
"I should have known," I said, turning on my heel and tried walking away. He pulls me back once more by my arm and hugs me tightly. "Baby, wait, please. I'm sorry, I know I didn't tell you. But that was because it meant nothing, Sophie. I ended things with her the very same night after it happened. It was one time, and believe me, I felt so guilty after that I couldn't stop thinking about you. That's when I told her that I still loved you, and couldn't be with anyone. I knew you'd be coming back, I knew you had planned on buying the house, I, I couldn't just jump into another relationship knowing I wanted you back. Please, baby. You gotta believe me. I tried everything trying to forget you, but I can't. I won't give up on us." he says, placing his chin on the crook of my neck and pulling me hard against him.
I closed my eyes and sighed. This was too much for me. I'm such an emotional roller coaster right now. I pushed his hands away and turned to look at him, cleaning my tears away. "Then I hope you can forget about me with her then. I'm obviously causing you too much pain. Maybe we should forget about tonight, and act as if we never got back together. I'm not comfortable knowing I'm causing you too much pain"
"Sophie, no. Baby, please, I need you. I need you and my son in my life don't do this to me." The conversation escalated. I knew I was being unfair to him. But what Roxie said was true, he was very successful, and the least I want was to be in his way of reaching his highest potential in life. All that I would do is hold him back.
"You can come visit Nathan whenever you want, but nothing more Logan. You and I can not continue, it has to end with us here." I turned on my heel and walked away, back towards the club to ask Ethan to take me home.
"Sophie, no. I won't give you up again, you hear me? I'm not giving up on us." he yelled across the parking lot, making a few heads turn. My tears continued to fall, and I needed to leave before I regretted everything, which I already was. To make matters worse, I was still feeling very drunk, and I tried to walk steady so I didn't end up falling on my ass.
"Sophie." he continued to yell my name as he paced right behind me.
"Sophie Marie Patterson! Don't you dare keep walking away from me." His menacing voice startled me, making me jump in place and stop in my tracks. He had never raised his voice in anger at me like this. "Turn around and fucking look at me." he demanded making me feel like a five-year-old who just got in trouble for throwing a tantrum, but I wasn't going to back out on my words. This has to be done. I want him to succeed, and have an amazing future, even if it doesn't include me in it.
Needless to say, the color drained from my face as I saw how pissed off he looked. I suddenly didn't feel drunk anymore, I sobered up quickly, pressing my arms together around my chest as the cold wind began to drift by.
"What, Logan? You're gonna tell me that you suddenly love me, again? That you're here to sweep me off my feet and make all my dreams come true? Please! I didn't need you all this time, and I don't need you now." He clenched his jaw, fisting his hands. He slowly came up to me until he was an inch away from my face. I could feel my heart rising in my chest so fast. He looked at me with those beautiful greens, furrowing his eyebrows, and deepened his voice as he slowly trailed his hand around my waist and pulled me against him quickly.
"I said ENOUGH, stop being so damn fucking stubborn. You know I do, I love you. It was always you, it has always....been you. No one else. I have never stopped loving you Sophie, and I probably never will, because you are all I am fucking thinking of all the time. Don't think I don't know what you're doing. You're trying to end things between us because you feel that I'll do better without you. Let me tell you, you're wrong. You want to know my secret for all...my damn success." he says pulling me tighter against him, making me gasp.
His face came nearer to me, making me pull my head back a little. "You...you're my reason. I thrive because you make me a better man. Even when you weren't here, I always knew you'd come back one day, and I longed for that day, so I can fight for you and we could be together. All I have means nothing if I don't have you, or my son. You two are everything to me. And I will never...ever...give up on us," He says pecking my lips and smiling.
"Got it?" my eyes were full of tears, and a huge lump had formed in my throat disabling me from speaking. I nodded and sighed as I tried to say something, but he cut me off kissing me vigorously. My arms unfolded, trailing around his neck as I pulled closer to him. Our kiss was intense, I could feel him pouring himself into that kiss. I have to stop running from him. I know that. This is where I belong, in his arms, with him. I need to stop feeling inferior, and feeling like I don't deserve him. Just like he's trying his best for us to be together, I need to do the same.
Fuck that girl, and Amber, and everyone else. This is my man, and I need to fight for him, just like he's fighting for us.
We parted gasping for air, he leaned his forehead against mine, smiling. His fingers interlaced in my hair in the back of my neck. "I love you, you stubborn nerd," he says making me chuckle. "I love you too,"
"You haven't called me that since before we started dating," I say in a whisper. He sighs, placing his hands around me, giving me a big bear hug, allowing me to rest my head against his chest. He smelled so good, despite all the sweating we had done from dancing all night. "Well, you still are a nerd. But you're my nerd. Got it?" he says, kissing the top of my head.
We loosened our grip on each other, but he still held me around my waist. "Should we get out of here?" he suggests. I nod but then I pause, remembering Ethan. "Wait, I just need to tell Ethan I don't need a ride anymore. I'll be back." I say turning quickly to walk towards the club. "The hell you are. He'll figure it out, shit. You're my damn woman, you got that." he says pulling me back and throwing me on his shoulder like a damn potato sack. I squealed and laughed as he turned towards his car, taking his keys out and smacking my ass before throwing me inside the car. "Ugg, I hate you Spencer, that was so unnecessary." I say, making him chuckle, winking and smacking his teeth.
"It had to be done, babes. You're my woman, you don't need to explain shit to anyone or tell them you're going home with me." he says looking back and noticing my purse on the floor.
"Seat belt," he says before closing the door and running to get my purse off the floor, coming back and turning on the engine. "Let's go, home baby," he says as he speeds off towards his house.
