Logan
I woke up ecstatic this morning. Sophie was still in my arms as we laid in a spooning position. The duvet that covered us was down to our waist, exposing her back. That beautiful arch I love staring at. She sighed as I trailed my hand over her arm and kissed her shoulder.
I still can't believe she's here...in our home, and what makes me happier, is knowing Nathan is here too. I can't believe I have a family and didn't even know it. I combed her hair back, softly with my fingers, clearing her face and neck. I leaned down slowly kissing her neck and jaw. She smiled, though still asleep.
I decided to let her rest a little and went to take a quick shower. I'm glad it was Saturday, I didn't have to rush off to work. Instead, I'd convince her to stay longer with me. I wanted to hurry to go check on Nathan, so I got out of the shower quickly and wrapped a towel around my waist. I knew the boys would be mad at me, we had planned for a trip to a new resort that had opened nearby where you can go glamping. Pretty much a camping in style place. The tents had hardwood floors and the tents were huge, set up with actual beds and furniture. But, I wanted to spend more time with her instead, so unless I could convince her and Nathan to go, I was not going either.
I made my way out and saw she was still sound asleep. The sight of her back in my bed made my heart feel warm and content.
I leaned down beside her and ran my finger through her cheek. A smile seemed to be permanently plastered in my face at the sight of her. She sighed, opening her eyes slowly. "Morning beautiful," I whispered making her smile.
"Good morning handsome." She responded making me chuckle under my breath. "Nathan, oh God I have to go check on him. What time is it?" She jolted up making me startled. "Baby, relax, I'm sure he's fine. My mom is back so I'm sure she and Ashley are keeping him company. We'll go check on him in a bit, ok?"
She grunts, feeling the throbbing of her head from the hangover. "Oh, God. I think I drank far too much last night." She nags, making me chuckle.
I grabbed the bottle of water I had left the previous morning, opened up my drawer and took two aspirin out, and handed them to her. "Here babe. Take these, you'll be fine. You just need to keep hydrated and it will go away soon enough. You're not used to drinking are you?" I ask her making her wince at the taste of aspirin in her tongue.
"Nope. I've never been much of a drinker, you know that. I mean, a glass of wine here and there, but, not really the type to just go off and drink for a night." I chuckle, kissing her and laying next to her.
"I see you got a new tattoo. It's in memory of your mom, isn't it?" I say, pointing towards the tattoo on her left shoulder. It was a beautiful cluster of flowers with a pink ribbon and the initials H.P. for Hailey Patterson.
She smiles with a bit of sadness, "Yeah." she goes silent, hugging her knees slightly and looking out the window towards the lake. The bedroom I had made for her and me, had the best view of all. It was right in the far left corner, out looking at the trees and the lake. The sun was barely coming up, giving us a view of the sunrise. I smiled and kissed her shoulder, wrapping my arms around her.
"Do you remember our first date? We fell asleep in this exact spot, after watching movies. You freaked out when you woke up, saying your parents were going to kill you for not coming home. Then I asked you to just give me a few extra minutes to admire the sunrise with you." I said over her shoulder, looking at her with admiration.
She had gotten much more beautiful. She went from a young girl to a gorgeous woman.
"I remember. Troy was pretty happy for us. After you dropped me off, he gave me such a hard time, saying I had fallen hard for you."
"Well, you did," I responded cockily making her chuckle. She turned to look at me with a smile. "I sure as hell did. You're still the one I love, Logan. I've never stopped loving you." she says making me smile.
After we made out for a while, and the sun had come up, she got up and changed into a pair of sweats I had and one of my t-shirts. We made our way out and checked on Nathan. I'm guessing they had a blast last night as well, Ashley and he was still sound asleep.
We closed the door, gently and went down to the kitchen to make breakfast together. We went with the best breakfast options, cooking pancakes, eggs, and bacon. She started a pot of coffee while I finished the bacon and then continued to set the table.
When we were almost done cooking, mom, Ashley, and Nathan cane down to eat. Nathan held Ashley while rubbing his little from barely waking up. His face lit up when he saw us in the kitchen. "Mom!" he let Ashley's hand go and ran to hug her. She lifted him and hugged him tightly. "My baby, I missed you cubby bear," she says kissing him continuously.
"Mom, guess what? Aunt Ashley and Meghan took me to a jungle gym. It was so fun. Then we ate pizza, they bought me a big plushie snake and a monkey. Then we went to get a mani-pedi and we watched movies." Nathan was ecstatic. But of course, he didn't know, nor did both Sophie and him needed to know that I had given Ash my card to take him to do anything he wanted.
I was bound to spoil him, and I didn't care if it cost me tons of money. I want the very best for him, financially, and emotionally. I want to be there for him in any way possible and make sure he gets a good education.
"Wow, baby. It sounds like you had so much fun!" She smiled looking at him with a bright gleam in her eyes. She glanced at Ashley, I believed that she did all those things for him.
"Ash?" She says apologetically. Ash points to me, and I turn acting as if I have no idea what she is talking about.
She nods her head and smiles, setting Nathan down. We sat together to eat, enjoying the company of each other. It was a pleasant breakfast that I had longed for in my dreams for so long. And now, it had become a reality.
My mom kept smiling and talking with Sophie. She has always had a keen eye for Sophie, even before we started dating back in high school. She hated when Amber and I were going out, and honestly speaking, Amber and I were not a good match. We're good friends...or were, at least. I'm not quite sure where we stand in our friendship anymore. I feel bad for all the shit she's going through, but I can't forgive the fact that Sophie left for California thinking I had been unfaithful to her.
A bit after we began eating, the doorbell went off. I completely forgot that I had told Troy to meet up at my house so we could all leave together. All my stuff was already in the back of my jeep, ready to go on our trip.
"Hey man, ready to go? Hey there's my best girl in the world, and you... I know you little man, high five buds!" Troy says as he walks in with me towards the table. "You're going somewhere?" Sophie asks making me grunt inwardly.
"Yeah, we're going glamping. Hey, why don't you come along Soph? Nathan would love it. There's so much we have scheduled to do." Sophie looks at me with uncertainty and then towards my mom.
"I think it will be an excellent idea, Sophie. You'll have so much fun. You can stay in Logan's tent and Nathan can stay in Ashley's." She adds making me smile.
"Umm, I'm not so sure. I mean, Nathan's going back to school in a few more days, I don't want to"
"No, mom. Please... Can we go Glamping?" My little man adds. She looks at me, a big smile plastered on my face. I pout and look at her hoping she'd say yes.
"It'll be fun! Plus, you could use a break from all the move and everything." I add.
"But, Ethan and John are here. And Lexie-" she adds making me pout again. Turn she glances at Nathan who has his little pouty face well making my mom chuckle.
She grunts and rolls her eyes."Fine, but... I need to go home and get my stuff and Nathan's stuff ready as well."
"YES!" Nathan, Troy, and I say in unison, making her chuckle. "I guess we're going glamping then," I say pulling her by her waist and kissing her.
"And to make it better for you, I can call Victor, the owner of the resort, and ask if we can rent a few more tents if you want your friends and Lexie to join us. The more the merrier." Troy adds making me grunt under my breath.
Great, now Kyle is tagging along too. But, fuck it. I'm not going to let him ruin my family time. I'm going to make sure that Nathan and Soph get my full attention.
